Eye-opening, light paced and interesting!
One of my first law dramas, and added to that a massive twist of shedding light from an autistic's perspective. Loved the way how cases involving various types of crimes involving businesses, corruption, cyber-crime, divorce & abuse, and autism itself were portrayed and reasonable solutions were derived. Honestly, I had to rewind a few dialogues to get the crux of the entire situation and I'm always left flabbergasted by how the protagonist finds tough-to-find loopholes and saves the day!Do not underestimate the show though, at first even I felt the possibility of me not being able to relate, but in reality it showcases so many flaws in abled people as well.
I would say for once that if you're looking for a law drama, get a glimpse into problem-solving skills, sympathize and understand the beautiful world of autism I would like you to give it a watch.
Although the romance is slow and budding, the show is quite interesting and leaves you hooked to the seat until you finish off the entire episode. But there is another unexpected romance at the near end, which didn't hesitate in making my heart flutter and complete the show. And yes it's quite light-hearted as well.

really good autism rep but episodes get repetitive
i really really liked this show! i think that it is one of the best asd rep out there. i have asd myself and i think that the actress and writers really did well presenting an autistic person on screen and the struggles and misunderstandings that come from it. sometimes the way that certain characters acted towards woo young woo because of her autism made me angry! but that only made me like the show more. one of the things i like the most about woo's character is that the writers didnt baby her, but also didnt make her an emotionless robot. she is a character with depth that i can really relate to sometimes.the special effects i think are really cute too.
the only critique i would maybe give the show is that it gets kind of boring in the middle, because the episodes get really repetitive with little plot progression i think that maybe they couldve made the series a bit shorter than 16 episodes. i started this series when it first aired but at episode 12-13 i took a long break because nothing super interesting was happening. it got interesting afterwards tho,, but only because i forced myself to finish the show.

This drama perfectly balances legal cases, heartfelt moments, humor, romance, and meaningful life lessons without ever feeling overly heavy.The biggest reason this drama works so well is Park Eun-bin. Her performance is simply phenomenal. She completely disappears into the role of Woo Young-woo, making every expression, gesture, and line feel incredibly authentic. It's one of those performances that you forget you're watching an actress because she becomes the character. This role alone proves how versatile and talented she is, and it's no surprise that she received so much praise for it.
The case-of-the-week format keeps every episode fresh, while the main story gradually develops the relationships between the characters. The supporting cast is also fantastic, especially Kang Tae-oh and Kang Ki-young, whose chemistry with Park Eun-bin makes every scene enjoyable. The whale imagery, cinematography, and soundtrack are beautifully used to reflect Young-woo's perspective, giving the drama a unique identity.
That said, the drama isn't completely flawless. Some of the legal cases in the second half aren't as memorable or emotionally impactful as those in the beginning, and a few side characters could have received more development. The romance is sweet, but some conflicts are resolved a little too conveniently. There has also been discussion about the show's portrayal of autism, with some viewers feeling that Young-woo represents a "genius savant" stereotype rather than the broader diversity of autistic experiences.
Even with those minor flaws, this drama remains an unforgettable experience. It's warm, inspiring, funny, emotional, and filled with lovable characters. Every episode left me smiling, and Park Eun-bin delivered one of the finest acting performances I've seen in any Korean drama. This is one of those rare series that deserves all the praise it received.

This series will always have a special place
Great and inspirational. This series is an excellent choice for those who enjoy dramatic themes with romance and comedy. This is one of those series that I will remember for quite some time to come. It follows a number of dramatic themes resulting from a number of court cases throughout the series. In some respects, these cases have an impact on the cast and their normal lives and ways of thinking. A strong point of the series is the portrayal of Woo Young Woo by the remarkable actress Park Eun-Bin. During her tenure as an attorney with autism spectrum disorder, her performance was remarkably strong. It is also important to note that the supporting cast does an outstanding job in many regards. As a result of this series, I have been reminded of various reasons why I enjoy watching K-dramas. Excellent writing and outstanding acting. Definitely watchable
Before i started this show i have been avoiding to watch it becoz of some -ve comments. I am glad i watched it. It was a new plot and after watching Hyena i have started liking Law dramas. It was not as good as Hyena for me but it was still good. If you are putting off just like me, go watch it. Nicely executed and definitely awaiting season 2. It was nice seeing Kang Tae Oh as main lead and i appreciated the acting of Kang Ki Young. It was difficult role to perform and have to shout out loud for Park Eun Bin.What i didn't like - It was getting little draggy towards the end.

