Princess Rou Jia invites Zhuo Hua to the Floral Poetry Gathering, held for the scholars passing the examination. Many of the male scholars question her placement and criticize her talents. Though Princess Rou Jia defends her by singling out Jing Hong, Prince Chen abruptly crashes the gathering, challenging them to write poetry which will be voted on by the scholars themselves.
