Hu Fei and Zi Yi lure out Master Feng Tian Nan, who pushes the accusations of corruption on his son and manager. Though he is able to appease Hu Fei, it doesn't sit well with Zi Yi. Since their first meeting, Ren Feng and Nan Lan have made a life for themselves and have a daughter. Despite Nan Lan's pleadings, Ren Feng decides to follow a lead to a poison expert who might have more information on the poison that caused the death of his friends, Hu Fei's parents. Naive, trusting idiots

I've seen this again and again in wuxia dramas but it's so frustrating at just how stupid and naive the two male leads, Hu Fei and Miao Renfeng are suddenly made out to be. It's absurdly out of character based on their prior life experiences. But the writers have chosen to make them stupid in order to create plot dramas. Love so much about the series but have really not liked what they've done to both characters now that the prequel is over and they are in the 'current' storyline. Hopefully this plot-induced idiocy will only last a short time once they have setup the drama crisis that their stupidity is leading up to.
