deep sigh…

It really didn’t need a second season if this is what it was going to be… In my opinion what really made the first seasons vibe so good was the fact that they were in the apartment building. Now we’re just left in the wild, with a whole new cast of characters and a boring storyline. The characters feel two dimensional and I still have no idea what they were trying to accomplish.

Song Kang is great as always but the character of Hyeon Su we grew to love is nowhere to be found. The cgi and the monsters are great, of course, but I just don’t think there’s any point for this season. Still haven’t watched the last season and probably won’t.

Idk how to feel

I like the character development of some characters, esp the little boy, I mean he is obvs gonna be a lil annoying and rude, he has been traumatised. Lee Eun yu development felt a bit bland, she was a bit annoying at times and I was just thinking GIRL JUST STOP FOR A SEC. Barely saw Cha hyun su. Story felt rushed, a lot of focus on the military men. I liked the little girl, and the little baby monster. I think the CGI was a lil better this time, but overall it was okay.

Even better than the first season.

If you liked the first season of Sweet Home, you will definitely like the second season. I particularly like the addition of new characters, such as Jung Jin Young's character, the character Seo Yi Kyung's daughter, and many of the characters in the Crow Brigade and the new facility. The story expands to show more of the several relationships: Cha Hyun Soo and Pyeon Sang Wook, Set Yi Kyung and her daughter, as well as Lee Eun Yoo's continued development, and the evolution of the monsters. There are some good twists and turns, and some major changes for some of the main characters ... Seo Yi Kyung especially.

I can hardly wait to see where the story will go in the next season.

Not better than S1 But let's hope for S3 to be good

Sweet Home Season 2 Episode 8 leaves us with more questions than answers. Chief Ji’s mystery feels childish in front of the Bamseom neohumans. Her husband turned and Hyun-su killed him to save Eun-yu. As for the tunnel thing, her son probably turned too and she feeds him symptomatic people like Seung-wan. She also probably wanted to feed Mrs. Oh to her hungry son. But why did she need Ye-seul to cut the lights?

And is there something to Seon-hwa’s pretence and Peter’s shadiness? Chan-young and Ha-ni may show up at the stadium though, to take down Ji’s son and Tak if he loses control. We also get the answer as to why someone as deranged as Ui-myeong doesn’t hurt Yi-kyung when she goes into labour. But this plot twist was possibly not thought of in season 1 which is why he treats her like a stranger at Green Home.

It also gives us a small explanation of why their kid is so powerful, she was possibly conceived when Ui-myeong had already started turning. It also seems that Ui-myeong convinced monster Hyun-su who had blue eyes in the mall in episode 1. This is why Hyun-su changed his mind when he came back to his human self after the car crash.

But there is one slow buildup we don’t mind – the cocoon monsters. Like Mrs. Im and the Bamseom monsters, they can control their monsterization. This means Eun-hyuk is more or less himself but powerful. They really blindsided us by not adding Eun-hyuk’s actor, Lee Do-hyun to the cast. Does this mean we will also get monster Ji-su in season 3? We don’t see her die either. The Crow Platoon has grown on us too and hope they are not all dead.

Season 1 is slightly better

I absolutally loved season 1 so I was excited to see that season 3 will be out later this week. Season 2 is good but it felt like the directors ran out of ideas, especially for the monsters. In the first season all of the monsters were different and were based off of their desires but in this season a lot of them looked the same. Maybe they really did run out of new monster ideas or they were just lazy. Who knows..
I hope season 3 will have a little more than this season but just in case, I will try my best to not get my hopes up.

Stop adding military storylines. No one cares.

This season is a little rough. This season spent WAY too much time on the military storyline in my opinion and not enough on our main characters we loved from season one. I feel like these shows always end up having some kind of military storyline and they're always the worst part of any show, even if it's done well.

I will say I loved seeing Song Kang play the role of his normal character as well as the evil side.

This season feels more like a filler...to show that the monsters are humens too

A Season That Sets the Stage
This season of the drama was a bit slow. It felt necessary to move the story along, but it had clear issues with how fast things moved. Even so, it offered enough interesting parts to keep the main story going.

The best part of the season was the way it slowly showed that the "monsters" are also human. The show explored the difficult truth that these creatures are not simply evil, which blurred the lines between monster and person. This complex look at good and bad was a solid reward in the second half.

However, getting there was tough. The first half, which focused mostly on the people in the stadium, really struggled. I just didn't connect with those side characters, and their stories often felt like unnecessary filler that took attention away from the main mystery. Because of this, the first episodes were the weakest and easiest to lose interest in.

The show finally got exciting in the last few episodes, which were definitely the highlight. The main characters returned and took center stage, and their appearance was captivating. They delivered the action and emotional rush the series needed. That final scene was done very well and clearly set up the next season.

