The acting was INSANE!!
Every emotion pain angertrauma feels so real that at some points it actually makes you uneasy. You dont feel like you’re watching characters.. you feel like you’re watching real people going through something brutal.
What really stands out is how deeply the film pulls you into its world you start caring about certain characters so much that you just want to protect them.. while at the same time feeling pure anger towards others and THAT emotional contrast hits hard and at the same time.. its not a perfect film some scenes feel a bit abrupt and certain transitions could’ve been smoother.. there are moments where you feel like something ended too quickly or could’ve been explored more... but even with that, the impact stays strong.
This is not atypical thriller or emotional drama. It leans more in dark psychological and uncomfortable storytelling... the kind that makes you reflect on things like pain choices and how far someone can go when pushed. It’s one of those movies that doesn’t just entertain you it makes you sit with your thoughts after it ends... if you’re someone who prefers light or fast paced content, this might feel too heavy but if you’re okay with something intense emotional and thought provoking.. its definitely worth watching.
wont say flawless but powerful enough to stay in your head

Life is worth living even when it's tragic
Overall this was a very depressing movie. That doesn't mean it wasn't a worthy movie to watch. It did contain some very violent and tragic content. It's really sad that poor marginalized people can live a life that's challenging and hopeless. The twin that sought revenge for the violence perpetrated against his disabled brother was a brave and conflicted person. I rather agreed with his comment, "Why do the victims have to forgive?" The plot twist at the end of the movie tied together so many elements of the movie. The awful evil supposedly kind teacher deserved to die. He raped that poor disabled boy weekly. Then on Christmas Eve when he discovered him brutally beaten, raped him again. There was no justification for such evil! Then the POS selfishly said that he had had a bad day! Evil-- pure evil! It was a difficult movie to watch. The story, the acting and every element of the story was excellent. The low score for the rewatch value is simply because this was a tragic exceptionally sad movie that would be difficult to watch again. Was this review helpful to you?

a Christmas carol and the way it is written
I overal like this movie and believe it deserves the praise it got, the problem that I had with it is it's way of the direction of the disabled brother In him being the victim, also I feel like some aspects in the story weren't fully fleshed out and there where definitely scene that weren't needed and was just there to be there. the story was compelling in why our main character wanted to get his revenge and his mindset and perspective but leaving out key view from other characters that showed have been more prevalent to the story and where it was going. I wished they had more focus on how the Sa of the twin and other student at the school had affected them and how it affected the relationships around them. I know not every thing can be put into a 2 hour movie but I feel like if we the viewers are to find out about the characters misfortune we should get more insight on them even if it's from themsin character it's still possible by using the the MC lack of understanding ofwhat was going on to his brother as an advantage of portraying the twin. It's fine if people don't agree with me, this is just my view. so don't take it so seriously. Was this review helpful to you?
Trust
Bravo to Park Jin Young for his outstanding performances, I said that because he played a dual role. Even though Il Woo felt some type of way about his twin’s disability, deep down he really loved him. This movie will expose a lot of darkness surrounding the characters that are being portrayed in this film. You will experience an emotional connection between Jo Woo and his brother, plus his brother’s best friend. I’m just sorry that it took me so long to find this jaw dropping movie!! I would not be surprised if this movie received a lot of awards for not only acquiring an outstanding cast and crew etc. It will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat!!Thanks to all the subbers for giving me the opportunity to watch such an incredible movie!!

