A story of true love for EVERYONE, straight or gay; great script - and voila! well acted too

Super cute, realistic, and very funny story of true love. A true rom-com.

A rare jdrama that has good acting.
The script is great. This is a story of true love as it is in real life, to normal nice people. It is sexy in good taste, it is caring without soapy, it is very very very GENUINE and realistic and HEALTHY. It does not have false prudishness like most straight kdramas have, and it does not have overdone lewdness and twisted sexuality - esp. associating s.x with violence and games - like so many BL dramas have.

>>>> I recommend this drama to anyone - straight or not, young or old, first timers or married for 100 yrs. <<<<<

The drama shows what true love looks like, acts like and thinks like......

A super cute story of true love. So different than most BL dramas which honestly are too lewd and/or playing games. This drama too has a very common plot of a convinced gay male who runs into a closeted gay male and kinda shocks him and cajoles him into it, however, it lacks the sexualization and predatory feeling that so many BL dramas have. This drama is UNIVERSAL, you could play it with straight ppl too.

The plot is actually a mimic on the common straight plot from kdramas - a popular charmer suave guy falls in love with a clumzy insecure not-popular shy loser chick who is KIND good person. In the straight context, this plot is super sexist. The female is the dumb one and the male is the smart one who runs her life bc she is so incompetent she cannot survive on her own. Such dramas glorify the man as the "higher" one.

In this gay drama, the main protagonist is an insecrure clumzy unpopular shy target of love.
But how it is done is so ... well done. It does not put anyone down, nor does it make the "more suave" person more "interesting" or "higher" in status

I would encourage everyone to read the review that is on the top of MDL reviews, by TsangYang. It says it all :) I just filled in some holes.

This drama reminds me of BL kdrama Heesu from Class 2 which talks about two gay male high schoolers in love and one of them getting out of the closet. Heesu drama also has positive female models and does not portray life as "planet inhabited by gay males" as most BL dramas do. Hessu drama is balanced, just like this drama.

A Lighthearted Sweet Romance!

I'm so much in love with Adachi & Kurosawa!!!

BL drama popularity has been on the rise and that just made these dramas lose quality. Pretty much every BL has a similar cliched plotline. I was starting to get a bit tired of watching these overused tropes over and over again. BUT THIS DRAMA MADE ME FALL IN LOVE WITH THE WORLD AGAIN!

The story felt so fresh and original. I guess the fantasy trope of being able to hear people's thoughts seems a bit tacky, BUT GUYS, YOU NEED TO WATCH THIS DRAMA...IT'S SOOO GOOD! I ended up bingeing it in a single day including the special episodes, I'm planning on watching the movie too.

Why watch it, you ask?
Lovable characters...Every character is very unique and well-written.
Lots of humour and fun, you'll never get bored watching this drama.
There's no toxicity involved. The way they both love and support each other is so sweet.
Awesome cast who made sure their characters were played perfectly.
Awesome soundtracks.

My favourite element in the whole drama is the character development Adachi goes through. He was an introverted guy, really shy and demure but a sweet, talented guy. His skills and capabilities all go unnoticed by people because he's so demure. I love how he finally becomes determined to become the best version of himself just for Kurosawa.
So guys, as I've told you multiple times - JUST GO WATCH IT.

‼️SPOILERS‼️This show will always be my favorite!!

Where do I even begin?? This consept is just so uniqe and I loved watching every single bit of this show. I watched it back when it was still airing and oh my, i’m not one to replay shows at all because I get bored really fast but I’ve watched this show at least 3 times which is 2 times over what I normaly do which to me says something!

The actors are funny in the show like a lot of japanese BL’s tend to have a lot of, but I grew super quick to like the characters! Kurosawa is so handsome and Adachi aswell with a cuteness to him.

