Shen Bu Yan has a falling out with his editor-in-chief when he is forced to write a trilogy on a Sheng dynasty book he released with little historical documentation. He goes missing and ends up in the Sheng dynasty, meeting Lu Yuan, the infamous Demon Queen who mysteriously knows him. All available historical documentation paints her as a ruthless Empress.
