worth a watch
Weak Hero Class 1 is not just a simple school bullying drama, it is much more than that. It started slowly but after a few episodes it's getting better, so many violence sequences are there.
The development of the story is also really interesting to see. As i said at the start, it's not a usual bullying drama which only focuses on a particular person. Basically we can call it a revenge type story line. The character development was another brilliant thing about the drama.
Feel free to watch it only has 8 epi with duration of 40 min also the story is moving very fast without much dragging. The emotional part of the story also worked really well and ended with a very decent climax.
Overall worth your time. Try it

Brutally Bloody and a Whole Lot of Broken Bones (and spirits)
I am not crying but I think I want to... As I finish yet another drama about bullying in s. Krean schools I still feel that this was actually worth my time (as you may notice with the high rating).I do not know if this brings a lot new to the table, as we get to see a bunch of grownups take advantage of kids use them as punchingbags and then blame them for paying it forward by punching others... There is a lot of splashing blood, sounds of bones cracking and legs flying in the air. Plus why take responsabilaty for stuff when you can blame others, done slighlty differently and really good.
Our leads are not always what they seem to be, but the friendships and fakefreindsabuserships are solid. The cinematography is brutally beautiful and the felling of f*** lingers in the air throughout the drama.
I love, love, love the bromance and appreciate the male trio in this as well as pretty much have a huge crush on Young Yis (LEon Yeon) character. Park Ji Hoon and Choi Hyun Wook did a phenomenal job portraying their characters.
A painful yet easy binge, but if you are the slightest sensetive to blood chances are you will have to look away now and then.

acting and action scenes on point!
{It only took one clip to convince me to watch this and I was not at all disappointed! Give one of the best series of 2022 a watch!}Underdog stories are nice to watch every now and then. this one was no doubt one of the best I’ve seen in kdramaland. The bullying and cruelty was handled well. It was extremely hard to watch at times but I’m glad it wasn’t shied away from. The realism is what enhanced the watch. The theme of friendship and how it can strengthen the people involved manifest throughout the story.
Park Jihoon being cast as Si Eun was as genius as it was clever. This was my first drama with him but I truly wanna commend him for his portrayal of his character. He looks weak on the outside but when crossed he becomes a totally different person. He seemed numb but never indifferent. Choi Hyun Wook really shined here. His chemistry with PJH and Hong Kyung was great. I hope he gets bigger roles in the future. Hong Kyung’s character had a real twist I didn't see coming. The contrast in his demeaner and actions when he wears his glasses and when he doesn’t was interesting. His fall was unfortunate but made for good storytelling. The bullies did their thing. If anything this showcase the common idiom “hurt people hurt people.” Some people are so weak that they prey upon others to feel some sense of power or stature in society.
On a side note I have to acknowledge the fights! The action scenes were really cool and filmed so well. Def exhilarating to watch and even had me on the edge of my seat at times. I actually might rewatch this because of the fights alone.
Overall this was a good watch. The ending for season 1 was open-ended enough for a second installment. I really hope thats the case cause this was fantastic.