I LOVED the scene where Adachi was sick and Kurosawa came over and slipped, my heart jumped out of my chest! But again to circle back, I love the cozy feel to this show and even tho we had close calls here and there with the main couple, they never kiss or anything like that! Which is just perfect. I hate how a lot of newer shows always has to have very sexual scenes, but this has only one or two? but that’s only the side couple! Idk I just thought it was a good thing in this show. It shows people that the show itself doesn’t have to have sexual scenes or kiss scenes in order for it to be watchable or good, it just made sense for this show to be so cozy and not overly sexual at all. And it didn’t kill the romance at all!

I loved this show and it’ll always have a special place in my heart! 🩷

Stunning On All Levels, A Must Watch Romance

I have rewatched the series and telemovie at least twice. This is a wonderful love story, that so many people will relate to. Akaso Eiji is one of those actors who can speak with eyes, and express emotions without saying a word, and has fantastic physical comedy ability; Keita Machida says so much with just a smile or simple movement. Several of the support actors really shine in the smallest moments. It should be made available on Netflix as it is such a fantastic, modern dramedy that begs for a huge audience. A do not miss ! Although it is highly restrained (the kisses are few and are disguised by elevator doors etc), the chemistry and love of the two MLs is obvious and you will watch with a smile on your face.

If you are looking to escape from reality, Cherry Magic is definetly for you!

At first, I'm not typically interested in this kind of story, especially after reading the synopsis of the series. But after It kept on appearing on my TikTok For You Page, I think I might give this series a shot. And I'm glad I did! At first, I deem the magic/wizard theme kinda tacky, but when I started watching I was immediately drawn in. I really like the unique concept. Especially with the acting of both actors of Kurosawa and Adachi, makes me ever more into this series. It's the type of JBLs that gives you butterfly and tingles while watching! What I like the most from this series is the unrealistic happy LGBTQ couple (I know It's weird but hear me out..). Kurosawa is literally a "Perfect Man".. He's sweet, EXTREMELY understanding and a loving man. You aint getting anyone like that IRL LMFAOO... But I really get the backstory on why Kurosawa started to like Adachi. Adachi is the only one that understand his feeling and actually remember that he IS an human being. Moreover, with the numerous amount of JBLs I've watched, I would definetly put Cherry Magic on number #1!!!! You should go ahead and watch it if you haven't!

My first and probably fav bl

Adachi is a 30 year old virgin can read minds and finds out one of his coworkers is into him, and he’s a man. It’s so interesting with the mind reading and a good romance and story. Some might find the style of comedy cringy or over exaggerated but I simply love it but it was jarring at first.

The characters are amazing with Fujisaki (my goat), Kurosawa is a freak and jealous king and Adachi my little scaredy cat, Rokkaku my hyperactive annoying in a good way son. We also have aroace representation/a coded character and I’m really glad that they exist (not telling you who for plot purposes).

There’s issues with it, the main couple doesn’t kiss and the second couple is so awful and doesn’t even need to be in the show I can’t stand them mostly because they never actually seem in love and have an age gap that makes them incompatible in my opinion.

super cute and wasnt too cheesy for me, i kin adachi sm. this is great to watch when you want to pass time or are bored. the side couple wasnt my fav but thats okay, still great! adachi and kurosawa were great characters and the acting was superb. i wish we had a few more episodes of fluff in their relationship, and maybe some more kiss scenes? haha.

Very nice!

This was a great drama, i watched it in one sitting. I really enjoyed it a lot!
A lot of people can relate to this story, the insecurity, the longing at a distance, it was al so well shown in this drama.
I wasn't fond of the intro song, but the rest of the music was good, so were the visuals.

Both actors are very likable and did an amazing job portraying their characters. The dynamics between them were also great.

A real must watch and i wil be watching this again in the future.

The Wizards Entertained Me

This show was just plain charming. It does fall into the "overly sanitized" category of Japanese shows, but the romantic chemistry between the leads was so palpable and they expressed their affection for each other so often and so genuinely that I even started to have a little bit of fun with how much the show was teasing the audience with almost showing the two kiss but then stopping short at the last second. Sure it was frustrating (as, personally, I am someone who doesn't place too much stock in more explicit scenes, but does value realistic physical affection between characters who love each other, be it romantic love, or platonic, or any other sort) but by the end it felt almost tongue-in-cheek and some of those moments (looking at you, closing-elevator-doors-scene) honestly made me chuckle.

