Simple youth drama done right
The story was neither super unique nor groundbreaking, it’s just a simple making friends (and love interests) and the complexities of relationships around them. What I liked about this drama is the existence of “layers” and “depth” which can be observed from the subtle interactions, the storyline’s twists and turns, the dialogues of the characters’ and the depth portrayed from how the plot goes. Namgoong’s character is one of the most interesting and well-written characters I’ve ever seen in a youth drama. He is someone who KNOWS the deal, and STIRS the pot because he knows something is going to be brewing. He makes his efforts as a friend, and he also knows his place/role in their circle. Comecei assistindo esse drama depois de uma sequência de bl’s que, para mim, foram desinteressantes.Me impressionei muito com a história. Quando vi já estava no episódio 10 e nem havia me dado conta. O drama flui muito bem, é leve e fácil de assistir. Gostei muito do ambiente da escola e da sala do conselho estudantil, mas principalmente a sala, porque ela dava uma sensação de aconchego e pertencimento muito grande quando vemos os personagens reunidos lá.
É um dorama doce, trata de forma adolescente o primeiro amor e novas descobertas. Os personagens tem um desenvolvimento redondo, no 16º episódio nenhum deles é igual ao primeiro, todos tiveram um arco fechado. Isso pra mim foi o principal motivo para eu gostar e recomendar o drama. A trama se da basicamente por um triângulo amoroso, mas foi um dos poucos dramas que esse fato não me incomodou. Os três personagens envolvidos no triângulo tomaram suas decisões e ações de maneira muito plausível, sem drama em excesso e com, surpreendentemente, maturidade.
O fato de serem 16 episódios com 30 minutos de duração também me atraiu muito. Estou acostumada com os kbls sendo sempre curtinhos, quase sem dar espaço pra um desenvolvimento satisfatório da história e dos personagens, mas com esse bl as coisas foram completamente diferentes.
Vale a pena assistir!

an amazing love triangle filled with cuteness but also deep storylines
I’m writing this after i watched the show for the second time, and just that tells you how much i loved it.Everything was done right, especially the love triangle. I’m not lying when i tell you that even i knew how it was going to end when watching it again, i still had doubts on who the main character was going to choose lmao.
The best thing to me was the great character development that everyone had, even the “antagonist” ended up changing and being happy in the end. I also appreciated a lot how they incorporated the whole coming out and self acceptance journey, it’s rare for BLs to take that topic seriously like Light On Me did.
My only small complain is that i would have liked a more talkative main character because sometimes it was just too awkward and quiet in my opinion, and also i like more kissing and in general more physical contact, but this is mainly fluff and is a korean show so i understand.
To sum up i’d say that this is a beautiful fluff show, that is able to portray deep scenes and complicated love stories way better than many other series out there!

The Triumph of the Second Lead
I always say that I want a drama where the second lead wins and to everyone who replies "Well doesn't that make them first lead then?", this drama is my answer. It's not just about who the main character has feelings for first or which character is the token "nice and patient one." It's also about the reasons the characters have for falling in love and the reasons why a relationship does or doesn't work out...and I felt like all of those reasons were answered beautifully in this drama.This is exactly what I've ever wanted in every slow burn. Neither of the love interests are forcibly villainized or make stupid decisions to push the romantic plotline — it's simply about how each of them love and live in different ways. Not just for their relationships but even as individuals, every main character had depth and personality, and I just really love looking back and seeing how their friend group came together. True, there are some funny and cheesy high school kdrama cliches, but with how profound and touching the dialogue was, that didn't bother me at all.
The only character who I didn't really care for was a second female lead that came very close to being the typical jealous saboteur; even if there was some redemption and she was nowhere as extreme as other characters I've seen, it was still a little annoying.
This show isn't as long as a regular drama but it's not as short as other web dramas either, and I think this extra time made a huge difference. This will definitely go down as a comfort watch for sure, and there are some lines that will stay with me forever.

Cute high school love triangle, with beautiful character development
I usually hate love triangles as there is often lots of unnecessary drama, but this series was exceptional in the way of portraying the love triangle as a chance for them to grow and change for the better. Da-on with his pushover people-pleasing personality, learned to love himself first. Tae-Kyung learned what love is, and the importance of friends. And my baby Shiwoon learned to properly express his feelings and communicate with others.I love the side characters, Lee So-Hee (could be counted as the antagonist) is portrayed as someone who's arrogant yet extremely confident and brave in pursuing her love for Da-on. She made mistakes, but she learned from them and became a better person because of it. Namgung is that one friend we all need, always supportive care-free, yet gives the best advice and helps the most behind the scenes when it comes down to it. And their teacher is seriously such a ray of sunshine, and so supportive of his students too.
Would I say this series was perfect? Not exactly. But it is an amazing story of friends, love, and growth.

