A FL immature & disrespectful in her love life, redeemed by her good looks & work skills
If you like dramas where the Main FL character is aware of her beauty and flirts with the ML for half of the drama, initially for revenge purposes (she has been dumped by her previous boyfriend for what she believes to be his niece), gets caught in her acting and actually falls for him, while he is aware she’s acting, but likes her nonetheless because she’s a beauty and skilled at her job…then for 1/4 of the episodes, they will be apart because he discovers her lie, that it was for revenge, and understands she was not attracted to him per se, before she could confess her initial lie and true feelings…
When they are finally back together, close to the end of the drama, she resumes her princess pouty behaviour, to which he gives in… this drama is for you.
But even then, She keeps teasing him, and shyly (pretend) runs away when he seems to want more with her… then, she totally reverse her attitude when she ends up living at his place because of a hand injury (ep33/36), … She is no longer acting shy and she is surprised that despite her clear invitations, he doesn’t seem to be interested in sleeping with her… until at the end of ep. 34, she gets what she wants, because he sees her crystal clear exchanges with her best friend on the very topic of whether he may have a problem, explaining why they haven’t yet splept together …
I wish the story had been explained to me this way, I wouldn’t have wasted my time on this drama.
There are good moments, funny moments…
But all in all, it displays a very immature and disrespectful female character, who is forgiven her bad behaviour because of her good looks and professional skills…
Only the last ep. Slightly makes up for the above…
Not satisfying watch for me, even if I had low expectations…
the first 1/3 was enjoyable, afterwards, it became irksome, as there was absolutely no character development arc… I’m not into mischievous female characters, displaying a far from recommandable set of personal values in their private life. Not a good example to follow.
Even the 2nd lead couple broke up and was apart for the majority of the drama… because of fear of a serious relationship and commitment …

Cute but very predictable
I enjoyed watching it. I bringe watched in within a little under a week. I liked and shipped all couples and everyone was absolutely beautiful. Such an attractive cast.The storyline however was super predictable and our typical “nobody talks to one another” drama that would have been solved with one easy conversation.
Still I was pretty happy overall, so if you just need something nonsensical non (too) frustrating with a pretty satisfying end, this one’s for you. Don’t expect a cinematic masterpiece though.

Love the actors, but…ugh
Others have covered this so I’ll just add: I adore both actors. Who in the world would waste the chemistry, charm and comedic chops these two have with such a poorly done drama. I love a stupid romance - I can’t tell you how many are in my favorites list. I don’t hate the cold CEO stereotype. I love the “girl reporter” characters in ridiculous old American movies. With those elements and these two actors, this could have been a really fun watch. For me, it was not. So watch if you love one or both actors, ignore the story and just zoom about staring at their gorgeousness!Was this review helpful to you?
Wang Hedi look great. Bai Lu was so pretty
It was becoz of these two I binge watch for 3 days and almost got headache. Eventhough there are a few illogical moment between ML and FL, this series really make me swoon and felt giddy² inside. And also let just not start discussing about all then hot scenes... #OmyheartWink*Truely amaze how the other couples made me rooting for them and want them to have a happy closure too. And just For that, this series deserve overall 8 star from me.
The house was a full studio set. How can that be? It so artistic and realistic. I bet the office is a studio set too. No wonder the lighting was spot on in every angle.
Am I going to watch the full series again? No
Am I going to just watch click bait /tt video scene of Shu Yi and Shi Yan? Oh definitly . You bet on in..

Great chemistry between couples
Many people criticize Only For Love because of the constant miscommunication between Zheng Shuyi (Bailu) and Shi Yan (Dylan Wang). In my honest opinion, however, that doesn't really matter, because the storyline itself is great!While there are many times when I felt second-hand embarrassment (especially with FL), I really enjoyed this drama. The chemistry between ML and FL was amazing. Sure, the FL might be a bit proactive, but it builds up the story. The ML may be bossy, but we all have to admit that he played his role well.
The second couple (Qin Shiyue and Yu You) was also very sweet. Like the FL, Qin Shiyue may be a bit too proactive, and Yu You was fairly hesitant to be with her at first, but when the two do get together, the result is beautiful love. In order to see that, though, you'll have to dive deeper into the drama, and go through all the times that Yu You felt uncomfortable with Shiyue, but I'd say its fairly worth it.
Overall, IMO, this drama is great, flaws and all. Some people will hate it, others will love it, it's up to you to decide.

I went in highly skeptical and left with a warm feeling in my heart.
This is a honest unbiased review.I read reviews from this site before watching and frankly the reviews where not encouraging, i also asked a friend who had watched it and she said it was"okay".
I decided to download all the episodes of this drama on my yt and i started watching it.
These are the things i loved about this drama:
1. Zheng shu yi is a confident career woman who is good at her job and that part really stands out to me in the beginning.
2. The way she handled her breakups with her stupid ex and later on with shi yan had a clear distinction partly because of the nature of her feelings towards each of them.
3. Her friendship with shanshan was potrayed in a mature way.
4. The relationship between the zheng shu yi's boss and old guan.
The things i hated:
1. Shan shan's harmful advice that led to the breakup between shi yan and zheng shuyi, though i can understand why she thinks that way.
2. The fact that zheng shuyi failed to realise shi yan's intentions earlier on and ended up shaking the foundation of her relationship.
In general the story was good at times , passable at times. If you are looking for a high-intensity or melodramatic drama this is not for you.
In all i recommend that you watch it regardless ,it might not be the most engaging but it has its funny moments and its romantic moments too.
Special mention:
The dating era of shi yan and zheng shuyi after the breakup was beautifully done and the special episode with their wedding was really good.
In conclusion watch it and see for yourself , if you jcan't finish it because the pacing and plot is not for you that's fine too.