It's the best drama I have ever seen!
Really proud of Jihoon as he's not only good at singing, dancing, rapping but his acting is getting better and better. Sieun is a character with a complicated mentality but he did it perfectly, just looking into his eyes I can feel the loss and pain that Sieun's character has gone through.he prepared a lot for the movie even losing 5 kg, switching from introvert to extrovert and being severely affected psychologically after the end of the movie. It's lucky he told his fans that he wasn't okay instead of hiding it and suffering alone, he's such a close person with a warm heart and really loves his fans, he deserves more fame and more recognition. This is a drama worth watching and I hope it will be more and more successful in the future and Jihoon's career too!Was this review helpful to you?
Such an Impactful Series and Seriously One of the Best!!
This originally caught my attention because I saw that Park Jihoon was cast and as I enjoyed his performance in 'At a Distance, Spring is Green' I was excited to see him playing an entirely different role. I appreciated the production and was amazed by how much could happen in a single classroom in just the first episode. A few episodes in, I thought all actors played their roles amazingly, and I felt more connected to the characters emotionally. The actions and changing feelings of some characters made me realize what powerful messages this series held. Toward the end, I was very impacted by the relationships between the characters, and I absolutely sobbed for most of the last episode. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this series and praise all of the staff, editors, and actors for bringing this together. I highly recommend Weak Hero Class 1 to anyone. Was this review helpful to you?
Ive read the webtoon so i may compare the two
ive just finished it,and its probably one of the nicest kdramas from this year in my opinion. This will be as short review since im writing this in the middle of the night. To start the story is very enjoyable and at the same time kinda predicable. But not predicable in the boring way just in the way where you kind of understand what the director is trying to do with the story line. It is set in a high school with the usual bullying and hierarchies. It then build from there to more than just a high school drama, which i find to be very interesting. But at the same time the kdrama doesn't get to messy with its plat and still centers around the same characters and still keeps the high school setting relevant, as it should be to create realism.
now the characters were one of my favorite things about this drama. I really loved park jihoon as shieun, because he really in bodies the character. As shieun also known as grey in the webtoon is very emotionless and study obsessed, and jihoon really sells this. I alos just love the friendship between soohon and shieun, it was so sweet and nice, and they really tried to protect each other. As for oh beom, yeah i really hated him, and therefor ill give credit to the writers because they really made him despicable. But as for this sort of internal struggle with him not belonging anywhere, and therefor feeling lonely. I really liked it and it gave depth since he was a part of the mains friendship so his change was unexpected. I do feel like they could have done it better if they had provide us more of his feelings instead of his actions, what i mean is through out the series i could understand his struggles but mostly just because of his actions. I feel like giving watchers more moments where he just thinks or has a struggle of his own which does not involve harming the characters could have provided even more depth and soul to him, and so it would make the ending hit harder. Lastly as for Young yi, while she didn't have much impact on the story as a whole, i really liked her character. She was naturally social and seemed to bring a lot of joy to shieun and soohon, and therefor i really liked and enjoyed her scenes in the drama. Btw the acting in this was all good, so no need to worry for that if you're wondering.
As for the music, i cant say much there, dont really remember anything special. But mostly just used to build suspense before fights.
NOW FINALLY FOR WHAT IVE WANTED TO WRITE, DISCLAIMER; THIS WILL BE SOMETHING I NOTICED ABOUT THE SERIES AND THE WEBTOON, SO THEREFORE IF YOU'RE AFRAID OF SPOILERS JUST DONT READ THIS PART, BUT IF YOU'VE SEEN THE DRAMA, READ THIS PART YO MAY FIND MY OBSERVATIONS INTERESTING.
so while watching i was just unconsciously comparing the drama and the webtoon. In the beginning i was just complaining on how the webton and drama dont reallly fit at all, the ony thing thats slightly the same is shieuns way of fighting. Like for example soohon wasnt a character in the webtoon, and plus shieun seemed "weaker " than from the webton, as well as a little more open to having friends. Plus the stories in of it self just dont fit each other. But that when, when i realized at the end what the drama was doing. The kdrama is set before the events of the webtoon, its set in shieuns/greys past, which i kinda remember form the webtoon. I realized that the kdrama was a more in depth versions of his past, which just hit me like WOW cuz i was kinda disappointed at the beginning as a avid reader. So this means that the new school is the same school as the webtoon, which makes sense if youve read the webtoon. And therefore if there is going to be a season 2 its going to follow the webtoon. Anyways cool right, so if you wanna read the webtoon after watching you can just read from the beginning. Anyways hopefully a season 2 is in works. Thanks or reading. also soohon MUST wake up, he cannot die fr like that season 2 needs him.

