Wishing for a Season 2
It’s one of those series where I wish it had more than 30 episodes! Normally with series that can just feel like things are dragging on, but I have to say I loved the concept of the story!I must say the cast is also really good! The chemistry with all the cast members were top notch! Definitely a series I wouldn’t mind watching again.
let me just say I kinda wish I was someone that was part of the Beast Clan!
The side ships were also very sweet and cute made you want to be awww I want that cute innocent romance

A peculiar approach done well
We don't usually see this kind of western + ancient chinese culture mixed dramas. I think it really gave this drama a new light. The love between them was sweet. Had intersting side stories which actually made the drama much worthy.Really liked the pacing of the last episodes. The main problem was solved in the 29th episode and 30th episode was solely dedicated to conclude each and every characters story (This one is much appreciated 💗).
Should applaud the makeup artists and stylists. Kui Mulang's appearance was indeed awesome. Specially the hands, very much realistic. Also that little cat maid's ears are so pretty. Outfits of everyone was unique as well.
In conclusion I find this drama as an escape from repeating tropes and stories. This deserves it!

Hated every minute of it but couldn't stop watching.
Didn't have high hopes upon seeing the make-up and costumes to begin with but what got me the most was the way in which the story kept getting dragged out. About 2/3 of the drama has gone by and miss Qi Pa has yet to discover the truth about Kui Mulang. The character development was close to nothing and god knows what is up with this evil scorpion man? Like the lack of backstory made him finding his daugther (which we didn't even know he had or missed) suddenly feel so random and out of nowhere? Just like all the dance scenes btw which made me cringe to death.FL could've been more expressive with her facial expressions as well imo, all I could remember was her looking like this: 👁️👄👁️ half of the time. Another thing to point out is the scenery. Rather than showing the actual world all we got was this repeated cut scene of the realm from afar getting inserted and mostly the palace making immersion kinda difficult.
All in all not one for the rewatch list, though I can't stop watching this trainwreck. Like it's bad but I can't look away.

funny love story
I thoroughly enjoyed the drama but i will recommend this drama to those who likes fairy tales. yes a little mixture of Beauty and the Beast . one undigested thing in the drama was that The Beast Clan ate vegetables. I liked the love story . though story didn't have interesting thing to show but i don't know why i liked it. Maybe because of the leads because they are my favourites.one thing when she came back to her home why the story didn't show her uncle and aunt as she was disappeared forlong time so they must be worried a out her so when she came back so they should be very happy but they were not there at that time, so why.

CHEN ZHEYUAN WILL SWOON YOUR HEART AWAY!!
I am not a big fan of historical/costume dramas but now I feel, if there is CZY's presence then I can watch it with the same enthusiasm as I watch the Modern dramas! No but I won't give my review being partial towards this fact.Earlier I have watched only one historical drama that was Handsome Siblings, it was long and had so many heavy and difficult scenes to watch, but my sole reason to watch the drama was CZY, and he made it all worth it! The drama turned out to be the most favourite drama of mine, just not because of CZY but also for its storyline.
The Princess and the werewolf is like a breath of fresh air.. It truly stands out, considering all it's factors - Love, Friendship, companionship, Brotherhood, Music, Costumes, Comic timing, Character developments, story development. All the ingredients to make a drama entertaining and successful is there in it.
let me jot down some very much plus points (as there are many)
1. ofcourse, CZY as Kui Mulang, Oh my god this Lad has done soo good in this drama, the way his versatility is utilised is par excellence! one moment he is scary but caring king Kui Mulang, the other moment he is as soft and cute as rabbit being Li Xiong. Not to forget his disguise as a girl in Ep. 5. I can rewatch every second of his screej presence again and again and again!
2. Wu Xuan Yi as princess Qi Pa did great great job, I actually didn't expected her to be so good after watching her in Sweet Teeth, but hear, this lady has literally proved herself to be the best in her role
3. The other casts - Hong Xiu, Lui Jun, Hu Die, Ma Yinxiong (The bestest of best this guy is) , Chun Er and Bie Ke did extremely well and we can't help but fall in love with their characters and their respective chemistries with the Main leads.
4. OST - Superb osts sounds like this, what realistic and relatable lyrics have they put can just blow my mind away! Simply, amazing!
5. The touch of modern world in the historical drama surely makes you connect and content with the drama.
6. Costumes - Though majority of cast is seen in the same outfit throughout the drama but the designs were just on point. The way kui mulang's black robe gives goosebumps is pure bliss, not to forget Qi pa's gowns which I literally want to steal!
7. A special appreciation to CZY, his team and his make up artists for giving us the best look of kui mulang and keeping up with the 4 hours of time to put on his make up!
Some little minus points of the drama which can be easily ignored
1. The dragginess with Qi Pa's tricks surely can itch you in middle part of the drama.
2. The casting of Su He, the girl portraying Su He seem not at all scary but in fact dull and dum.
3. More than required screen space of Jing Muhan, Earthworm and Haitang.
All those who have not yet tried watching historical dramas and want to give a try, then this drama is for them! And I know many of the CZY fans who are new to our madness(😅) are stalking for more of his dramas after watching Hidden love, then they should really give this drama a try and CZY won't disappoint you!

