An Error That Can't Be Solved!!

Semantic Error would be a new mark in Korean BL drama history and one of the best ever BL i have ever watched after WYEL and To My Star. It literally screams how opposite personalities attract each other.

About the few things i liked about this series is -
the period of time was really different this time. usually BL dramas (such as To my star, The Tasty Florida, Kissable Lips and so on) have a storytime of 10/12 min per ep but this time it has 25 mins and i was astonished to see how good the character and the atmosphere was portrayed. nothing felt too long or too short. I really wanted this kind of production and i hope in future there will be more dramas like this

second of all, I am surprised how good the acting quality is. Dongkiz's Jaechan did a decent acting which really suited the character, Chu Sangwoo who is cold and analytical. KNK Seoham also portrayed the playful character of Jung Jaeyoung. Moreover both Seoham and Jaechan are new in BL kdrama industry so it was really good to see the chemistry they had between them onset and off set. i love them both equally and their interactions were pleasing to watch.

about the ost, i have no objection like it doesn't suit the drama because it does! i listened to the osts in YouTube and tbh it felt better in the drama. so like in one word the ost and the drama blended so well.

I would say that definitely watch it. you can read the webtoon of same name. The drama adaption is slightly changed since we know how conservative korean society can be. But this is a big milestone in BL. I am glad many idols are coming forward about LGBT and supporting these dramas. Definitely 10000/10 drama.

I love the chemistry! Superb!

Its the chemistry that carry the story well.
My first time to review a BL series. I really like how Jae Chan and Seom Ham potraiyed the character well. I never did this review with To My Star (which this series started the “bar” level of a Korean BL series).
The good thing about this series is every eps is around 20+ minutes. One thing to comment is they may have extend further ep 8. Overall a very good show.
My top 3 BL:-
Semantic Error

best kbl

This is the best kbl, the acting and cinematography are superb, they’re in different level!
I love the storyline bc it’s neat, somehow this drama makes the original story fluffier
The casts are sooo good. Can’t even imagine a better sangwoo and jaeyoung, even their friends’ casts are so good too
The osts are sooo good, it fits the drama so well! a whole bop, I’ve been listening to it for a week straight
I hope there will be season 2, it’s okay to wait for 2 years as long as the casts are still the same, it will be more fun to watch how their relationship to develop in season 2.

A beautiful cast with a beautiful relationship ❤️

Another great hit out of park. Just the right amout of everything. This was definitely a beautiful story of 2 college guys that dont know each other, but are looking for each other. Sang Woo is a junior and very smart, but not gullible and is part of a group project that everyone hoping he'll do it. Wrong* instead he calls them out and they get a F and some cant graduate college like Jae Young. Jae young goes on a man hunt to find Sang woo and in the intrum sang woo is looking for a game designer. Once they meet S. W. explains he hates liers and people are responsible for their own work. This causes J.Y. to annoy S.W. for a few days when he realizes that its not bothering him at all so now he wants to understand JW better and how his mind works. Then when a girl Ryu Ji Hye who likes S. W. comes into the picture he finds himself interrupting them on many occasions. The physical connection and personality makes them the perfect pair once they figure out how they each need and fit into each other lives. I enjoyed the other cast members as they also did a wonderful job. I enjoyed Song Ji Oh who played Choi Yu na and how she looked to be tuff, but was funny and playful a needed part (hope to see more of her acting) same with Hyeong Taek and his crazy hair.
The kiss seens between Sang woi and Jae Young were spot on that you could feel the attraction and emotions and it wasnt fake, it was hot 🔥. I like the personality that Sang woo gives off that everything has it place, but then he becomes the aggressive one in the relationship and surprises J. Y. facial expressions are just to cute. Just love it sorry it ended would love to see more if them.❤️🔥❤️🔥🙂

The chemistry is off the charts!

Two main characters have such great chemistry. It's amazing. The story is simple. Nothing outlandish happens. It's very cute and heartwarming. It had that perfect amount of angst caused by pining and stubborness. The slow build up from enemies to lovers was soo worth it.
The actors did a great job. The main couple complimented each other so well on screen. I also really enjoyed all the side characters. Everyone was so perfect for their role.
I was thinking whether I wanted second season or not, cause on one hand I feel like this story deserves more, but on the other I don't know what the second season could be about without the creators coming up with some convoluted conflict (as it often is for second seasons). Right now it's perfect as it is.

Masterpiece

I don't usually write reviews ....but this bl deserves it ... In my pov (*since i am reading the manhwa and watched the drama as well) this drama was so well made ...it deliverd everything and every emotion well enough ....even tho at a point i thought that the ending will feel rushed since the manhwa is not complete yet and they skipped many chapters from it but yet they showed us everything 😅😅 its complicated .....

But i am happy since i can still read it coz the manhwa is still ongoing ....😘😘

SWEET, SHORT, CONCISE, BUT FULFILLING

Mar. 10, 2022

OMFG, Sematic Error adaptation is just chef's kiss. As someone who has read the manhwa of it, I try not to compare them together as obviously this is an adaptation and that there are some differences. But I just wanna throw it out here that for those who wanna see more details and understand each lead, PLEASE READ THE MANHWA. It's really good.

Is there even more to say? The leads are lovely, I want them so much. Can I please have both of them 🙈

But as with most Korean BLs, this is for someone who wants a concise and easy to follow the plot. If you are looking for yk the typical full-length kdramas, this is ain’t it for you! But please really do consider reading the manhwas as well. They are both awesomeee!!!

the story itself has potential but this is the first KBL that I watched

I just came across a Tiktok video about Semantic Error and it caught my attention instantly because the acting is good.

