Totally entertaining and gore watch
Part 1 was totally the best, it's exciting and the VFX is so good. Making me miss Stranger Things! The gore is great too, making the drama tense and love the warmth of the kids. While I have not read the webtoon, watching the rookie actress/actor in this drama is refreshing as I've watched most of them in other dramas such as At a Distance, Spring is Green and Under the Queen's Umbrella. Btw, again sadly the story shows how tense the school system is and they have to compare it for CSAT points. :x
Watched Part 2 too, Part 1 is definitely better.

We Were Just Kids, and They Gave Us Guns
I thought I knew what I was walking into. A sci-fi thriller. Teen soldiers. High-stakes alien warfare. I figured it’d be tense, maybe clever. What I didn’t expect was to come out the other side hollowed out — mourning people who didn’t exist, carrying grief for something that felt far too close to real.Duty After School: Part 1 isn’t about aliens. Not really. It’s about being young and having that youth stolen by people in power who mistake bodies for strategy. It’s about kids forced to make sense of death before they even figured out who they were. There’s a quiet kind of devastation in watching someone still learning how to live suddenly being expected to kill.
Every student mattered. That’s what wrecked me. There were no cannon-fodder side characters, no one written just to be expendable. They were scared, selfish, compassionate, petty, brave — so human. And because the story gave them space to be all of that, every loss hit harder. Every goodbye felt like something real being torn away.
The anger I felt — not at the monsters, but at the adults, the system, the normalization of sacrifice — that stayed. There was no big villain monologue, no neat justification. Just failure. Repeated, systemic, cowardly failure. And the show didn’t try to smooth that over. It let the betrayal speak for itself.
What crushed me most were the moments of kindness — those quick glances, inside jokes, the way they looked out for each other even when everything around them was falling apart. That camaraderie felt sacred. Because they knew what they were losing. Maybe that’s why it hurt so much. Not just who died, but what was taken from the ones who lived.
I didn’t cry right away. I just sat there, still. Like the air had been knocked out of me. And then it came in waves. For the promises cut short. For the joy that never had a chance to grow. For how quietly the show let everything unravel.
It didn’t ask for tears. It earned them.
This isn’t something I’ll forget. Not because of the concept. Because of the kids. Because they were never just soldiers in training. They were people. And the world treated them like numbers.
I felt every step of it. And I’m still not done feeling.

An honest review ( dont compare this drama with all of are dead)
Okay first of all.. It'll be a honest review.. I watched this drama after completing All Of Us Are Dead as i thought its similar to it.. But it's different totally... I think we shouldn't compare both of them as both are so unique in their own way... Okay in this drama the first ep was boring and it was necessary to lay the plot, for better understanding of characters & story.. So hold on to it during first ep it'll be better in second ep... In part 1 especially during starting eps there were many things that didn't make sense & logic like upto 4 eps... But if you watch from students pov you'll see they were just immature students who doesn't wanna accept the situation & just wanna go home... Thats okay so yeah in the start eps almost part 1 of the drama they were scared & doesn't wanna understand situation or they were just taking actions rashly without thinking but eventually they get better in part 2...okay so if i say the overall drama was so goodddddd... You must watch it.. And while watching don't think it'll be like All of us are dead... They both are different.. The story line the characters everything so dont compare... Just give it a try... I binged watch the drama.. As i said at first the actions of student doesn't make sense but just think they're just immature students & watch it.. And yeah ofc at last you'll be traumatized TT TT I hope you found this review helpfulWas this review helpful to you?

All of Us are Dead DUPPPEEE
soo I started this because it looked interesting and it reminded me of All of Us are Dead and I was rightplot is basically the government using high schoolers to train them to fight against an alien species (no explanation on where they came from btw) and the show proceeds to showing the process of training and then real battle as the students realize it isn't a joke anymore (gov used points for some college test as an incentive to get students to join the program).
the hook for this show was just the dynamic between the students and their leaders and that was probably it. the character growth for the students was actually so touching, seeing them fight together at the beginning to becoming one of the most promising groups because of their teamwork. their interactions with their commanders was so wholesome even though they were the definition of tough love
the show wasn't as gripping as All of Us Are Dead and it focused a lot more on the high school-like aspect/characteristic of the show than I expected but still very suspenseful and unexpected in the plot twists. there wasn't much romance, lots of friendship, some fighting and screaming.
i would recommend this just for the sake that if you're getting post All of Us Are Dead "depression"

Was this review helpful to you?

Resenha

Was this review helpful to you?
