one of the best dramas i've seen in a while
I hardly write reviews but I had to write one for TFWY. These 3 days I have spent watching the drama have truly been a delight. The acting, the story, the pacing are all perfect. I typically avoid dramas where the leads are in the same field and even though SBS and SZY are both skaters they specialize in different events. Our ML Shao Bei Sheng as an absolute delight on screen; He's funny, caring, and isn't an absolute rock, he's not afraid to cry and show emotion during the angst and cry when he's happy. He's so funny and his character development his so well paced and planned out. Hats off to Wang Anyu for making him come to life. Our FL Sheng Zheng Yi is an absolute cutie, she's a really inspirational character who has to work for what she achieves. She Joins the Speed skating team with a disadvantage because she has had no professional training, because of her mom opposing her dream, because of an incident that happened to her and as the drama progresses you'll understand why her reasoning isn't unreasonable. SZY is a very raw and flesh-out character who isn't naive like other FL's in dramaland Song Zuer really did well. ALSO THE CHEMISTRY OMG the chemistry was so good??? Our main couple has a tom&jerry dynamic but are equally supportive of each other, they understand that they don't have a lot of time together, because of training and so they really cherish that. The secondary couple are also really cute and a little more cliché but are cute nevertheless. The team dynamic is also a really cute part of the drama. It takes a couple of episodes for the Speed skating team to accept SZY but once they do you really see the friendship between them!! They're some side characters that are annoying but they finish the plot-lines in a couple of episodes. I'd recommend the drama if you are looking for a light&fluffy watch with cute CP and inspirational characters. This drama deserves so much more than what it's getting. very very very underrated soo please do yourself a favor and watch it if it sounds interesting to you.Was this review helpful to you?
Exciting and beautiful action
I binged watch this series as found it good in terms of story and visual effects. The action scenes especially the speed skating is well recorded. Whoever played the double on the action scenes deserves a pat on the back as well.The lead couple has also good chemistry and their romantic scenes are so natural. It is always good to see both ML and FL having strong and individual character strength and their romantic ties complement and motivates each other.
The last 2 episodes will get you to the edge of your seat.

A great drama with lots of lessons
I started this drama because i love fake dating tropes and since this had it why not right? The dating thing was very funny and i love their banter, it felt very real.Then i got hooked onto the skating moments, and how they developed each character, the figure skating moments were beautiful and the speed skating moments were so intense i really felt like i was watching the olympics HAHAHA
The drama also taught lessons about the importance of supporting one another
What i didnt really like was the amt of people in love with ML because they were figure skating partners LOL but for the plot i shall accept
The chemistry between wang anyu and song zuer was so amazing, really hope that they can work together again, they match each other so well
Rewatch value: wellll i would rewatch it for the romance

Drama will have you smiling the whole time!!
Okay, so I started watching this drama right before/during finals week (big yikes, but finals went well, thankfully!). While I had watched the trailer a few weeks ago, I wasn't super interested. BUT, I decided to give this drama a chance when I literally had nothing else to watch, and I'M SO GLAD I DID!!The main couple is so so so cute, and I was happy to see a mature relationship between the two. If you want to see a drama where the main leads support and encourage each other, watch this drama!
I also love the OSTs, particularly the ending OST and the one by Wang Anyu. I will be listening to these songs on repeat (especially now that I'm suffering from drama withdrawal :(((( )
The only thing I wish the drama had done *slightly* better were the scenes with figure skating. As an avid fan of figure skating (both men and women's), I found myself critiquing the skating (particularly the angles it was filmed at) at times. It was also hard to not compare the men's skaters to current skaters like Nathan Chen (quad king!!) and Yuzuru Hanyu, both of whom are able to land multiple quads cleanly. You'll enjoy the drama a lot more if you can manage to not compare the drama's skaters to real-life skaters.
Overall, this drama was wonderful -- I found myself smiling almost the whole way through. I hope this drama gets more attention. PLEASE GIVE THIS DRAMA A CHANCE, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!! <33

In this drama, at the 2/3 mark, the couple is not any closer together than where they started - just misunderstandings, and miscommunications abounding. Not a slow burn more I wanted to force the main couple into a room and lock the door until they hash it out.
The budget is low and as with all skating dramas it's very very hard to suspend your disbelief. The frequent cutaways to stunt doubles or filming 'tricks' on solid ground with the camera moving around them were decently done but not inspiring.
The one highlight was Wang An Yu as Shao Bei Sheng. For once, we have a joyful, lighthearted hero that can show up with emotional intensity and protectiveness instead of your typical ice cold statue that melts 2/3's through. I thought the storyline with his mother was a highlight and salvaged an otherwise unremarkable drama.