Although you can say that the story itself is 'generic' or 'predictable', you can't deny that this is just a good drama. It's not perfect but it's good.

The pacing of the story kinda threw me off at some parts maybe because they crammed the story to fit 8 episodes. Some scenes doesn't really need to be repeated in the next ep considering that the runtime of each ep ranges from 15-30 mins.

Tbh I just finished all 3 seasons of Penthouse and this is a good drama to calm myself down.

Best Korean BL

Okay I am no reviewer but I do want to give my opinion about this BL. I think it's safe to say that in my opinion this was the best Korean BL I have seen. I loved everything about it. I loved the pace of this drama a lot, it wasn't rushed, which I loved. The storyline was good and it even showed how Sang Woo slowly changed and the patience of Jae young was also brilliant. The chemistry was amazing between the two actors and the way they just gave their everything, I loved it so much.

Also can I say that there were a lot of kisses in this drama which I wasn't used to especially for a Korean BL and the kisses were really good, especially that one. I was holding my breath the entire time, the built up tension and the chemistry were seriously on point. This BL is definitely in my top 3 best BL's so far.

Thank you to Seo Ham & Jae chan for giving this BL their all and for being so amazing. Seo Ham, I wish you luck with your enlistment, I a definitely looking forward to your future projects and Jae Chan good luck in your lovely career of course!!

SK HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!

s korea you have raised the bar so high, i feel bad for those who have this as their first BL drama cause it's gonna be so hard to find anything that goes higher.

characters:
ive never read the manwha that goes alongside this LA, but i really fell in love with all of the characters. this could be the fact i am weak for park seoham, but regardless i think both leads played incredibly. the chemistry was there for sure!

acting:
considering this is park seoham's first drama since leaving knk, i think he's done an incredible job of getting himself and his name out there through semantic error. the acting was so realistic and it didnt seem forced or awkward. park jaechan also played sangchu super well, and considering he's only 20, i think he's soon to star in more shows.

music:
THE OST BANGS! PERIOD!

story:
i dont know the story too well myself (again, havent read the manwha) but despite the fact that they had to cram a lot of chapters into only 8 25minute-ish episodes, i think the story progresses well. nothing feels rushed, forced or like theyre trying to get as much content into the episodes as possible, and sangwoo and jaeyoung's relationship and how it develops feels natural. im a sucker for enemies to lovers, so if you are too, definitely give this a watch.

overall:
i haven't loved a k-BL as much as this since 나의 별에게(to my star). i can definitely see myself rewatching this multiple times, and i definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested. im glad sk is finally jumping on the bandwagon of longer episodes, i would love to see a full scale BL k-drama with 45 minute episodes and a full ost.

Absolutely exquisite!

This was SO SO GOOD??? No really, flawless I'm in shock.
Despite all the clichés (storyside talking) it was extremely enjoyable , never heavy, super sweet but also exciting. The two guys' chemistry? Please let me tell you I've never been so connected even with my mirror. This is absolutely a gem. Also is so cute how the story is not just the usual enemys to lovers but it's something different, more like two people with their own flaws and habits and attitudes literally clashing together until they smooth out each other's edges getting more and more comfortable with the other one. Another thing that I loved is how all the "most confident" kisses started from sangwoo, he was not the fish, he was the freaking fisherman I'M HERE FOR THIS I'M LIVING FOR THIS I BREATH FOR BIG A* DUDES MOVED LEFT AND RIGHT BY LITTLE SHY DUDES (the power, us tiny, hold!)

OK I'll breathe, this was GOOD. PLEASE WATCH IT

I HAVE TO SAY THIS ONE OF KOREA'S BEST BL IN HISTORY.

It was excellent in terms of cinematography, production, chemistry, acting, and plot. It did a wonderful job of killing my insides.

Overall, I had a lot of fun reading the manhwa to figure out what was going on. I haven't finished reading the novel yet. They did a fantastic job adapting the novel, manhwa, and series, in my opinion.

To be honest, this series was a roller coaster ride for me! I like that they published two episodes per week, but I'm sad that it ended so soon. Another thing to note is that, despite the brevity of the ending, the plot did not feel rushed. The series was so well-made that, while it left me wanting more, the conclusion left me feeling whole and satisfied. Throughout the final episode, I cried; it was an emotional roller coaster for me to watch.

The chemistry between the two performers portraying the characters is one of the most intriguing features of Semantic Error. Park Jae Chan and Park Seo Ham appeared to be having a good time in their roles. Another thing I love is that there was no awkwardness or tension; instead, they were simply being themselves and blending into the characters perfectly. They had a fantastic chemistry together.

I was thoroughly entertained from the beginning to the last episode, therefore I have no complaints. The plot revolved around them being enemies to lovers at university.

Semantic Error was able to develop characters who were not only incredibly likable, but also demonstrated their growing love for one another. We can see how they're falling in love with each other, as well as why they're falling in love with each other. This series has a great pace to it. This is, without a doubt, my ultimate level of comfort. It will bring a grin to your face and a nice feeling to your heart.
Park Jae Chan (Sangwoo) noted in his post that the majority of his cast mates became true friends to him. He also mentioned that Park Seo Ham had become his best friend, which I thought was adorable. Over the course of their time working together, it's clear that the two grew to like each other and formed a deep friendship. Park Jae Chan stood up for himself and declared, "I can do it," despite the fact that his firm did not want him to take on this role. With his accomplishments, he was able to provide something nice to the fans, directors, and everyone else. He made a best friend at the same time.
