Sweet home season 2

Well it is important to mention that some characters you loved from season one will not survive and their death's is pretty early in the season. Many people also do not like this season and I admit it is not my favourite but I do think that it is still a good one - story just change a little and we get new characters.
Song Kang's hair this season!!! Perfect, I love it. I love even more chemistry between him and Go MinSi, sorry I do not see any between her and soldier.
I do not thing that it is more brutal than previous season althougth this time there is a little nudity.

I am very disappointed.

After the impressive first season of Sweet Home, I was hoping that the second would build upon the tension, character depth, and emotional power that made the original so impactful. Unfortunately, Season 2 didn’t live up to those expectations. While it had a few strong moments and visually striking scenes, overall it felt scattered and unfocused – a season torn between ambition and poor execution.

One of the biggest issues for me was the lack of narrative focus. Whereas Season 1 thrived in the confined setting of the Green Home apartment, creating a claustrophobic and intense atmosphere, Season 2 expanded into multiple locations, which diluted the tension. The idea of a broader world was intriguing in theory, but in practice, it led to a chaotic pace and underdeveloped subplots.

The characters I loved from the first season felt either sidelined or altered in a disappointing way. Many returning characters barely had screen time, and the new ones didn’t manage to connect or evoke much sympathy. Cha Hyun Soo, who was the emotional core of the first season, felt passive and distant this time around. The internal conflict and growth that made him so compelling were largely absent.

From a technical standpoint, the production still shines – the monsters, though less terrifying this time, were well-designed, and some action sequences were genuinely dynamic. However, visuals alone aren’t enough to make up for a weak script and lack of emotional depth. The music, unlike in Season 1, didn’t stand out – it felt more like background noise than an emotional driver.

The writing was the core problem. Many scenes felt rushed, character motivations were unclear, and some dialogues came off as forced. The show seemed to aim for a bigger, more epic scale, but lost the human element that made Season 1 so powerful.

Overall, Sweet Home Season 2 was disappointing. I gave it 5.5/10 because it still had some technical merits and interesting ideas, but compared to the first season, it felt like a step backward.

Season 1 is slightly better

I absolutally loved season 1 so I was excited to see that season 3 will be out later this week. Season 2 is good but it felt like the directors ran out of ideas, especially for the monsters. In the first season all of the monsters were different and were based off of their desires but in this season a lot of them looked the same. Maybe they really did run out of new monster ideas or they were just lazy. Who knows..
I hope season 3 will have a little more than this season but just in case, I will try my best to not get my hopes up.

fast-paced plot with a look into government

This season was very enjoyable to watch since it was shorter than the first with a lot of things going on. There are less deaths to main characters than the first season. Most of the monsters lost their depth and just became one of many. There were only a couple handful that still came with a backstory.

There wasn’t much of a purpose to this season other than telling the story of what’s happening to the world outside of Green Homes. The government has fallen, and the military is trying their best to protect the survivors while struggling with their hierarchy. New characters were introduced that I personally loved very much.

The main point of this is probably the child that the firefighter had and her upbringing.

I love this kdrama

It was interesting, not what i expected i still don’t know if i love it but i like it, it needs more episodes, which will come out in season 3 summer 2024, i’d wait till season 3 drops if i knew earlier, but yeah i liked it, the actors were hot, they killed off almost every character from season 1 unfortunately but it was still worth watching, it lacked details and it’s still a bit confusing. But i'm really excited for season 3 and i hope it's 16 episodes or at least 12 instead of making season 4. Also i would love to see more of song kang. Overall 8.5/10.

Very disappointing compared to the first season

I feel like this season has a bit of different vibe compared to the first one. In the first season we had a select characters that we got to follow and know throughout the show. Now, many new were introduced that felt flat compared to previous characters.

I also think Cha Hyun So got way too little screentime, especially for being the MAIN character. Like there were three whole hour long episode were we never saw him once and he wasn't even mentioned. I also would have liked the show to explore the lab institution more. I felt like the show kinda glossed over that part.

I feel like the OG crew from the first season just did not get that much screentime and were kinda just put to the side. Instead sooo many new characters were introduced that for the most part did not get any depth. We got to follow Lee Eun Yoo quite much, but I were kinda disappointed in her character development. She just kinda turned into this badass fighter type, which I think kinda took away her personality. She became a bit flat.

I think the military and the shelter thing is a interesting idea. I did like to see a broader perspective about the virus and just to see what people do in order to survive. But the whole thing just felt a bit flat. I did not get that invested in it compared to the previous season. The sense of dread and suspense was not the same. Still, there were a lot of suspenseful and actionfilled scenes I just did not feel that invested in them.

