wow
i binge watched it all. its relatively short. i wish there was more content and the episodes were longer but overall i enjoyed this show. didnt like that blue guy tho. i hate blue guy. I think the show has great aspects to it but it needs more romance. More razzle dazzle that makes your heart quench. The kind that makes you so flustered that you bury your head in your pillow and jump around. I hope theres more content coming in the future. When the premise slows the story too much
Even though this is a short show, I'm a bit surprised with how little actually happened. The main concept is not super original, but it seemed like an interesting idea, considering the setting of the show and it being a BL.I feel like this show doesn't deliver romance, drama or twists. We spent too much time watching the annoying sister being annoying, and that doesn’t really give us anything more than the apple painting in the skirt. I understand that it was important to show that Ki Wan actually cared, but it took too long. A small portion of me kinda hoped that Ki Wan could give Tae Hyung a chance.
The ending is okay. With that being said, I have to say that the kissing scene in the end was beautifully shot.

ENJOYABLE AND GOOD BL SERIES!
It's true that there are lots of noticeable lackings, but for me it's understandable since it's only a short BL series, and I think it also does not have that much budget. I still enjoyed it though, so yeah, ten stars! It has a good storyline and the two male leads did a quite nice job in portraying their roles. I can't say the same for some of the side characters though. I love their sweet moments, it really made me smile a lot. It's nice to watch this kind of series, without that much intensity, just a relaxing romantic story.Was this review helpful to you?
very fun to watch!
i love this drama! everyone’s reviews scared me, but i still watched it and was not disappointed! obviously the production and stuff wasn’t all that top notch because BL K dramas and films are still new to south korea, so the budgets for these movies and dramas aren’t gonna be that high. i still enjoyed this very much though! it was simple and sweet. the bottom was sooo cute omg he was pretty as a woman and as man. i loved how kind he was to everyone, and didn’t make a fuss about being a replacement bride for his sister. i wish they made more historical bl dramas like this :)Was this review helpful to you?
Beautifully Shot
I did enjoy the overall aspects of this drama. I was impressed with the production level of this show. I think that many Korean dramas are getting better and better in terms of cinematography and acting. I was not that impressed with how the story unraveled. I wish there had been a bit more comedy. and maybe a bit more romance, too. Overall, the acting, costumes and scenery was pretty good. I have enjoyed the three dramas the three main leads were in before this show. I am glad I finally watched it.Was this review helpful to you?
Seeing those three BL actors from 3 different series, made my brain always associate to evey one of them with their respective series (before this)
Apart from that, this series is still worth watching and finishing in a short amount of time. That was a good idea, isn't it?

Cukup menarik sebenarnya tema yang diangkat, tapi lagi-lagi BL korea selalu terkesan buru-buru. Sampai-sampai konflik yang diangkatpun diselesaikan begitu cepat. Padahal jika dikembangkan lebih dalam, series ini punya potensi yang bagus untuk bisa jadi sesuatu yang istimewa.
Melihat ketiga aktor BL dari 3 series yang berbeda, membuat otakku selalu mengaitkan satu dengan yang lainnya terhadap series mereka masing-masing (sebelumnya)
Diluar dari hal itu, series ini masih layak untuk ditonton dan diselesaikan dalam satu waktu yang cepat. That was a good idea, isn’t it?

Quite refreshing to watch historic BL
It did well given how short it's, although it doesn't leave me feeling WOW.I love the idea of historic BL, more pls! also, love how pretty all the casts are and the music is a bomb! one of the best BL Ost ever!
Overall, it's quite a good watch. It's exciting enough to keep you watching, but anything longer than this would feel like a drag. I feel that the couple are quite reserved ,perhaps because it's Josean era setting. But that seems to take out some of the chemistry in a way
It's a relaxing watch for a lazy day, especially if u need a break from intense drama
Otherwise, it's also sth you can afford to miss, esp since there are lots of great BL drama, unless u run out of one to watch, like me..lol

Review:This is a sweet little nugget this is. Perfect for a cozy sunday afternoon light affair with earnest performances & an engaging simple story. it's a fun premise: a man disguised as his sister gets married to the boyish nobleman ryu and a sweet friendship that grows into a deep fondness ensues. . It has a good balance of sincerity & fluff with the golden charm of a 16th-17th century Korea.
However the scale of the story is small, there are no subplots or any garnishing or detailed sets - there's a charming simplicity to the scope of this story - it gets right to it with 8 short episodes but you'll find yourself appreciating it.
extra notes:
-I really like the actors, both adorable and convincing. I like the way Nobleman Ryu's face holds the gaze of the camera - I like his closeups. You see the vulnerability & restraint -it's adorable.
-The production value isn't high enough for a period piece but they've managed to create something special and with quality.
-I'm sure if the budget was higher the scale of the story would be more expansive, with more characters, details & parallel storylines - the story lends itself to a bigger scale easily - wouldn't mind if this was ever remade with 20 eps - it would work.

