good casting, interesting plot, binged in 1 day
i absolutely loved how the ml and fl bonded as their relationship deepens. this is my 2nd time seeing both ml (strong woman do bong soon) and fl (20th century girl) and i must say their acting is pretty good! i seriously love the fl character so much in this drama!! i binged watched this in 1 day bc i was sick and bored and this drama really is worth my time. as someone who enjoys horror genre, i do not find this scary at all like how my friends tell me about it. it's just some infected psycho zombies who are desperate to bite humans and infect them and how the ml+fl along with their neighbours try to prevent themself from getting infected. honestly, this drama is more about showcasing the survival/life during the zombie virus breakout and lockdown etc rather than the ml fl trying to eliminate zombies. for me, i feel like my friends just exaggerate the drama too much for me lol(in terms of how "scary" and "intense" it is. anyways i love ml and fl chemistry, both of them their characters really go well with each otherWas this review helpful to you?
Happiness
Park Hyung Sik and Han Hyo Joo's chemistry and acting were really good, she was literally perfect as a badass character and his role was something I did not expected from him. To be honest I love productions with zombies so there was never a chance I would miss it. "Villains" were so f*cking annoying, I wished them only bad things but that proves how well it was written and played. Love the ending. Also I believe that 12 episodes were perfect amount for this drama. If someone loves the main cast, zombie show then it is perfect for them

sometimes ‘sane’ people are the actual monsters.
this is not your average “fighting monsters” drama, infact it's actually not about it at all. at first i was vary about watching this thinking it'd be just another zombie apocalypse with no explanation as to why it began or how it'll end but still decided to give it a try.IT IS DIFFERENT. when i started watching it all of my concerns were proven false. and this is NOT a zombie apocalypse drama too btw. it's about how even with sick people around, people with a healthy body prove to be more dangerous. the show had all the different kind of people you do meet atleast once in your life as characters, when u watch some characters and their decisions, you feel like asking yourself “what would I have done in this situation?”
there are some very well shot action scenes and touching emotional scenes that do make you want to want to change their situations only hoping for the better.
every single episode was like a well fit puzzle piece and as the drama progresses the characters’ real faces also start showing up. like i said in the beginning, this drama is all about “are sane people any better than the monsters?”
unlike other apocalypse/pandemic dramas where you're never really told how things began or how it is ever going to be stopped, happiness had answers for EACH AND EVERYTHING. when the drama is done it'll not leave you wondering about anything because everything is cleared in there.
the main duo's chemistry is soo good, whether it be action scenes, emotional scenes, scenes where they fight for each other and for what's right, their characters always match up with each other's chemistry. even the little girl showed more maturity than some “aDuLtS” showing it's not always age proving how mature one is.
overall, i did not regret watching this at all and i will rewatch it in a few months because it's just THAT GOOD. edit : did re-watch it haha.

This show doesn't like to waste time.
I hardly write any review. This drama has some majestic soundtrack/ost. It has a different approach from the other zombie movie or series. Watching this drama was a great experience. I kinda want a second season but it has proper conclusion. Action was 10 on 10 . I want more of them .It didn't waste my time. I know it's nothing new but for some reason watching it was not boring rather i was a bit excited. It has a thrill in it.
At the end i wanna be a little selfish and i am asking for season 2. I want to watch more of them - more of them .

Not scary and not horror
I heard it was a type of zombie drama so I was hesitating pretty much because of it but I decided to watch because I loved the leads and I really glad I did.Is happiness the state of being happy or the striving to be happy?
I didn't understand this line at the beginning but I totally got what they were going for in the end.
The drama shows the easy friendship between the main leads. They are always there for each and depend on each other. The FL sassiness really uplifted the drama.
Definitely worth a watch.