A big break for Korean BL series.
At first, I actually do not want to watch it because it is a Korean Series. Normally, Korean BL series is very short and you could actually combine all the episodes and make it like a movie. But, it reached 16 episodes and longer minutes per episodes which good. This is actually your typical high school BL series. But I would like to commend the cast for doing a great job. They made the series still refreshing and wholesome. Though starting from episode 1, there were clues already who will end up with who, the build up of the story of da on and tae were most highlighted in the story. And I was a bit unsatisfied on how it roll down to the end. Also, there were scenes that were not taken though it was very small details, but for me it is very important. Overall, I am good with this series. But I do not think I will watch it again. Thank you.Was this review helpful to you?
A Perfect K-BL
What can I say?... It was brilliant! Awesome series!!! At first, I thought it was predictable but No. I like all the main and support roles! I don't wanna say a lot and I might reveal a spoiler for those who are abt to watch it. 😜... The story is perfectly written... The actors perfectly fit! Gaon, Tagyeon, Shinwoo, Namgun, SoHee.. ooaaah.. and the teacher.. soo good.. I hope you will have a season 2... I guess you will... At least for the teachers's love interest and for Gaon. Good Series but a Bit too Long
This was a pretty good Korean BL. The acting wasn't as stiff as in some Korean BL, except for the intimate scenes. Except for the balcony scene, the intimate scenes were a little stiff and uncomfortable. Usually it could be overlooked, but this couple is bold enough to hold hands at their homophobic all boys school, so I would have expected less awkwardness with the kissing.I usually hate love triangles, but this worked because the person who isn't chosen needs to work on himself, so that when the right person comes, he won't hesitate again.
I really liked the lead character in this series. He is strange, but his charm is, he speaks what he believes. Also, he had feelings for Daon, but like most high school kids, he got over it fast and moved on to Shin Woo. I like that this was shown as many high school romances seems to be less realistic. Although he and Shin Woo stayed together after high school, he rebounded fast from Daon.
I thought this series was too long and it could have been done in 12 episodes. To be honest, I skipped Ep 15 and fast forwarded through much of Ep 13-14 because it those episodes where of Daon hiding from Tae Geong, and the TG x SW falling in love. Since TG and SW didn't really have that as much chemistry (to me) as TG and Daon, I found it a little boring. Still TG picked the right person, I just think the actors did not have the connection that the TG and Daon actors have.

Realistic story and love triangle
Loved the storyline and the character development of all the characters honestly. The confusion about sexuality and the fear of displeasing the people around you are real problems that some people go through and it was beautifully portrayed. The actors did a fabulous job. It is definitely a shaking experience for some to get to learn your own sexuality is not as easily accepted by society so you try not to think about it but I am glad that all the characters accepted that and that the series ended with a happy friendship between all and the couple we all wanted to end up together.Was this review helpful to you?

It’s was really sweet and good I just feel like there wasn’t enough with the finish and I’d like to see more intamacy in the relationships but I would say if was a nice short bl and I don’t regret watching it as I enjoyed it all the friendship and chemistry was great also the fact it kept me hooked and you were always on the edge made you excited to watch it only the end disappointed me and there definitely could have been more to satisfy the viewers a bit more but overall pretty good I don’t see why you wouldn’t enjoy it as I liked the plotWas this review helpful to you?
Love this show
This is one of my comfort show. I’ve watched it at least 10 times. The characters all are portrayed well and I like the humor and the moments of light hearted fun. It gets serious at points but it’s such a good story about finding yourself, high school life and love and friends. I REALLY wish there was a season 2 going into their college years. I will always have a special spot in my heart for this series. Not to even mention the soundtrack. The music is great in it too! I do wish we got to see the couple together longer because we don’t see much for “happy couple” moments. I would recommend this show to anyone.Was this review helpful to you?

Namguung is the best side character!
was NOT expecting a dildo in the first episode! For which there is no explanation!Anyway, it's a very well made precision engineered little show. I did just want the 3 of them to be together but I guess monogamy has to win.

Even though I don't know anything about makeup, (in some scenes) the neck and face foundation color difference bothers me. I like the teacher most of the time but its funny that he just told shinwoo to just be manipulative (by waiting for when the other parties relationship is vulnerable to swoop in)