This movie made me feel beyond anger
i m someone who likes watching fucked up movies and shows... i have a sense of darkness that i explore through cinema . i v watched many shows displaying messed up shit , and that it is why i checked this one out. This movie didnt evoke any sadness in me , my eyes didnt tear not once . I was too angry to be sad . This movie made so furious. I felt a sense of violence within me ,which is something far from my actual personality.
I just kept getting angry and fucking livid as the movie progressed. Every moment of it, made me clench my fist , curse out loud, and just want to beat up someone.
As an Idol, Jin Young proved himself as an actor with this movie . i genuinely hope he was okay afterwards because playing both twins roles . And experiencing both their feelings is just sick torture and mentally devastating. He did an amazing job as an actor, i sincerely hope he snaps out of this character asap.
About the plot , i have to say i wasnt upset at all about Il Woo s negligence of his retarded brother. He was a kid aswell , he needed guidance and supervision aswell, he was a young boy who was given a burden heavier than he deserves. However I was immensely boiling about that counselor who killed Woo Ioo . the actor was sooo convincing, i knew he was fucked up right from the beginning.
i dont wanna get too deep into the storyline, it will just make me angry all over again. but what i d like to say is , these things do happen in our reality, and special needs people and even sane people get exploited and toyed with . we live in a dark world, and this movie was a crude piece of it
PS: the rewatch value i wanna give is 0. Please dont check this movie unless you can handle it.

PARK JINYOUNG DUAL-ROLE???
Park Jinyoung truly elevates Christmas Carol with his dual-role performance. He creates a clear emotional separation between the twins while keeping both characters equally compelling. His ability to balance and differentiate them without overacting is very impressive. It’s a performance that feels both controlled and powerful. Was this review helpful to you?
If there is God...
I hope you won’t watch this movie for Christmas. The title, Christmas Carol, may mislead those searching for a film to lift up the holiday spirit. Instead, we are given a gut-wrenching story about a crime that was never properly addressed—one that becomes more and more depressing as the events unfold.I feel this movie is made for people of faith like me, to provoke our religious ideas about God’s providence, His blessings, forgiveness, and redemption. The film asks: If God is real, how can you believe and trust in Him when He allows such terrible things to happen? But I would say that the pain and anguish we feel in the face of evil are themselves proof that there must be some higher justice. In the end, I really liked this movie, even though I don’t think I will want to watch it again.
The main actor, Park Jin-young, plays both himself and his brother, and he was truly pushed to the limit to authentically express and convey the emotional reality of his characters. The other actors were good as well, but he displayed a rawness of emotion rarely seen on screen. So even if only for his performance, this movie is worth seeing.
Now, let us sing a Christmas carol. Which one is your favourite?

Plain shock value to delude the viewer into thinking they saw sth of substance -- not impressed
Can I say I expected the ending? Yes. I had a feeling from the very beginning.Great performances from all the actors.
A heart-wrenching story.
Albeit very confusing. The last 30 minutes tied some ends, but everything before that, I was wondering what is happening. who is who and how they relate. so many unnecessary characters just overwhelmed my cognitive space. Also it seems they used graphic scenes to manipulate you into believing it is a good story because it is "in your face" story. But really it is not -- the script is weak, and we don't get to know the characters well. None of them. And there is too many characters. And so many painful scenes that you should feel pity for. But you feel like intruding. Because you have no sense of heaviness to seeing gruesome scenes, except for the emotions left as the consequence of blatant surprise effect and feeling sorry for the brother who was handicaped and murdered. Cmon, please, you can also give viewer emotions through your story, cinema and script without fully exploiting our pre-existing bias towards the premise.
On the other hand, the main antagonist had quite an intriguing characterisation. I don't wanna give out spoilers so I will say they seemed to have such layering to them that could have been expanded on. By the end you get a bit into their mind and see how being a sociopath is complex condition for a reason. I thought it should have been explored in more depth because they gave them an interesting twist.
As for our main man, Park Jin Young, he did a great job in playing two roles. As the victim, he had the less screentime and he utilized it well, as for the brother role and revenge plot, it could have been more polished. All of it. i think his script was quite plain and boring; and the role could have been more substantial.
Surprisingly, a pass from me.
I do not think you are missing anything by skipping this one. If you wanna watch something with similar flavour, go for drama called Blind or the Children of Nobody. Both explore similar themes in more meaningful manner.
Thank you for reading.

Actor Park Jinyoung bright future
Watching Christmas Carol, it’s hard not to be impressed by how Park Jinyoung portrays twins with such distinct identities. His control over subtle details—like eye expression and emotional tone—makes each character feel real. The contrast never feels forced, which shows how deeply he understands the roles. It’s a standout performance. Was this review helpful to you?