When Zombies are sort of the Least of your Problems
My Rating: 9.5/10(My daughter, who’s in her 30s, gave it a full 10/10. She doesn’t typically like zombie movies at all, but she really enjoyed this one.)Review (No Spoilers)
I am not normally a zombie movie kind of person. The genre has just been done so many times. But this was good because it was a different take on zombies. There was also more to it than just fighting zombies. There was a romance. A lot of interpersonal relationships and conflict. The characters were well developed. I recommend it to zombie fans, of course, because even though it isn’t the “classic” zombie movie, it is definitely a fit for that monster-movie vibe in that aspect. It’s not very sad in the traditional sense, and it ends well—wrapped up as happily as it could be for a movie of this type.
Spoilers
What made the zombies so interesting was that they weren’t undead—no reanimated-corpse vibe at all. They weren’t completely mindless either. It was a fresh, different type of zombie that gave the whole story more depth and surprise. Yoon Sae-bom is supposed to be special forces, but she rarely does anything that would show she has the skill to that caliber. Her husband, Jung Yi-hyun, who is a beat cop, seems far more specially trained than she is. I wish she had been more of a badass. When Andrew the psycho had the gun on them, both had so many opportunities to take him out, especially her as supposed special forces. They didn’t give a lot of tender moments with the couple. I think they liked each other from the get-go—I mean, that is why she married him. I also wish we had more of a view of what was going on around that building. They did a great job of showing how shitty some people would be in such a situation. All the greed, selfishness, envy—all comes out. We really did not get the “normal” either. Not even sure who the other antibody carrier was. And Han Tae-seok, the soldier-scientist guy, went through all that to save his wife and it seems it didn’t really save her. Where did this virus come from? The pills? Who made the pills and why? I had some questions. That is why it was more like a 9.5/10 for me.

Why is it getting so many bad reviews??
guys, I actually liked this kdrama. it's a bit confusing at first, but then you start to get it. the neighbors are really annoying, but they're the comedic part of the drama. it's good because it hooked me from the first episode, great way to kill the time. people are being way too critical, but I think it's because they start watching expecting intense horror, and it's not quite like that... anyway, I loved it, it was a great way to spend some time!!p.s: the main couple is awesome, the actors act really well. the soundtrack isn’t that great, but it works.
p.s²: I’m just not giving it a perfect score because the ending wasn’t very well explained — I was like ?????? trying to figure it out what exactly happened.

So underrated
I've already watched this drama in 2021 and I've re-watch this today. The feeling of watching this drama amidst the pandemic is different from today cuz it's like it reflected on what's happening before and during the pandemic lockdown but still love it a lot. It's one of my fav kdrama. Until now this drama is so underrated, I hope watchers can feel what I feel when my first time watching it cuz it deserves praise and support. The chemistry of main characters are so good, I am still hoping for them to be together for real. hahaha. Was this review helpful to you?
The title threw me off but overall SO UNDERRATED!
Perfect quick paced mini-series with a lot of action, sweet sweet romance build (nothing intense but just the RIGHT amount from beginning to end) and a roller coaster of emotions.Truly love how this drama depicts MENTAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SPIRITUAL abuse, trauma, fortitude etc!! Really loved how it also showed the importance of family, love, trust vs betrayal, hatred, and desperation!
Also loved ALL the cast + characters, really befitting, and honestly such a charismatic female lead and loved Han Tae Seok!!
The chemistry between the two leads were absolutely adorable, charismatic, yet such a sweet romance (nothing cringey or lovey dovey sorts).
Overall, if you're looking for a quick, straightforward drama this is IT! However, be prepared!! :)

A Fresh and Addictive Zombie Story
I watched Happiness together with my husband, and honestly, we really enjoyed it. This was one of those series that you just keep watching — “okay, one more episode”… and suddenly it’s late. We really binge-watched it.First of all, I just love a good zombie story, and this one felt fresh and original. It’s not just about the zombies, but also about people, fear, and how quickly things can change in society. That made it extra interesting.
The main characters, played by Han Hyo-joo and Park Hyung-sik, were honestly so good. They are both strong and cool characters, but in a very natural way. Not over the top, not exaggerated — just believable and solid. That made it easy to root for them.
And their chemistry? Really great. You can feel the trust and connection between them without it being overly dramatic or forced. It’s subtle, but strong, and that works perfectly for this kind of story.
What I also really liked is how all the characters are written. Even the side characters feel real and have their own personalities. You see how people change under pressure, and that makes the story more intense and sometimes even frustrating — in a good way.
The story itself is super exciting. There’s constant tension, and it really keeps you on edge. Even though most of the story takes place in one main location, it never felt boring to me. They managed to keep it dynamic and interesting the whole time.
Overall, this is just a very solid, entertaining, and well-made series. If you like zombie stories with a bit more depth and strong characters, this is definitely one to watch.
