Ok but i need u to understand that construction bosses are the Real Villains

School kids gang up on a classmate and torture her to the brink of death. Not because of any personal hatred but rather as the because they are the rich elite exploiting their power over others. We not only despite these teens for their cruelty but also their flippancy; their indifferent disregard for another person's life.

So riddle me this: Why is Ha Do Young spared?

Sure, he at no point is involved in the violence and bullying. You might argue that he innocent, just like his daughter. I would argue otherwise. In fact, I would argue that this is the central contradiction and disappointment of The Glory.

His daughter is a child. But Ha Do Young is a construction boss*. Let that sink in. A. Construction. Boss. You ever heard of one of those who *hasn't* indirectly committed industrial manslaughter? Who hasn't used the poor, working class as fodder for profits? You think how he achieved immense wealth is *innocent*?

Construction bosses like Ha Do Young are far more scary a villain than a bunch of rich teens. He does not need to hold a heated rod himself in order to inflict lifelong scars. But that's ok I guess! The FL decides to take revenge *personally*, even if the motivation of her torturers wasn't personal at all.

And honestly, that approach from the writers makes sense. The Glory is escapism (torture porn aside). In the world of The Glory, injustice *can* be righted. Of course, this is only achievable when the violence is boiled down to the individual level rather than as a result of social structures. To suspend that disbelief, Ha Do Young remains unblemished and unscathed.

All this to say: my itch was not scratched! Either you provide a) individual motivations for the rich kids to have bullied the FL or b) pure class warfare. It's that easy :P

you will love this drama

The Glory is a series that stands out for its intensity, strong emotions and precisely constructed story of revenge. I liked how it slowly but surely reveals the past of the main character and shows how deep the scars bullying can leave. Every scene has its own meaning, no character is unnecessary and everything gradually fits into the well-thought-out plan of the main character.

What I enjoyed most about the series was the quiet but relentless build-up of tension. Don't expect a classic revenge action - instead you get a psychological game where every step is carefully planned. The acting, especially the main characters, is great and the story draws you in so much that you want to know how it all ends. It is a dramatic, visually impressive and powerful spectacle that will stay with you even after the end.

Great show but I didn't like it as much as I wanted to

Dong-eun is cold, mysterious, and incredibly clever. This makes for an addictive watch because she constantly keeps you guessing.

If you’re the sort who loves clever schemes, this first season may also prove to be slightly disappointing. While Dong-eun’s plans were elaborate and highly complex, nothing about it was particularly clever in the first installment. In fact, parts of the revenge plot didn’t really make much sense in terms of the execution and timing (just too perfectly coincidental). But okay, I won’t nitpick the specifics.

Although audiences are meant to be rooting for Dong-eun, I didn’t really have any strong feelings about her in this season. There were other stronger characters, like Yeo-jeong (the young medical doctor) and heyonnam (the housekeeper), who I found really interesting.

Overall, I found The Glory a little absurd and unrealistic for my liking at times, but there were sufficiently compelling characters and cliffhangers to keep me invested until the end of it so this was definitely worth the watch.

Depraved manipulation

Before I begin, I would like to address the plague of 10 star reviews on this site. What's the point of giving everything you watch and moderately think is ok 10 stars? It makes all reviews, yours and others completely meaningless. My Mister is the only drama I would give 10's across the board to as it is arguably one of the greatest works of art ever made. But if everything you like is a ten, then the whole exercise is pointless. I never read 10 star reviews because these people are simply untrustworthy shills and attention seekers

This story shows the physical and physcholological torture of a high school girl at the hands of her sick and twisted classmates. The girl is further tortured and humiliated by the school principals who side with the sadistic students because it would reflect poorly on them if they allowed her reports of abuse to go forward. The show itself is sick and twisted and manipulative and cruel. This completely unrealistic and over the top introduction is supposed to set up the subsequent revenge plot coming in the next 16 episodes, with last 8 episodes to come in a later 2nd season, so even if you start watching this now, there will be no payoff till much later, so why bother? Why tourture oneself with this garbage? Dropped after 1/2 episode.