Quite excited to see this drama because of Wang An Yu. But turn out this drama quite boring for me, or maybe just my taste in drama changing again into can't just satisfied with mediocre drama like this.Yes this drama quite sweet & tell the story of normal couple, with their problem, personal or relationship. Like Zhu Le Le (LL) and Qu Zhi (QZ), where at first LL can't quite honest with her own feeling. At first I quite like their duration & how Shen Zheng Yi (ZY) & Shao Bei Sheng (BS) develop their own feeling for each other. But later I feel this drama quite boring, with the unnecessarily stretch. Yes I understand this is also sport drama, where I quite happy to see how ZY develop her own progress in speed skating.
Maybe just like I said in the beginning. My taste quite changing after watching so many drama.... Haha... If we want to compare eye to eye, this and skate into love, in my opinion skate is far more interesting to watch, from the struggling in speed skating to the love and relationship between Li Yu Bing & Tang Xue.
There is one big plot hole that they forget completely. They forget about the bet that Shen Zheng Yi and Shao Bei Sheng made in the first place, to fulfill 1 wishes. If the writter don't forget they don't need to make the relationship contract between ZY & BS.
Oh and at this age I also notice 1 big thing that I don't like from c-drama lately. The statement that when they are in a relationship, when the women angry the man better coax her until she's not angry again. OK if that the man fault, of course he must apologize and coax her until she's not angry again, but if the case the woman fault, like when LL & QZ break up, the first respond that BS give to QZ is can't he just tolerate & coax her. Hey you don't know yet whose fault is that, why must the man tolerate & coax the woman.... It's not fair & really give a bad influence for Young woman that watch the drama.
But with every sport drama like this, I quite adore the actress that can act or exercises like the real sportman/woman, because if that me I absolutely can't do all the hardship of exercises like Song Zu Er do with this drama. So extra star for all the actor/ess who done it...
In this drama what I like best, except the struggle of every actor/ess with the exercise, is Wang An Yu. Really funny how he sometimes became that spoiled with ZY. I also like the intimate, pampered interaction between ZY & BS is very youthful. Last but not least the friendship of Zhu Feng girl, how at the end even Luo Xiao Yi learn about cooperation in the group, how to trust your partner in ice.
Overall this just one ordinary youth drama to spend your days with. Nothing too special. Just the song quite good.

First of all I watched this for Wang anyu because he is in my top 3 favourite Chinese actors ,i seen him through forever love drama it's also a good one and then I saw him from a treasure hunting show I don't know name but it is with tian xi wei ,yang di and others his real character was shown there he was really a funny person and outgoing one the I am watching now another one named natural high s 2 with bai jingting ,teng sheng ,jin chen etc it's also good and I liked him more the I was searching for a long time to get his good drama and I found this .It's actually very heartwarming story with no break up and misunderstanding after they start their relationship, it's also comes as enemies to lovers genre and their chemistry is also good ,more over the emotional feelings when they won and had go through lots up and down for their dream that was so touching I was literally crying . it's all about ice skating.
Then about actress actually I don't know her well I never seen her drama also I don't know why I can't find her good drama her acting was smooth and she was literally pretty I saw her pictures from Google but I don't know what happened in the drama her bangs won't suit her but she is cute and matters is all the acting right ? It was really good
Their chemistry is not like hot and satisfying but simple and good to see and giggling

Oh wow!! I had a Great time with this series. It was delightful from episode 1 and maintained until the very last episode. That has been a rare feat in many of the c-dramas I've watched. And they didn't even managed to avoid the M/FL moving to another country for 1-3 years! Came close but they didn't go there and I love that. I adore the ML actor, Wang. Adore him! He acts with his eyes, face, and whole body. He embodies emotion and is so smooth in his acting. I want to watch everything he's been in. The other actors were also enjoyable.I loved this series. I'm a sucker for sports romance dramas, enemies to lovers, ensemble casts, best friends etc, so this hit all my buttons. I am not a rewatch kind of person but for those who are, this is a strong rewatch able show in my opinion.

