Kaori is sued by the mothers of the children by the Board of Education for slapping Ken and his friends. The Board of Education tells Kaori to apologize to the children and their mothers, but Kaori has no intention of doing so. Principal Ishino supports Kaori, but Kaori worries that this will make Ishino's position worse.
Kaori decides to quit teaching after all. As Kaori looks around the classroom after class with a reluctant look on her face, Ken and the others come and apologize for the bullying. They have been blamed by the students, who said, "If Otsuki-sensei quits, it's your fault," and they have reflected on their actions. In the hallway, the students of class 5-3 surround Kaori, saying, "Teacher, don't quit!". Her eyes well up with tears. Kaori gives up on marrying Kitamura and decides to continue teaching.
Meanwhile, Daichi has decided to return to Shizuoka. Hana has not been able to express her feelings honestly until now, but after reading the note left by Daichi detailing his feelings for her, she runs to Daichi's house...