DRAMA QUE TODOS DEBERIAN VER!!

Bueno que decir, este drama ya lo termine hace algunos días, exactamente hace 3 días, pero recién tengo el tiempo de poder hacer su reseña, siendo sincera, no tenia muchas expectativas de este drama, la verdad no me llamaba la atención, y eso que los actores me gustan mucho, pero simplemente, no me apotecia de verlo, pero que gran sorpresa me lleve cuando empecé el primer capitulo, fue un sin fin de emociones, como el odio, la tristeza, cuando los bullies, agredían a la protagonista me daban ganas de meterme a la serie, y defenderla, de verdad que grandes actuaciones por parte de todo el elenco, me gustaron ambos papeles de edades, tanto de jóvenes como de adultos, pero mi favorito por así decirlo, fueron cuando eran adolescentes, ya que creo que cuando hay maltrato en colegio, se siente mas realista, y de verdad que le agarre odio a todos los bullies, la escena en donde le queman, fue muy difícil de ver, porque el dolor que sentía se vio tan real, y pensaba de que la agresión iba a ser mas moderada, pero no ,fue todo lo contrario, eran demasiados crueles con todas sus acciones.

Ahora si quiero hablar acerca de la trama, al comienzo pensé q me iba a aburrir, pero no fue así, yo si quería ver como la prota se va vengando de todos, quería que sufrieran, absolutamente todos, ahora vámonos al único buen personaje hombre y es nuestro estudiante de medicina, que hombre para mas lindo, él siempre estuvo para nuestra prota, la quería mucho desde el primer encuentro, como se preocupaba por ella, y si tal ves, pudo a ver sido porque iba a ser medico, pero después, si se ve el interés, aunque me hubiera gustado mucho que le den mas tiempo en pantalla, era el único buen personaje masculino, y no el esposo no cuenta, perdón pero ese tipo no me cae, pero bueno, en si todo el drama estuvo bueno, y el hecho de que no solo la trama de la venganza sea lo único importante, sino también hay otros temas interesantes, como el hecho de que el tipo que no puede distinguir los colores, este pagando su karma en su hija, eso me gusto mucho, y espero en que la 2 temporada o parte, ese tipo sufra mucho, y su hija no lo acepte, cuando se entere todo lo que hizo en su pasado.

Hablemos un poco acerca del personaje, que sin ella, la prota no hubiera logrado todos sus objetivos, o al menos la mayoría, y ella la señora que es victima de abuso por parte de su esposo, que personaje para más divertido, siempre cuando estaba enojada por los bullies, ella me hacia sacar un sonrisa con todas sus ocurrencias, ella se convirtió en una de las personas mas importantes de nuestra prota, y a pesar de ella no le demuestra cariño, ella la quiere mucho con sus acciones, como el hecho de que le da miedo que ella se ponga en peligro, me gusta mucho su relación es como madre e hija.
Bueno ahora si creo que ya termino, solo espero que la 2 parte sea igual de buena que esta, hasta marzo tengo que esperar, para ver que sigue, y espero que nuestra prota logre todos sus objetivos, y que se quede con el chico doctor, porque se lo merece, ella merece ser feliz por fin, y se con la ayuda del chico todo será un poco mas fácil, y espero que no se muera ningún buen personaje, porque sino denuncio a netflix JAJA.

Opinião polêmica

Por todo o hype gerado, imaginei que fosse gostar mais do drama. Não sei se por talvez ter assistido muitos dramas de vingança recentemente, esse não gerou em mim o impacto esperado. Apesar de entender perfeitamente a motivação da vingança da Moon Dong Eun, não consegui ter empatia pela personagem. A vida toda dela foi pensada em prol dessa vingança. Quando ela alcançar tudo isso, qual sentido terá a vida dela? Ela acaba se igualando aquelas pessoas nefastas porque ela se torna exatamente como elas. Não que eles não mereçam punição pelas atrocidades que fizeram com ela, merecem. Mas será que assassinato, aliciamento de pessoas (incluindo menores) tornaria ela melhor/diferente deles?

antes de assistir the glory, li uns comentários que diziam que a vingança dela (de início), foi leve. Então isso foi o motivo pr'eu começar e vamos lá:

• A vingança dela de início foi muito bem pensada. Ela não quis chegar já contratando alguém pra sequestrá-los, torturá-los e por fim matá-los. Tudo nesse kdrama foi dirigido e pensado MUITO BEM. Por que?

