Sensitive topic handled well

S Korea has the highest suicide rate in the OCED. It is therefore unsurprising that some brave souls have decided to explore this sensitive subject. Without pontification or moralistic judgement, the show explores the motivations for suicide and takes a sympathetic look at the personal life histories, as well as societal pressures and judgements surrounding the would-be suicide victim.

To achieve this sensitive exploration, the show takes a step back and relies on the introduction of the supernatural - not the Grim Reapers but a protection team that goes in and tries to stop the suicide from even occurring. How nice that Heaven would think of that (and this is addressed at the beginning of the series!) To do so, they delve into the victim's past. Although they're not allowed to change the past, they help the victim to come to terms with a turning point in their lives that caused great regret and thus led to repercussions for the rest of their lives.

The drama could very easily have been a pseudo time-travel cum afterlife show, and we've also seen many Grim Reaper shows where someone tries to help the deceased resolve his/her last wishes or right an injustice that cause them to lose their lives. However, this show is a fresh take on the genre of supernatural Grim Reaper/karma shows. Each episode or so deals with a different victim, so the show is kept fresh because if you find a certain story boring (some stories are quite draggy), you know that it'll end. Also, always stay tune for the Epilogue at the end of each episode.

I enjoyed watching the show because the ups and down kept me entertained. There were humorous bits that made me laugh, touching bits that made me cry, as well insightful ponderances by someone on the verge of death that left me reflecting for days about the meaning of life. My favourite episode was episode 7, about an old man who spent his life collecting recyclable junk. Without giving too much away, that was my favourite episode as it was extremely meaningful.

Kim Hee Sun has chosen good scripts throughout her career, and this one hasn't disappointed either.

Accurate and Life Saving

Having read a good portion of the webtoon (up to ep. 143) I was thrilled with how accurate the characters are in their looks and personalities and that specific cases/stories from the webtoon were represented almost verbatim. The acting is over the top as intended considering its webtoon origin.

Many different issues were addressed that are high risk situations that often lead to suicide and I believe it was all very eye opening and helpful to see who may need help. Mental health is still a touchy issue in South Korea but they're starting to break barriers by addressing suicide as a real and preventable issue.

I intend to keep the things I learned from this drama in my mind in order to be on the look out for people who may need someone to simply talk to them and let them know there is someone who sees them and notices that they are having a hard time.

I highly highly recommend this drama even though it's not finished yet because I know how important these issues are and more people need to hear the messages they're sending. Please don't bea part of silencing these voices and be aware. Someone near and dear to you may be struggling and you have the power to do something before it's too late.

After watching this show up until episode 9, I totally love this drama. I cannot stop binge watching this drama since episode 1, it's very addicting. I would recommend this drama to people who love fantasy / grim reapers, it's dark but sometimes funny.... Wonderful. Absolutely Intriguing. Perfect thriller and fantasy drama. I loved this show. This was worth it to watch it for around 16 hours of 16 episodes.

Great Drama that touches on so many societal issues

One of the best kdramas ever. Its a drama that heals a lot of wounded people. Now I know there is a controversy with BTS. I respect BTS as a group. I ADMIRE THEM for their ability of conquering the world. However, i don't condone what some ARMYs are doing. Some are even going so far as to put death threats on the casts, who are innocent in this matter. Pls take the issue up with MBC instead of sabotaging a good drama or blaming the casts! I implore you to use your morals and senses. Don't blindly believe what you have read in the articles or shares. MBC has already apologised over the unintended error. So pls don't do this to a drama that aims to bring healing.

Good drama that showcases alot of themes of discussion. Some parts are uncomfortable but i believe the story handles them beautifully and highlights how people suffer. That we as humans shiuld be more conscious of our actions and how we affect others. And how to help others when they need help. And when we ourselves need help, to not bottle it or hide it. Get assistance and to really believe in ourselves and that negative people dont have a place in our lives. The actors and actresses are very wonderful, kim heeson protrays her character excellently. Rowoon is so charming in this drama, i feel i see a new side to his acting and i find it quite endearing. Lee soohyuk is playing his character well protraying someone intimidating and charismatic. The lighthearted humor in the show is most welcome during the difficult that are dealt woth in the show. I liked how they adddressed various amounts of pain, pain that some might considered silly but it is a pain to someone none the less and hurts them alot.

I binge-watched this drama... send help...

I honestly have no idea why I binge-watched this drama. I'm still recovering from the emotional damage every episode gave me.

At first, I was doubtful of the story. I wasn't sure if transforming the concept of a "grim reaper" into a company would be a good idea. I'm so delighted I was proved false. Each episode focuses on a different issue that today's society faces, such as bullying, academic failure, body dysmorphia, and so on. There were various subjects covered, but each episode did so in a respectful and consistent manner. But I warn you to keep a box of tissues nearby whenever you watch. You. Will. Need. It.