When beginning the show, I tried to keep my expectations to the minimum considering the hype. But it lived up to what everyone was talking about and I am glad I decided to give it a chance. Story, not perfect but still was well written. At places, I thought why is only Young-Woo's life so fucked up. I guess it's still acceptable as long as they kept me hooked on the plot. Now I am desperately waiting for the Season 2.What I loved:
1. Park Eun Bin's acting as Young Woo. She aced the role and made me like her weirdest and stupidest of actions. Within a few minutes of getting into the show, I was already rooting for her.
2. Lee Jong Ho: These types of fictional characters are the reason why I am still single at the age of 25. He was the sweetest and most understanding character. I just loved him! (gonna manifest a lover like him 😂😂)
3. Choi Soo Yeon: In the beginning, I thought she is gonna be a negative character, considering how she would taunt Young Woo but she also always stood for Young Woo.
4. Kwon Min Woo: I know many will disagree but I found his jealous behaviour to be more realistic. I totally understood where he was coming from trying to pull down Young Woo. Personally, I won't do it but I get it and like his character for being brutally honest about his intentions.
5. Young Woo's team: From the very beginning, Young Woo got great support from her team. In my personal experience, even I have never got such kind of support when joining a new company. Sometimes, it takes months to prove your value and worth to your colleagues. She got nice people to work with from the start.
6. Choi Sang Hyeon, Young Woo's brother: I am glad he got a good progressive character. I believe Young Woo deserves at least one family member that is nice, respectful and has a conscience.
Things I hated:
1. Young Woo's dad: that guy is the stupidest person I have ever seen. I want to believe whatever he did was for Young Woo but it was so stupid that I can't get over it. I mean he got his daughter a job by making a deal to reveal who her mother is knowing that the mom is damn famous. I mean I can see how it's gonna end by just thinking about it. Stupid characters doing stupid things.
2. Attorney Jang: A few more episodes and I would have punched my laptop seeing that guy behave like an asshole with a pea-sized brain. He was giving full on Dolores Umbridge vibes. He was in the show for like 3 episodes yet I hated him the most. I hope he's not in the next season or else I might actually break my laptop...😅
That's it guys. I am going to stop now. I just hope they do justice with the next season and give a little more romance between Young Woo -Joon Ho and Soo Yeon-Min Woo....