Why WHC1 might be one of the best dramas I've ever watched, if not the best
This is one of the best dramas I've ever watched, if not the best, for several reasons (spoiler alert):- Park Jihoon's acting is incredibly impressive, though he gets the least lines out of the 3 mains characters. At first, he may even appear as cold and emotionless, but truth is that all of his emotions are in fact conveyed through his eyes. Pain, revenge, sadness, every single feeling that rushes through his body is shown to us on camera by the look in his eyes. On his way to avenge his friend, when Sieun gets out of the hospital after seeing Sooho's unresponsive body, Park Jihoon's facial expressions manage to make the switch from sadness to anger very obvious in a matter of seconds.
- The storyline is very realistic and it's as painful as it is enjoyable. We think Sieun is finally safe when he transfers schools, only for him to end up being harassed by bullies at his new school. Whether an open end or a hint at a future season, it does a great job at highlighting that bullying is often something that is suffered on the long-term by victims. When we finally start feeling some relief, thinking the whole situation has finally been solved, we are quickly drawn back to the harsh reality: Sieun only escaped the bullies from his previous school, not the bullies from every other place. WHC1 also shows how incredibly difficult it is for anyone to tackle this issue durably, as the parents, teachers, the police and all the other adults are portrayed as helpless AND unhelpful throughout the whole show.
- The contrast between Sooho and the bullies is very subtle, yet incredibly obvious. Sooho knows how to fight, yet he only does so when necessary, and more than often, puts his fists to a good cause. On the other hand, the bullies use any situation as an excuse to stir up violence. They are weak, and lack morals, which is reemphasized during the 1-1 fight of Episode 8. They use violence not out of love for violence itself, but out of ignorance: they know nothing better. They seem shocked to witness Sooho's lifeless body on the ground, when it is a logical consequence of the beating they inflicted upon him.
- Bumseok is the typical antagonist. Him being adopted and having a chaotic relationship -if any- with his father reinforces his need to feel like he belongs somewhere. He finds that for a while thanks to his short-term friendship with Sooho and Sieun, but his lack of self esteem is quickly triggered by Young Yi. When he starts feeling like he matters, even though he is probably aware that he is being used by the bullies for his money, he can no longer stop before it's too late because he is blinded by this feeling he has never once felt in his life. It is easier for him to convince himself that Sooho deserved this than it is for him to realize that he ruined the one good thing he had in his life. He gets tired of being a victim, and so at the first chance he gets, he becomes a perpetrator, prisoner of a vicious cycle he was once the scapegoat of. His character does an amazing job at showing how a history of trauma can shape you for the worst, when you know no better. Though we have every possible reason to hate him, we can't help but feel pity towards the end of the show, and that's where it also does a great job at showing that sadly, not all victims of bullying will manage to escape the pattern of violence brought upon them. Sieun was also being bullied, yet he chose a drastically different path from Bumseok. This clearly explains one of the last quotes of Episode 8, where BumSeok asks Sieun to understand him, to which Sieun replies that he does, but that BumSeok must make the effort to understand the position he's in too. It is therefore obvious why he refuses to hit him, even though we may agree that Bumseok deserved it: Sieun knows that all of this was only triggered by Bumseok's sad storyline.
- The show also underlines the power of friendship in a very interesting way: When Sieun, who was always a lone wolf focused on studying, befriends Sooho, constantly-sleepy-and-starving-while-uninterested-in-anything-school-related character, he is willing to put his own life at risk for a friend who once did the same thing to save him from bullies. However, Bumseok, who has poor relationship skills and therefore ends up sabotaging his friendships for egotistic reasons, puts himself first. Bumseok also pays attention to silly things (eg. Sooho not following him back on Instagram), which is understandable considering that he lives in a family where appearances and money are the only things that matter. This setting therefore makes him unable to realize that Sooho and Sieun did more for him than anyone ever did. Most characters from this show are likable, with attention mostly drawn to Sooho, who is portrayed as the main hero. However, it is not a black-and-white type of show, since it shows both the weaknesses and the strengths of each character: Seokdae, for instance, who is involved in very questionable matters, ends up being a key character that looks out for others.
- Bonus point, because the entire soundtrack is absolutely wonderful.
Overall, this was an incredibly painful show to sit through, because it does an amazing job at showing the length bullies will go through in order to crack a few smiles, but this is exactly what made it this great. Some of the shots are very long, and build up on this feeling that the scenes of violence are never-ending. Despite having very few episodes (8), all actors pulled an astonishing performance that allowed us to get a glimpse of the hell bullied people may go through. I am definitely going to start reading that webtoon...

