Using dark magic, Consort Qin tries to make the Emperor her shadow puppet using her blood as the contract, but Prince Annan, Duan Ao Deng, comes to his aid and inadvertently turns into an unstable shadow puppet, without a blood contract. Meanwhile, Li Shuang, General Zhen Bei of the Changfeng army, launches a surprise attack on Yao state, but unbeknownst to her, it was a trap set up by Ao Deng. Their fate is tied when a bleeding Li Shuang unwittingly spills her blood on Ao Deng, who transforms into a young boy, whom she names Jin An. (Source: frankly at kisskh)

Nice start

It's a face-paced start. There were a few things I didn't understand, but overall it's a hugely fun watch.

just looking to see if it is my sort of drama

Just checking to see if this is the sort of drama i can watch. just finished LOFG and wanted to see what Chen Lei's character is like in this drama. I have to say this is so different from LOFG and interesting, i may give this drama a try. It is way outside my comfort zone.

Amazing story

So this episode was a great beginning of the show many things happened and it introduced the main characters well I like how the ml gain a strange power and how he could not handle it as result he became a child lost all his past memories and only remembered that he needs to protect the female lead

Alchemy of Souls vibe

The blood and dark magic elements were disturbing, confusing, and downright scary. I almost dropped the drama at this point, but Ryan Cheng was too intriguing. Song Yi’s mature, gentle yet authoritative demeanor as a general was also intriguing. Both leads really command the screen and hold your attention. The episodes and clarity about the plot got much better after this first one.

Eternal vows, blood rituals, and shirtless slow-mo…

It’s a rollercoaster of tropes: cheesy pink vow, villains doing blood rituals, ML’s exploding armor → shirtless slow-mo → drowning in blood → reborn with tattoos → falling off a cliff that appeared out of nowhere. 🤯FL is a “mighty general” with the voice of a 12-year-old pacifist, while the ML spends his time toggling between ripped monster man at night and cute amnesiac child by day.Nice cinematography, lots of muscles, zero logic. Rating: 4.5/10 — half a point per muscle group, because that’s about all that held the episode together.

Five Stars

OMG!! It started out with a BANG!! Both main leads are so badass! And Ryan Chen's action scenes are so awesome! Our FL's presence does not diminish in comparison~ She's proven herself to be the female general that she is. I'm already so excited from the first episode! (●♡∀♡)💓✨