A high school sports/romance drama pretending to take place at a university campus.
The Good:-The chemistry between the leads
-The reasonably good acting
-The good special effects (I'm assuming Wang An Yu and co. cannot skate at the level shown in the show, but the CG? sure looked believable)
-The high quality production
-The moms ended up being a lot more tolerable than what I initially thought would be possible.
-The weak love triangles
-The fluff (though there could've been much more of it)
-The race in the last episode was pretty exciting and all anime like.
The Neutral:
-It's a sports drama first & romance drama second.
-The second lead couple's problems
-The silly, but still somewhat restrained villains.
-The (happy) ending is only so so. (reasonable for a sports fan, not so much for a romance fan)
The Bad:
-The overall story is extremely juvenile. (13 year old me would've loved it)
-The sports related subplots were really really silly as well. (don't expect an authentic speed skating experience)
-The production team could've picked a taller more athletic looking FL.
-After about 10-15 episodes it started to get boring. (not the fluff, but the skating)
-It's way too long.
-The leads took forever to get together.
-Coach Ulterior Motive
-The whole assist thing (though I've seen something similar in the Olympics in a running competition)

Very light-heart, rom-com drama about having a passion and pursuing it
Absolutely loved this masterpiece. The romance and chemistry between the lead was just soo nice to watch. Loved how the story didn't just focus on romance but also portrayed friendship, healing relationships, passion for a dream and perseverance. The storyline went very smoothly and quickly. Time flew by with this drama! And it had the most passionate ending too. The cast's acting was out of the world extraordinary. I loved and enjoyed it sooooooo much. Words cannot suffice to express how much I adored the acting skills of the cast in this drama. The music felt very very encouraging and sweet at the time, just like the story of this drama so I think the music fitted this drama perfectly. 7 reasons to like a drama
This drama is a perfect example of why I enjoy chinese series most among other asian shows nowadays:- realistic plot without major irritating twists that make you doubt screenwriters live in a modern world.
- keeps your interest by introducing an interesting subject: in this case — sport
- portrays healthy, kind and caring relationships both in friendship, parenthood and romance (This one in particular: leads show so much care for each other, esp for young college kids — it's heartwarming).
- humorous and relatively angst-free
- conflicts and misunderstandings are short-lived and not dragged out
- characters are unique and their growth is obvious and portrayed well — even the not so good (anti-hero) characters
- and finally and most importantly for me — it stays true to its genre. It keeps your interest by smart writing rather than twists, where its either misunderstandings and breakups, or a lunatic murderous character inserted just to keep the watcher engaged. Those I dislike the most. (If its a romantic comedy - why change it to a melodrama or a thriller in the last episodes?!) And this chinese series is none of those — angst-free and loyal to its intent from start to finish.
Special kudos to An Yu and Zu Er — they were super cute and showed so much warmth and kindness through their characters. Love both.

Good Couple Chemistry for a Well Done Sports Drama!
Don't let the title of this review fool you; this drama had a lot of headaches with the different conflicts and plot points that came up; but overall, it's a sweet drama with a healthy relationship, (and great couple chemistry!)The kiss scenes came up pretty short (except for the final one at the end of the series) but their chemistry, skinship, hugs and easy banter make up for it!
Wang An Yu knows how to portray a beliavable relationship with any co-star of his—there was a similar comfortable level of chemistry in his series Forever Love (https://kisskh.at/50395-forever-love) with Julia Xiang.
I would complain about the Coach (he was insufferable throughout, his redemption arc was way too short and easily fogiven, and his terrible sister also did NOT get the kind of ending I had hoped she would—I wanted to see her coming clean about her ugly behaviour, and about the major sabotage that happened that led to a major conflict with the ML)—but, ALAS. I guess the show needed some kind of not-all-black-and-white characters to add depth and complexity.
If you ignore the Coach and his sister—and their insuferable sub-plots and schemes, this drama is truly a heartwarming, nerve wracking show, with a good balance of sports and romance.
The second couple also gets a fleshed out relationship + scenes as well—tho tbh I skipped most of them because I don't usually pay attention to second couples.
Overall; I wouldn't say it's better than GoGoSquid, or Falling Into Your Smile, but I would say its on par with Skate Into Love, and is a pretty solid, well executed drama! If you need an itnerim draam to watch while you wait for more shows to come out, this is it.
