Pegasus Episode 10

There's something I don't understand since watching the last episode. Why doesn't Zhendong have access to financial help from his mother anymore? He was sent to study in London, not to work. It doesn't make sense for his mother to cut off his access to money. She doesn't know he's still in China and never went to the UK. The writer overlooked the fact that she watches every step her son makes. It also doesn't make sense for her not to know that Zhendong became a rookie driver.