Overall, the season did what it needed to do: set up a huge finale. Even though the pacing was better at the end, and I missed the main leads for most of the run, the new themes and the strong ending make this season an okay, if uneven, watch. I'm ready to see how the story finally ends.

fast-paced plot with a look into government

This season was very enjoyable to watch since it was shorter than the first with a lot of things going on. There are less deaths to main characters than the first season. Most of the monsters lost their depth and just became one of many. There were only a couple handful that still came with a backstory.

There wasn’t much of a purpose to this season other than telling the story of what’s happening to the world outside of Green Homes. The government has fallen, and the military is trying their best to protect the survivors while struggling with their hierarchy. New characters were introduced that I personally loved very much.

The main point of this is probably the child that the firefighter had and her upbringing.

I love this kdrama

It was interesting, not what i expected i still don’t know if i love it but i like it, it needs more episodes, which will come out in season 3 summer 2024, i’d wait till season 3 drops if i knew earlier, but yeah i liked it, the actors were hot, they killed off almost every character from season 1 unfortunately but it was still worth watching, it lacked details and it’s still a bit confusing. But i'm really excited for season 3 and i hope it's 16 episodes or at least 12 instead of making season 4. Also i would love to see more of song kang. Overall 8.5/10.

Very disappointing compared to the first season

I feel like this season has a bit of different vibe compared to the first one. In the first season we had a select characters that we got to follow and know throughout the show. Now, many new were introduced that felt flat compared to previous characters.

I also think Cha Hyun So got way too little screentime, especially for being the MAIN character. Like there were three whole hour long episode were we never saw him once and he wasn't even mentioned. I also would have liked the show to explore the lab institution more. I felt like the show kinda glossed over that part.

I feel like the OG crew from the first season just did not get that much screentime and were kinda just put to the side. Instead sooo many new characters were introduced that for the most part did not get any depth. We got to follow Lee Eun Yoo quite much, but I were kinda disappointed in her character development. She just kinda turned into this badass fighter type, which I think kinda took away her personality. She became a bit flat.

I think the military and the shelter thing is a interesting idea. I did like to see a broader perspective about the virus and just to see what people do in order to survive. But the whole thing just felt a bit flat. I did not get that invested in it compared to the previous season. The sense of dread and suspense was not the same. Still, there were a lot of suspenseful and actionfilled scenes I just did not feel that invested in them.

There were som major character deaths in this season, but they did just not hit that hard compared to the first season. In the first season you got to sit with the feelings and feel what the characters felt at that moment.

I also feel like they took away the monsters uniqueness a bit. There were still new and unique ones, but there were one scene were the military got chased by like 20-30 identical monsters and that just feels highly unlikely to happen. The monsters are some sort of manifestation of ones personal desire. I doubt 20-30 people had the exact same desire and became identical monsters. It's not a super big deal, but it does take away this real scary and threatening uniqueness the monsters have. The uniqueness of the monsters is something I really like, it makes them much more threatening because you never know what you will face.

I think the plot started to become a bit messy with this season. With many new characters and environments I feel like we never really got to sit with each thing for long. They are also progressing with the monster virus, but now it just feels really messy and difficult to follow. I were also not a super big fan on the monster baby thing. There weren't anything like that in the webtoon (to be fair this whole season is going off-script from the webtoon) and it felt a bit too much and messy in a way. They did not really do much with it. I feel like it could have been handled in a better way, we didn't even get to see much of Seo Yi Kyung and her child's relationship or how it progressed. It were just told by some few flashbacks.

The pacing were pretty good, especially during the first episodes, but then it kinda fell for a bit. The episodes that took place after the timelapse did not have that good of a pace. It felt a bit dragged out and during this time there were also so many new characters being introduced that I did not end up caring about so that might be a factor to why the pace felt slower.

This season has a noticeably higher budget. There were a lot more different settings and great environmental shots. The special effects are really good with great explosive and blood effects. The production did not lower in quality at all. The soundtrack is still really good, but not as good or iconic as the previous season.

Also, just a side note, this season felt a bit fan servicey. I felt like some of the scenes were there to be eye candy, there were quite a bit of nakedness, especially on men. I also felt like the season had some weird things that could be catered towards some kinks, like the whole monster pregnancy thing and being naked drenched in blood.

I might be bit harsh with my critic, but I really liked the first season and felt a bit disappointed with this season. This season were still good, but I did not get the same investment or feeling compared to the first season.

confusing and too many characters - still a compelling watch

I was eagerly awaiting Sweet Home Season 2 and binge watched it over a weekend. We have all of our characters back from Season 1 and also a number of new characters. Humans are struggling to survive and stay human and the big question if there really is a cure/vaccine that was developed in the lab runs all the way through this Season.
ITs very dark and apocalyptic with hardly any moments when the dark and depressing tone is lightened. There is a lot going on, so much that I got quite confused and some events are not explained at all. At least they are not explained in this Season... Personally I found there were just too many new characters with no obvious reason to be in the story line. It felt a bit like Game of Thrones Book 4.... if you read the books you probably know what I mean.
But still it was a totally compelling watch, I sat through it and have now more questions then I had after Season 1. Thankfully we will get Season 3 next year!

melhorou
