It was later revealed that Mu Mei hurt himself a lot more than he let on so everybody hoped the leech demon could heal him. What nobody knew is that the red eyed version can fight and handle the physical stuff well but it was the blue eyed version that was the master of healing. She realized she messed up putting blue eyes to sleep and realizes her only recourse to save Mei is swapping places. While she is in the process of this, Mei declares so candidly his love for her right as she disappears. Her sacrifice has resulted in the completion of the Gold Dawn relic and JiuHuo is trying one last move to free JiaLan.