The acting was fantastic. The main cast, as well as the supporting and guest actors, performed excellently in emotional scenes. Although we only know a character for an episode or two,  the actor/actress captured each expression so well that viewers bawled their eyes out. It was difficult for me to pick a standout, but in my opinion, it was Lee Soo Hyuk who plays Park Joong Gil, the uptight and serious leader of the Escort Team. Despite having only an average of 5 minutes of screentime each episode, Joong Gil manages to steal the show. This series has turned me into a fan of all of the key characters. (*^_^*)

There are 6 OSTs in total.
➀ J.DON - 'Red Light'
➁ An Da Eun - 'Don't Leave Me, My Love'
➂ Suran - 'My Loneliness Calls You'
➃ Yoo Hwe Seung - 'Still Love You'
➄ BEN - 'My Only One'
➅ Bo Ra (Cherry Bullet) - 'VLV (Viva La Vida'

Out of the 6, my favourite is ➀ J.DON's 'Red Light.' I really love happy-sounding rap songs. 'Still Love You' is also pretty good and I actually prefer it over the original with FT. Island's Hong Gi.

My only gripe about this drama was the ending. I won't go into detail but I just expected a little bit more, y'know??

Honestly, I think this show is a gem. Even after watching the show I'm still thinking about all the characters and their heartbreaking stories. Eun Bi, Jae Soo, Woo Jin, Young Chun, Ye Na, Kong, Yun Hui, Yun Jae, Yu Hwa, Bok Hui, Cho Hui; I hope they live well in their fictional world T0T

aight byeee~

The subject

Real sensitive issues of day to day life are brought on screen.
And they have added an element of fantasy to it which makes it interesting. The production team has done a brilliant job.
Cast is fabulous.

They have different actors for each epsiode plots and they all are brilliant.
If u want a break frm the stereotype rom- coms then u will definitely enjoy watching this.
Rowoon has done justice to his webtoon role as an actor.
Hats off the webtoon artist who came up with such a story.

The BTS controversy is unnecessary and toxic. I hope fans wouldnt create a controversy over trivial matters and ruin the hardwork of an entire team..

It really is worth a watch!!

This drama had me hooked from the beginning!! I was so into it. You guys should definitely watch this, definitely one of the best Grim Reaper dramas. The cast is absolutely HUGEE each and every single one of them played their role perfectly, but only if Lee Soo Hyuk had more screen time. He appeared very little each episode but still slayed all the time. I really hope u guys watch this!! 😁😁 so please just check it out IT REALLY IS WORTH IT!. It was a roller coaster of emotions and managed to make a lot of viewers cry.

Absolutely Brillant

The story address' loss in a very human way alongside not sugarcoating suicide and also not romantizing it. We experience the feelings of guilt and growth.

Episode 9 dives deep into animal loss which hits a common point about how animals will run away if theyre sick or dying to not get anyone else sick or to make their family not feel as sad.

Episode 6 we experience a soliders final day; and the guild and the past he brought along with him.

We also see that suicide can be acted by anyone if your mind gets to that point, and that there are resources.

Angsty Fantasy

Tomorrow is what I’d define as all bark and no bite. This isn’t to say it was bad. I liked a lot of the messages and I thought it was very positive to see a Korean drama addressing a lot of different issues like suicide, depression and anorexia. ( Especially for those who have known these issues directly or indirectly.)

I also have a lot of positive things to say about the cast. Rowoon has always been of a mixed bag actor for me but he really surpassed all my expectations as the ML. I didn’t really know the main actress Kim Hee Sun from other projects but her acting was also fairly decent here as the main female alongside the other unfamiliar face Yun Ji On who delivered a good performance.

Maybe my big problem came from the narrative building. There were a lot of issues tackled but the plot was messy. One moment we had a big issue seemingly built for the main lead but they rarely took it further after the first episode and entirely forgot about it until the ending. The character arcs were also messy. I like how we got insights into their backstories like with the female lead but it rarely felt connected or helping to bring about a big sense of impending doom or obstacles for the main leads.

The filming was pretty and all but it didn’t always make sense with helping to bring to life the world of the characters. I understand that while the webcomic is a lot more straightforward in its art style and approach, the screenplay could’ve probably taken a leaf from that and focused on better building of the setting and characters early on.

Overall I think Tomorrow is a good fantasy with a good cast and a lot of drama fans will probably be fascinated with LSH’s appearance ( only supporting). My big problem came from the writing and I think a lot of watchers have shared their own issues here with it. I’d say give it a go but be prepared for some messy writing moments here and there.

Best k-drama i've seen in awhile

I'm not joking when I say that this Kdrama is the best of the best. This is like my first time writing a review on dramalist and I thought this was the perfect drama to start. The story is perfectly balanced between the characters personal lives and their jobs. Everything actual makes sense in this k-drama, which is surprisingly hard to achieve nowadays. Also, the k-drama adresses important topics in society and shows the personal stories of many. I truly love this k-drama and I will say, it has and always will help me remmber the true values in life <3
