They did not tiptoe around the theme of bdsm

It deviates from the usual kdrama tropes and I love it for that.

I love that it explored the issues of sexual assault, gender inequality and discrimination whilst also making it not seem too forced and commercial.

I also love that it explored the bdsm world in a more open and honest manner. Most kdramas tend to shy away from sex and taboo topics so I found it really refreshing to see one that didn’t treat it as a weird perversion but rather just something normal that shouldn’t affect or involve anyone else and that a woman being into things sexually is nothing for men to fetishise or pry into as it has nothing to do with those who are not involved.

I think that the acting was done very well and the visual effect were exemplary. The music wasn’t really memorable as I got too invested in the story but I don’t think that it was bad.

Overall, I think this is worth the watch although it may not be everyone’s cup of tea and I don’t think it requires the adult rating that it has if you are thinking of western standards.

Highly recommend

I loved it then, I still love it now. I rewatched it after a long time, I remember when i first watched it, I enjoyed it so much that i recommended it to many many people. I still feel the same way, I could still smile so big and get excited for every scene. This is absolutely perfect, and i would say realistic, a beautiful introduction to whoever is curious enough about it. I love how it looked closely and carefully to every single thing. how you can find information, how you can start, how you can and should treat, how feelings are apart from orders and you can't force love, how you should take responsibilities for the decisions you make for instance the one night stands. It tried to comfort people who belong to the group that they're just fine. It went beyond my expectations. The movie was and is absolutely perfect.

This film is a boon

The film is light and entertaining. It helps you explore the various themes with consideration.
All things that I am sure others have also written in their reviews and which I will not repeat here. However, I would like to dwell on Hye Mi and her date gone wrong.
A lot of men on dating apps portray themselves as a dominant, when they don't understand what that means. What it usually means is that they want to do you like they don't care about you and they probably want to hurt you, because they are working out some repressed rage. But being a Dom is mostly about leadership, guidance and LEARNING... helping someone to get to where they want to go whether it's physical or mental.
And so the type of people that you see out on the dating apps or an FL that claim to be a Dom but are inexperienced at it, it's generally easy to identify them very early on. Are some better than others at hiding? Sure but this is why we vet.

Saucy love

I've read that Korean dramas can be clean cut and conservative, while the movies can be a bit edgier. This was definitely edgy!

It was also so refreshing to watch as it dealt with BDSM in a very adult way. I didn't feel like it was approached in a sniggering or childish way. People like different things and the movie explored that.

It explored the consequences of someone trying to be authentic with others. Until we share ourselves with others, we will never know how accepting the other person will be or how supportive. There were some sad moments and some funny moments. There were also some interesting moments - going to the shop and looking at what's offered was eye opening as was what the FL did for the ML. Who knew that the quality of the rope matters?

What I liked: the personality of the ML was so well acted. He was vulnerable but determined in what he wanted.
What I didn't like: the ending was a bit abrupt and a little silly, but also predictable.

It's made me look at all my co-workers in a new way....

WAAAAAAA

So basicaly i don't know how and why but i loved this movie. I got into it faster than i though and i was excited whule watching this movie. The romance here was amazing, when it comes to the comedy it was awesome. I loved how it ended and how they explained everything in the end (all those mysteries). And since i like hot or spicy scenes it made me even happier. But why i gave the rewatch value only 9.5, that is because i don't think that it had to be 2 hours long to feel completed. But aside from that i watched this movie because of the gender and synopsis and like days after deciting what to watch i found out about the ML actor who i knew from Class of Lies. Watched this early as heck in the morning and I loved that I did!!

This movie is wild and funny. I don't know how the actors did it but they did amazing with trying to portray the outlook of how BDSM actually is . BDSM is usually frowned upon by people who don't even know what the concept of it is. leading to some people who are into that kind of thing to not act on it, or tell people that they enjoythis type of thing , as they're afraid to be subject to people's prejudice. But when my man started barking I lost it🤣I don't know how he did it but damn it must have been such an experience for both actors playing roles they've never done before.

SCENES = PICASSO

I would definetly rewatch. I'm not sure if i'll ever be tired of this. I think the actors were amazing, props to them. The scene were great too, more acurate depiction than most bdsm i've seen (Fifty Shades take notes). I wish it left a bigger imprint though in my brain, i feel like i've just finish watching a feel good movie. My rating is 7-8, i loved it but felt like it miss something. My biggest issue with this movie right now, is finding one to top it... If you are looking for my opinion...definetly give it a watch or two.

i’m OBSESSED

firstly.. may this type of love find me some day🥹
but seriously, the actors’ dynamic was amazing, the story was perfect, the ending is so sweet..this movie is now definitely one of my all time favourites💜
The only thing I wish they could have focused on is some sort of aftercare for the sub, because even though he’s a man who consented to all of this.. you can tell it still causes some sort of emotional torment every now and then. So an additional part showing the importance of the balance of “play” and tender aftercare (like cuddling, reassuring words) would have also brought this to the next level

Rewatching for the fourth time today

while reading the reviews, it is obvious the difference in culture and acceptance of these sorts of things. if you read what it was about, I don't know why you bothered to watch it in the first place. this is my fourth time watching this film. I love it so much and every time I get the same thrills and squeals at the beautiful quirky dynamic between them. So many men suffer from depression and feelings of worthlessness because of the types of things that they desire and they cannot tell their partners about it for fear of rejection and humiliation. Unfortunately, they can sometimes step outside of their marriage and relationship in search of this acceptance. Some are lucky and find a woman who will accept them as they are. Our sexuality is only a small part of our lives, but if we don't get to be who we are, it can become something we fixate on. I feel like the actors portrayed the awkward and clumsy first stages of relationship in such a cute way. I even like the the supporting actors. The Dog Cafe is such a great and adorable place. What a shame we don't have more cat and dog cafes in the States.