Weak Hero Class 1: A Masterpiece of Raw Intensity and Emotion
Where do I even begin? From the very first scene, Weak Hero Class 1 had me completely hooked. The first four episodes? PURE FIRE. 🔥 Park Ji-hoon as Si-eun? Absolutely KILLING it. This guy is the walking definition of "quiet but deadly." He doesn’t need words to make a statement—every calm stare, every calculated move, screams power. 🫡— The Fight Scenes? INSANE.
The fight scenes are the definition of cinematic excellence—raw, visceral, and intense. Each punch and blow carries weight, immersing you in the brutal realities the characters face. The tension is palpable, especially during those moments when Si-eun uses a pen as a weapon. It’s not just a tool; it’s a symbol of his transformation and resilience. Watching him wield it with precision and determination was nothing short of mesmerizing.
— Characters that Steal Your Heart/ A+ Characters All Around
**Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon): Let me just say this: Chef’s Kiss. 👏👏👏 Park Ji-hoon brought Si-eun to life in a way I didn’t expect. You could see the weight of every decision and the internal storm brewing in his eyes. He’s quiet, but his presence is LOUD.
**Soo-ho (Choi Hyun-wook): Soo-ho is THAT friend. Dependable, loyal, and an absolute softie when it comes to his people. The bond between Soo-ho and Si-eun? Ugh, my heart. They’ve got each other’s backs no matter what, and it’s just so beautiful to see. 🥹✨
**Beom-seok (Hong Kyung): Oh boy, Beom-seok... where do I even start? I had such mixed feelings about him. At first, I got it—I felt for him. But as things escalated? 👀 I found myself torn between pitying him and wanting to shake some sense into him. I wish we got a bit more depth to his character because his arc had so much potential.
— The Emotional Destruction of the Second Half
Okay, so the second half of this drama? It had me in shambles. FULL-ON SOBBING. 😭left me ugly crying in my room. The emotions were off the charts. Pain, anger, heartbreak—you name it, I felt it. The show doesn’t hold back, and I wasn’t even trying to hold it together anymore. It hits hard. If the first half of the drama had me cheering, the second half completely wrecked me.
And let’s not forget the Si-eun and Soo-ho dynamic. Their friendship is the kind that makes you believe in loyalty and sacrifice, even when the world around them is falling apart.
— Final Thoughts: Fire, Angst, and Pure Brilliance
"Weak Hero Class 1" is a wild, emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Park Ji-hoon owns every scene, the fight sequences are next-level, and the friendships will leave you sobbing into your pillow. This isn’t just a school drama—it’s an EXPERIENCE. And that pen? Iconic.
🔥 Rating: 10/10
Season 2, please hurry—I’m not ready to let these characters go! 🥹

Every Emotion
I didn't hear about this series until it was over but once I did I dove straight in and didn't look back. I need S2 like yesterday and the fact there's a S2 in the making shows how amazing this series was. For staters, if you're looking for something wholesome and loving, you've come to the wrong place. If you love a good fight scene with blood and broken bones you're going to be right at home!Everything about this series was cut throat from ep1 and continued to the credits. As someone who takes friendship to the ultimate extreme, I felt more anger and rage than anything. Even though I was really quiet in school I was never bullied but never had many friends, so the ones I had I took care of. I've almost been jumped on the bathroom just for being guilty by association so I understand the fear of being attacked and having to watch your back. Bullying is a worldwide issue and South Korea is probably the best at portraying the brutality of it all, and this series is a prime example. I highly recommend!
Without any hesitation I would've done EVERYTHING the MC did at the end. No Shame!
Enjoy...

It was hella good; the acting , cast (fuckin hot), music (hella gud), emotions THE FIGHTS!!!I love the fact they added more realistic shit in the kdrama which the webtoon lacks like the teachers and parents for example.

Keeps your interest
WOW, this was so good, I didn’t fast forward once, and I was glued to every scene. If you don’t like violence, revenge, bullies, kids fighting to be excepted for who they are, but are outcasts because of their family situation, fighting, (a lot of fighting), not the kind of ending you would have wanted, you shouldn’t watch this drama. Some good things… friendship, acceptance, revenge, bromance, and that’s about it. The acting, fight scenes, directing, and writing were all beyond great. It’s NOT the kind of drama that will put you in a good mood, especially the end. BUT I highly recommend it! I will say I cried through most of the last episode. Didn’t leave me with a good feeling, but I am really glad I watched it. I will definitely watch season 2, and I’m sure there will be one.Was this review helpful to you?