One of the best K-drama's ever!!진심이야
If I'm very honest with you if I didn't see the little edit's that were being shown on youtube, I don't think I would have watched this drama, nor would I have renewed my Netflix account just so I can watch this drama. That's how good it is. So I watched episode 13, but you know how at the end of each episode they give a small preview of what's to come in the next episode. yeah I saw that plus the ending that was shocking left me in tears. I was bawling my eyes so much that I sent a voice message to my friends crying because of how sad I was . OK so my dude didn't die but now there's another problem, they broke up 우아,now I don't know what's to happen in next episode hopefully they can sort out their differences and work it out. My guy kwon min woo finally had a change of character in the final episodes of this drama, I was so happy. I was very sceptical about the last episode as there was a lot of issues to cover in the final one, luckily everything turned out so well. Supposedly there's going to be a season 2.I don't know how to feel about that since if they are to have a season it would be already in the making or after kang tea ho returns from his mandatory military service. Hopefully that happens but even if it doesn't I'm very happy with the ending we were presented with for EAW.Was this review helpful to you?
Characters I'll always remember
So… I decided to watch this kdrama because of the hype, because EVERYONE was watching it. Thank god I did too, because it’s now in my list of favorite dramas.STORY / PLOT
I thought that having a lawyer with autism was a really clever idea and I was curious as to how they would carry the story. They did it really well.
I need to mention the cases, because it’s a law drama. The cases in this one aren’t of the type I’m used to see. They usually put strong cases, such as murders, but in this drama this wasn’t the case, so it was refreshing to watch. They are more simple cases but with difficulties, of course. More like everyday life cases.
There is more romance than what I expected, because as Young Woo has autism well... you know. It was so sweet and I loved it.
CHARACTERS
Woo Young Woo is amazing, I loved her from the beginning. This character has a nice evolution in an aspect I can't talk about or it will be a spoiler, but her thinking about this is so nice.
The main man character, OH MY GOD. He’s such a lovely and sweet person I can tell you that he is like an angel that fell from the sky and got lost in our world. He treats Young Woo amazingly. He is so kind with her and always sees her as anyone else. I mean, he didn’t treat her like she had autism. He is one of the best characters I could encounter in a kdrama.
The secondary characters were lovely too, specially the head of the group of lawyers. I love him.
MUSIC
I didn’t pay attention to this really, but I got to add to my playlist a couple of them and they are nice, so I’m okay with the OSTs of this kdrama.

The World from an Autistic Perspective
Woo Young Woo has been having a hard time landing a job after graduating as one of the top students in Seoul National University Law School, simply because she is in the spectrum. Finally a job offer came from a top law firm, Hanbada and she started as a rookie attorney with a 1 year contract, dealing with various cases that teaches her about the world and its workings. Though sometimes bullied by her fellow rookie coworkers or yelled at by clients and senior attorneys, she still manages to learn about love and making concessions, eventually learning the secret behind her father’s simple background that led to her not so simple identity.First off I just had to give it off to ALL the actors in the cast, from the one who played young Young Woo who appeared less than 15minutes to the mainlead adult Young Woo. Every single one played their roles well and I could really feel the connection between them. The one that hit me tha hardest is how lonely Young Woo’s father’s life had been raising an autistic child all by himself, with absolutely no support system nor job stability, knowing that he is throwing his dreams and life away to make a life for somebody who may never learn how to express her love back at him, his autistic and socially-challenged daughter, Young Woo. Imagine raising a child who could never stand holding hands or hugging you for more than 1 minute, it wouldve been infuriating, especially when youre all alone with no one to confide into or seek warmth from, ie a soulmate. Young Woo’s father deserves the Parent of The Year Award for having that kind of endurance.
Although the story is very simple and straightforward with a pinch of political maneoevre, it still manages to keep my attention on with all those quirky characters they throw in, from the sassy Dong Geurami to the colourful attitudes of judges. I really liked Honju, although he is an extremely green flag that seem too good to be true. It’s somewhat sad to see him constantly giving in to Woo Youngwoo cuz she just couldnt understand social cues, deep down I know he’s going to be father 2.0 if he ever gets together with Youngwoo. Of course it is a good thing for Youngwoo, hey autistic people long for love too, just in their own way that may not seem like love to the ordinary people.
A fun fact that I find unique about the show is there wasnt any true villain in the show, even the horribly selfish and cunning Tae Sumi and Kwon Minwoo eventually redeemed themselves at the end.
The conflicts and tensions here isnt as pressing as other stories i’ve seen, but okay for a moderate-paced family drama. I look forward to Season 2.

For me a little bit missing link in your script is Jun-ho figure. It will be very helpful if you make a scene background of childhood Jun-ho, who was a kindhearted boy, for instance began with his relationship with handicap animals, maybe cats or dogs? Which in his previous experiences the extraordinary behavior of these handicap animals didn't bother him at all, even attractive or made him extra take care or love them.
Then it's not too "jumped" to an adult Ji Ho who fall in love with Woo, for she with extraordinary behavior which did not happen in ordinary life...