Some personal highlights (aka Things I Loved):
- The entire concept. It's silly, it's goofy, it's weirdly romantic, it shouldn't work but it really really does.
- Tsuge and his friendship with Adachi. Tsuge is a strange little man who feels too much, too often, all at once and it only seems to make him more determined to figure out what he wants out of life and how to be there for the people he cares about. I find him delightful and his relationship with Minato, while fairly uneventful, is quite sweet.
- Fujisaki Nozomi and everything she represents. While the word "asexual" is never explicitly used to describe Nozomi, she did set off my spidey-senses, my ace-detector if you will, and by the end I was convinced, yes this is an asexual woman not just existing but thriving and I adore her to pieces. Her storyline touches on the importance of self-love and directly counters the idea that romantic love is what makes life fulfilling. Not only is this an important and meaningful topic to address, it also serves to balance out the fairly romance focused main plot and lends depth and complexity to several other characters' arcs that may otherwise have been lacking.

In conclusion: This is a charming and easy-to-watch rom-com with some unexpected yet very welcome depth to it. It's fun, it's wholesome, go watch it with your friends, your family, hell, watch it with your grandparents, it's so clean and inoffensive they might just love it.

Best BL drama I’ve watched! Go watch it!!

I have watched this series at the very least 6x probably more, it is soooo good. Kurosawa is the greenest of green flag characters and Adachi is the cute, innocent type.
Without giving it all away here I can tell you it’s just so lovely. The story from beginning to end just has you beaming.
Even the side characters made me laugh and root for them although I will be honest after the first two times I now skip their parts (sorry)
The movie was the perfect ending to it. I still wanted more lol but the movie completed it when the series felt like it just needed that little bit extra.
Ah if you haven’t already please go watch it you will absolutely love it. These two are my absolute favourites. 🥰

Cherry Magic is the best japanese bl for me.After finishing this serie I can't watch other bl series because I'm afraid that other series won't reach Cherry Magic standard.I'm not usually a review writer but with this I have to write one.I don't usually watch jp series or bl because they act so soft that I only watch bl movies and series from Europe and America. This serie, Cherry Magic is my first JP BL serie and it make me want to watch others jp BL too.
Cherry Magic is my gem.As a recap, Cherry Magic is serie about two colleagues Adachi and Kurosawa.Adachi is a introverted person and Kurosawa is a extrovert.Just like the title Adachi gain Maho(power)that can read mind by touching someone.Just after he got power he found out that his colleague Kurosawa is crush on him.U see that the serie have supernatural element and it is refreshing for a bl serie.Because other series stuck on school theme or other cliche story. But Cherry Magic story is refreshing, heart warming and humorous.
The chemistry between Adachi and Kurosawa is so beautiful and so cute.I started watching this serie because I like the actors.I known Adachi actor from Kamen rider built and other movies and series. And I known Kurosawa actor from Alice in borderland.I even broke my heart because of the dead of him that serie. In Cherry Magic the tension and chemistry between the two characters are so damn cute, beautiful and heart warming.I love them so much even in character or not.Whenever I saw them together my heart skip a beat.
There is no niche episode. All of them are top-notch.After watching ep 1 I want to watch on and on and again and again.Because the serie itself is beautiful. On every ep,when Adachi and Kurosawa interreact I can't breath,my chest tighten and I scream,I pound my bed and I said"Omg I can't take it anymore they are super cute". Their thoughts are sometimes adorable, sometimes humorous and watching them is a soup for my soul. After I finished Cherry Magic I can't stop thinking about them. They brought me smile everytime I watch them.
Cherry Magic is all time best JP BL serie and it is a ♾️/10 serie.U guys won't understand the feeling I got while I'm watching this serie.i super recommend u guys to watch this beautiful, wholesome and relatable serie. And I forgot that the serie make beautifully without steamy scene and I like that idea. Not every bl need sex scene.

I'm sorry if I said something wrong because this is my first review,Thank You.