A lot in a little bit of time
I will start by saying that this show is really refreshing. I did not expect much coming into it after seeing the rating, but being familiar with both of the main actors, I was definitely curious. Also, the show is about a total of 64 minutes (shorter than a movie!) so It didn't take much to fly through it. I will say this, it was ambitious as all heck! There were a lot of things that could've been better developed if the show had the budget. That being said, it was an actual historical drama with actual BL content. Not just bromance. It obviously moved too quickly for anyone to believe that the two were truly in love, especially considering the marriage was arranged. It was sweet nonetheless. The moments where they assisted each other with various tasks and worked together to fool the family were absolutely cute. The main issue was pacing, which is why I call this drama ambitious. There were multiple issues that were resolved too quickly, but if you're looking for cute BL stuff and like the actors, then I would say watch it 100%. although i love both of the leads cast here, i can't say this is a good representation of either of their skills in acting. i also do not enjoy the way the story was written/directed here. there's a lot of lack of connection for both the characters, and it's hard to understand how exactly they developed feelings. part of this boils down to just how incredibly short the episodes are, but also the lackluster script & storytelling abilities from the producer.this could've been a lot better, but oh well. it's just a casual watch so i don't recommend this to anyone looking for something engaging or with substance.

Silly, slightly off-beat, good fun... but nothing more
I was actually surprised by how much I liked this series. I went into it with very low expectations given the reviews but I actually had a pretty good time watching it.It's true, this show has many obvious flaws, the main one being how much plot the writers tried to force into such a short runtime and the choppy editing does not help.
These 80-90 minute shows are always pretty densely packed and most of them use these constraints to their advantage but here there was simply too much going on for there to be any time left to get to know the characters properly or even for them to get to know each other, which is obviously a problem when you're trying to tell a story centered around a relationship.
If they had done away with the love triangle (which isn't even really a triangle at all) and some of the sister's meddling and had instead focused on showing a growing connection between our leads then this story could honestly have been great.
That being said, the series is still engaging and entertaining as it is. The performances are solid, the visuals are beautiful and the overall production quality is pretty high.
The characters feel like actual, real people and they lend the whole set-up, contrived and ridiculous as it may be, a certain seriousness and credibility as well as some genuine emotional impact.
I personally also really enjoy the dynamic between the main characters. It would have been easy to box them into hetero-normative relationship roles, I mean one of them is literally playing "wife", but unlike so many other stories that's not what happens here. There are no "haha man in a dress" jokes, no cheap comedy at the expense of queer people's dignity.
Both mains treat each other with a lot of respect and each try to fix the situation as best they can.
Between the two of them Kiwan is the more energetic and confident while Hosun is slightly more reserved, but neither of them are particularly broody, bubbly, or generally over-the-top so they actually mesh quite well with one another.
Their dynamic also doesn't change when Kiwan drops his disguise and goes back to his regular appearance, they just continue on as before without any panic or sexuality crisis on Hosun's part which I really appreciate.
The ending is also very sweet and ties off the story quite well, even if there are many plot-holes left unaddressed.
All in all this show is worth watching if you're in the mood for something breezy, fun, and slightly different in the vein of Tinted With You. And maybe one day we'll get a historical queer romance that's actually good as well as fun. Until then this will do just fine.

My least favourite by far
I know Korean BLs have a limited budget and a way shorter length than others but most of the ones I've watched so far have more or less had a well-developed storyline while this one felt a little bit disjointed but enjoyable nevertheless.I loved seeing all of the actors in this one again and I'm convinced that Korea will soon have its own group of BL actors and I can't wait.
As a whole, this was a nice and enjoyable drama that you can binge in a day for the lucky ones who decided to watch it after it was completed.