Very enjoyable fantasy drama!
Trully such a nice surprise! I started watching it as I usualy like stories with definitly opposites main charaters. So the title seemed accurate :). And I really found some of " Beauty and the Beast" vibes - with an interesting background story that unfolds . Characters are smoothly sliding from comedy to deeper tones very easily, and leads are all doing great job in portraying their characters. Some time versatiles, some time hilarious.Even if it's not a high budget drama, actors direction, and the visual directing is very much willing to give us some sensitive and poetry (dark or light) lecture of the story.
I enjoyed it fully. Laughed a lot , and was quite thrilled too.
This drama is as good as reading an interesting tale... I recommend! :)
Will surely rewatch it as such.
Happy watching to you too, cheer!

Story progress
Good drama. My only complaint is that they should have given more bonding time between and MC and FC without any lies or misunderstanding bw them. FC should have realised her feelings for LX much earlier and should have found LX and KML are the same person by episode 20 atleast so that would leave her more time to get to know MC as KML.Now I wish there were more episodes just because I want to see more of them falling in love with their true identities.Good storyline otherwise.Great acting. Fresh perspective on beauty and the beast concept and great chemistry.

In spite of.....
In spite of it's flaws, I really enjoy the drama. The story is easy to follow and it's catchy. The flaws are mostly technical, make up for the wolf king could be better and the special effects are not that special. I think most of the actors are not well known but they do ok. I recommend if you have nothing better to watch.

They exchange a lot of fluids
I DID NOT expect to like or even finish this cdrama. From the beginning the writing looked childish, cringe and over the top with plot holes, needless teen angst and not so convincing characters. But this is my first xia-xia (I think?) and maybe I was drawn to the tropes of the genre? I need to watch more to decide I guess.
So here are the reasons I ended up binge watching this: there is a fairly developed world building, many side characters that are interesting and have actual arcs and relationships between them, the angst between the protagonists is real (I felt so bad for poor ugly Kui Mulang who was constantly rejected by his love interest) and I think they approached the story as a spoof. The whole affair was so fluffy and unserious that made the series a breeze to watch.

This show was cuter than it had any right to be.
Going into The Princess and the Werewolf I didn’t have high expectations but I needed something light to watch. This show fit the bill perfectly, and by time it was finished it became one of my favorites. I absolutely loved it.Is it utterly ridiculous? Yes, at (many) times it is. Are the costumes good? No, but they’re not bad except for the werewolf prosthetics; they were terrible. Did I expect this to be a top quality production? No, and yet it still gave me everything I needed. I got some good chuckles from the lightheartedness of the story and one scene had me literally laughing out loud because it was so unexpected, yet so well done.
The supporting cast were all great and I really started to care about their side stories, as well.
If I have one complaint about it (besides the terrible prosthetics), is that it took far too long to do the reveal. It could have been probably several episodes shorter and been more enjoyable. Once the reveal had been made, watching the queen/princess’s forgiveness arc left me feeling a little empty and maybe confused. I wanted more from it because it felt like something was left out or forgotten. I don’t know what exactly, but after taking forever for her to learn the truth and then this weird way of working through her forgiveness, something was missing. Or maybe I was just so fatigued by then from watching episode after episode of her not knowing the truth that by time the story changed, I was more hopeful.
I think the story would have also done a bit better with the villain (villains?) story a bit more simplified and introduced earlier on. By time we learn the truth of the real villain, it seems like it was just an afterthought.
All of that being said, I really did love the show overall, and considerably more than I expected to. The ML was excellent and now I am actively seeking out other shows he has been in.
The Princess and the Werewolf is definitely worth your time if you’re looking for something mindless but that still has a really sweet love story.

The costuming for the female lead was a little strange, she didn't have any pants on for some reason. And I don't think that the director really cared about the side characters because they all only have like one outfit that they constantly wear throughout the entire show.
Another issue that I had in this show was Qi Pa's character. To start off, she has a really strange and weird name. Not only that but I didn't really like her character. She expects Kui Mulang to do all the work in chasing her and pursuing her and making her feel happy. Even when she was at fault, she still expected him to come see her. Personally if their love is mutual then she needs to put in some work and effort.