• Começamos com a tortura psicológica. Ela mexeu com a yeonjin de forma psicológica e claro que ao ver de alguns telespectadores isso vai ser fraco. Mas pensem: Mexer com a vida, status, a família e principalmente a filha (que é uma de suas maiores fraquezas depois do status) foi algo que deixou ela lunática. Isso é mostrado assim que a yeonjin descobre que a dongeun é professora da yesol. Ela pensa que a dongeun a machucou e afins, assim como fez com dongeun no ens médio. aquilo deixou ela surtada - o status entra na carreira da yeonjin. dongeun chegou a ameaçá-la sobre "deixar algum comentário" no site da previsão do tempo; algo que a yeonjin chegou a checar no site e viu que não tinha nada. Enfim, o jogo psicológico com a yeonjin é muito mais torturante do que vingança física, corpo a corpo. Ela vai desmontar a yeonjin até por fim machucá-la fisicamente.

• Com o jaejoon, ela usou a filha dele e os segredos que ele tem com a yeonjin, mesmo ele não tendo medo de ser exposto, mas o maior ponto fraco é a yesol.
• com a aeromoça, ela usou o que podia ao seu favor - o fato dela ser interesseira e mal caráter, a paixão secreta pelo jaejoon e a raiva, inveja e ódio da yeonjin.
• com a sara, ela usou a dependência das drogas e um pouco da fé
• com o cabeludo que sumiu (aquele m3rdinha), ela só usou ele mesmo, até porque é pra isso que ele servia. ser um cachorro imbecil e burro.

• É interessante pontuar certa cena que ela tem com o marido da yeonjin (não me recordo o nome dele), onde ele fala sobre a vingança não funcionar no país e ela também comenta isso com a moça que está a ajudando quando diz sobre a 'vingança' virtual, onde ela sabe que se entrasse com algum processo contra yeonjin, mesmo com todas as provas contra ela, isso não daria em nada, ela sairia perdendo - podendo até ser visto como uma crítica contra a própria justiça coreana, visto que em muitos kdramas mostra como as pessoas de elite têm o poder de se safar de vários crimes, seja pagando ou tendo contatos com gente de alto escalão. Então, o que ela tem a seu favor é a Internet. Um simples comentário, um feedback, um EXPOSED na Internet pode destruir a reputação da yeonjin pra sempre; isso é algo que é tanto recorrente no mundo real quanto nos kdramas. É muito fácil arruinar a imagem de alguém na Coreia do Sul. Os knetz não perdoam facilmente e eles AMAM um linchamento virtual. Então essa tacada e citação também foi muito bem pensada.

Por fim, é um kdrama que vale a pena de se assistir, tanto se pensarmos no ponto crítico dele, nos seus efeitos que possivelmente pode causar um senso de justiça, uma voz para a justiça e direções escolares terem diante ao bullying recorrente que diversas vezes é silenciado ou ignorado, quanto por assistir por puro prazer do tipo de gênero. Recomendo super!

Je ne crois pas avoir assez de mots pour dire combien j’ai adoré ce drama ! «The Glory» aborde des sujets difficiles, la violence, scolaire ou non, le fait que tant de gens ferment les yeux sur ce qui se passe, pour une raison ou une autre. Mais surtout, il aborde la vie de la victime, les conséquences pour elle, et dans ce cas-ci, la revanche de celle-ci. Une revanche non pas physique, violente, mais une lente, et méticuleusement planifiée. L’histoire de ce drama est passionnante, prenante, intrigante. Les acteurs, eux, ont été absolument magistraux, interprétant leurs personnages avec brio ! Je recommande chaudement ce drama à mon tour, je sais que moi, je n’hésiterai pas à le voir de nouveau !