There were som major character deaths in this season, but they did just not hit that hard compared to the first season. In the first season you got to sit with the feelings and feel what the characters felt at that moment.

I also feel like they took away the monsters uniqueness a bit. There were still new and unique ones, but there were one scene were the military got chased by like 20-30 identical monsters and that just feels highly unlikely to happen. The monsters are some sort of manifestation of ones personal desire. I doubt 20-30 people had the exact same desire and became identical monsters. It's not a super big deal, but it does take away this real scary and threatening uniqueness the monsters have. The uniqueness of the monsters is something I really like, it makes them much more threatening because you never know what you will face.

I think the plot started to become a bit messy with this season. With many new characters and environments I feel like we never really got to sit with each thing for long. They are also progressing with the monster virus, but now it just feels really messy and difficult to follow. I were also not a super big fan on the monster baby thing. There weren't anything like that in the webtoon (to be fair this whole season is going off-script from the webtoon) and it felt a bit too much and messy in a way. They did not really do much with it. I feel like it could have been handled in a better way, we didn't even get to see much of Seo Yi Kyung and her child's relationship or how it progressed. It were just told by some few flashbacks.

The pacing were pretty good, especially during the first episodes, but then it kinda fell for a bit. The episodes that took place after the timelapse did not have that good of a pace. It felt a bit dragged out and during this time there were also so many new characters being introduced that I did not end up caring about so that might be a factor to why the pace felt slower.

This season has a noticeably higher budget. There were a lot more different settings and great environmental shots. The special effects are really good with great explosive and blood effects. The production did not lower in quality at all. The soundtrack is still really good, but not as good or iconic as the previous season.

Also, just a side note, this season felt a bit fan servicey. I felt like some of the scenes were there to be eye candy, there were quite a bit of nakedness, especially on men. I also felt like the season had some weird things that could be catered towards some kinks, like the whole monster pregnancy thing and being naked drenched in blood.

I might be bit harsh with my critic, but I really liked the first season and felt a bit disappointed with this season. This season were still good, but I did not get the same investment or feeling compared to the first season.

confusing and too many characters - still a compelling watch

I was eagerly awaiting Sweet Home Season 2 and binge watched it over a weekend. We have all of our characters back from Season 1 and also a number of new characters. Humans are struggling to survive and stay human and the big question if there really is a cure/vaccine that was developed in the lab runs all the way through this Season.
ITs very dark and apocalyptic with hardly any moments when the dark and depressing tone is lightened. There is a lot going on, so much that I got quite confused and some events are not explained at all. At least they are not explained in this Season... Personally I found there were just too many new characters with no obvious reason to be in the story line. It felt a bit like Game of Thrones Book 4.... if you read the books you probably know what I mean.
But still it was a totally compelling watch, I sat through it and have now more questions then I had after Season 1. Thankfully we will get Season 3 next year!

melhorou

I skipped a lot while watching it because Cha Hyunsu was rarely shown in the episodes. As the main character, I think he should have appeared more.
Still, it was fun watching as it was detailed, and I liked how it showed character development.
The story was good. It managed to leave an impression on the audience. I would say it was not the best, but it is still one of the best zombie dramas I have watched.
By the end, it had. I am sure the third season will come. I will be waiting for the third season.

Improvement

I didn't really like the most of the first season but this one is pretty solid as u can see the character's development and the story as well as the world of the story has been expanded from just one building to a city to give space to more characters to help the story progress.
And main notes for me is the acting as finely u can see the actress putting more effort on their characters the thing that was missing on the first one

A Fall From Grace

I can't put into words how shocked I was after watching the first season and how unexpectedly good it was, but at the same time, I was too afraid that it was only going downhill from then due to how high a bar it set.

I guess my nightmares turned out real. As much as it pains me, this season was a claustrophobic mess of intertwined plotlines that tried too hard to complicate the picture and raise the stakes that at more times than not ended up killing all the setup from the last season in favor of some newly introduced characters that are hardly relatable, likable, or redeemable in any way, shape, or form.

In short, this was such a snoozer with only the first part of the seventh episode that had any substance or enjoyment to it.
I do hope the third season redeems the image of this series, or else, this would be such a shame.

Suspens - Good actors - Touching characters

Suspens - Good actors - Touching characters.
But with the Netflix/Occidental effect, they've decided to make a lot of seasons, and it seems for me, that like the walking dead and co, it lose the main story, add not interesting characters, and inconsistencies in the end.
So the first season, I really think it was very good, but after, I feel like it doesn't really follow what it should have, and lost the intensity of the mains characters and story.
So I give 10 for the first season, but after it, I think it lost his appealing.