a delicious watch of two ppl try to court and counter-court each other in their own way
I actually didn’t watch this because of the bad reviews, so I waited until now to start watching. going in dislike WHD’s acting (miss the dragon really damage him in my eyes, but I like him enough as a celebrity), and one short video really gives me butterflies and I kept rewatching it, so I finally decided to start from the beginning! and oh boy, I finished the whole series within 2-3 days, so much lack of sleep but I was loving it. I love it so much I rewatched the whole thing, from beginning to end, didn’t even skip a part, even for the 2nd and 3rd couple! back to back 100% rewatch is not a done thing for me ever. and I rewatch it for the third time in parts (also I noticed how unhealthy this is, so I’m like I better stop 😅).What I love about it? I love how the FL tries to court the ML, it might be embarrassing (for other ppl), but it’s just cutie overload for me. it’s the feeling of first love, chasing what you like, and while it’s embarrassing, it makes you happy so who cares?!! it’s the cat and mouse game, where ML tries to catch FL’s mistakes, revealing her secrets, but couldn’t help falling for her, along the way, help her courting him, in the end, hopelessly in love with each other. what not enchanting, not cute about it?! Dylan Wang acted so well as ShiYan, I have no complaints. this series actually changed my opinions of him and I started checking out his other dramas lol. BL as ShuYi is cute, delicate, but at time, outrageously thick skin when it comes to court her man 🤣
it might be one of those dramas that might hit you when it’s the right time for you. you have to be in the mood for it/love/something different, otherwise, it might not work for you. but when it does, it’s an explosion! 🥰I’m glad I watch it properly, because it’s now one of those romcom that I can always go back and watch. it stays away from the usual cdrama plot: past lovers got separated and return to each other. it’s a drama that convey its message loud and clear: if you like something, go for it, and treasure your relationship from the beginning, don’t hastily and easily said goodbye/breakup, what important is how you feel about each other, not about how it starts nor how it should end.
it’s a drama I would always recommend. ALWAYS!

A Corporate Rom-Com That’s All Fluff, Zero Substance
💼 WHY IT’S WATCHABLE:Bai Lu & Dylan Wang’s visuals – They look like a CEO and financial reporter should (even if the plot doesn’t always back it up).
The office tension – Early episodes nail the "enemies-to-lovers" bickering (before it fizzles).
That one elevator scene – You’ll know it when you see it (steamy by Cdrama standards).
🙄 THE "OKAY, BUT WHY?" MOMENTS:
The financial jargon – Thrown around like confetti with zero real-world logic.
The second couple – More chemistry than the leads, but wasted on a filler subplot.
The ending – Rushed like a last-minute PowerPoint presentation.
💸 THE "CORPORATE FANTASY" FACTOR:
CEO in a perfectly tailored suit – Because obviously he has time to model between mergers.
Reporter with zero deadlines – Her only job seems to be annoying Dylan Wang.
🎯 VERDICT:
"Like a LinkedIn profile come to life—pretty to look at, but don’t think too hard." Watch if: You love low-stakes fluff or Dylan Wang’s jawline. Skip if: You need plot coherence or feminist workplace rep.

It could easily be renamed to "How to Chase a Man Until He Gives In"
Overall, I found it enjoyable to watch, and the performances of all the actors were great, but... watching Zheng Shu Yi (a supposedly professional, capable, mature woman) chase after Shi Yan for more than 10 episodes was a bit cringe. Mostly because she would either tell a lie or stage a trick to get his attention, then when she finally got his attention, she'd become silent, act cold, or run away. Then immediately after, she'd begin chasing him all over again and repeating the cycle of bait, chase, and run away. The scriptwriting for their romance dynamic felt a bit pretentious ngl.Amazingly enough, Qin Shi Yue also shamelessly chases after Yu You, and much to my surprise, it was more entertaining to watch (and was actually my favourite part of the show, tbh). Probably because Qin Shi Yue is established from the start as a young, naive, airheaded 22-year-old who is a bit spoiled but innocent at heart. Seeing her chase down Yu You was delightful because we get to see him pushed out of his comfort zone by force and entranced by her tenacious spirit. He rejected her in so many ways, but she was like, nope, rejection denied. 😂 Ultimately, I was entertained the entire show (even the cringe moments were enertaining) so I have to admit that it's actually a very good watch if you just want a delightful romcom to binge on a Friday night with snacks. 8/10

Dylan Wang is just soooooo swoony!
If for no other reason, everyone should watch this so that they can swoon over Dylan Wang every second he is on screen. OMG I just love love love love him so much. But there are other good reasons too.I actually really enjoyed this show, I don't get why it gets so much hate. Yes, there is a lot of business talk (you can just skip) and some plotlines or characters personality traits and decisions are questionable, but that's part of the show's charm. I loved the three couples, I loved the friendship and family relationships, it was refreshing to see a rich family be so close-knit and so welcoming of the love interests of their young members, instead of the usual shananigans.
Above all, i really really really loved how much Shi Yan was devoted to his woman, he is exactly everything I love about a ML.
I also like FL a lot, she was intelligent, hard-working, had good core values. She could be a little spoiled, she definetly could have been more honest, but it all adds to that characters' arch.
The only character i didn't really care much for was the magazine boss who was very indecisive towards her boyfriend, but even that i can sort of get.
The OST was nice, the kiss scenes were crazy hot, I could rewatch those a thousand times. Andddd... bonus... horses! If there are scenes with horses, it's perfect because it's my favourite animal.
