Mugita is scolded for her tardiness by Chief Ebisu. Even if he is harsh, Mugita empathises with his reasons. She realises that despite his nit-picky behaviour, he is in the same boat as her. They are both doing their best to be a professional salaryman. Meanwhile, Chief Ishizawa comes to her rescue, and Ebisu goes away. With some hindsight from Mugita on how lonely Ebisu is in the company, Ishizawa praises his competency and makes him understand how leniency is not a bad thing.
