The Luminous Solution was the solution to an uneventful Friday
Despite its low rating of 6.3, poor subtitles, and all the honest reviews on here, I for one enjoyed this series. I thought it was well made, down to earth, and clever in subtle ways. Right away, the series title is incorporated as the main cast is introduced. Thana, Patis, and Mai’s scenes were ‘dark’ and/or ‘light’ representing “Luminous” and Ryou’s was ‘Solution’ as he’s working on his school project.I enjoyed the characters A LOT, flawed as they were. I love the bantering and different personalities of the main and side characters. I liked the uniqueness of the plot twist though I have to brag that I had a clue that was the case since episodes 2-3. Solely because the older and younger casts' timelines moved at different paces. I think it was episode two or three where Mai and Ryou had a time-lapse of a few days whereas it was the same day for Thana and Patis. As the series progressed, I saw more and more similarities between the older and younger characters (for example Thana and Mai having a habit of biting. Thana and Mai hate being alone and are afraid of loneliness. Thana and Mai smoke. Patis and Ryou are clear about who they like and want to stay friends with Naphat/Nack. Patis and Ryou are 'perfect' in the eyes of others, they're smart and hardworking. Patis considers Thana as his only family while Ryou has a distant uncle and auntie. Mai has a closer relationship with his parents, Thana does too except his dad has passed. The wooden stickhouse and wooden figures), then I started questioning why the older and younger characters hadn't had any direct interactions yet. That's when it hit me that they were most likely the older and younger versions of each other. I guess figuring that out earlier on made the whole series less confusing, messy, and more enjoyable.
Except for Bhu Bhudis, the whole cast is new to me so that was nice. Means I get to know more actors/actresses! I see that this is Mig Teerapat Prongaroon's acting debut? I have to say that this man has the talent and potential to make it big if he stays in the industry and away from scandals.
Gun Napat and Bell Ratchata are straight-up adorable! Gun just makes me happy whenever he smiles. I love his interactions with just about everyone, especially with the nurse, Dr. Praem, and the older lady patient he saw twice. I do have to say that he does need to work on being less twitchy when it comes to serious/intense scenes but otherwise, I was in love with his character from beginning to end (and honestly, I would have thought Mig is the more experienced actor as he had more range but Gun’s acting isn’t terrible, at least not for his character).
I like Mig and Gun as a couple, they're cute as heck! The only thing that didn't seem right was the lack of natural physical contact. It might have been the director's choice or lax writing but a lot of it feels like what you'd witness in an acting class and not in real life. When they hugged or comforted each other, it felt like they did it because it said so in the script. And when you expect physical contact between two characters who have been madly in love for 10 years, you get nothing. (i.e. Patis coming home and crashing on the bed after a long day and night at work. Seeing Thana tuck Patis in would have been nice. Or the part where Patis bawled his eyes out and instead of staying and crying, hugging it out together Thana left to cry outside.) So lots of missed opportunities to showcase what I would think was a long-term healthy relationship.
I thought Bell did great. Dena, Safe, Tontae, and Bank were also all great.
Kanda and Pie being mother and son wasn’t that surprising either. I mean if she’s the younger woman we saw in the beginning then clearly Pie was either her boyfriend’s ghost played by Dome Woranart or her son who looks exactly like her ex-boyfriend also played by Dome Woranart.
Once again, the cast and characters were a plus for me. However, I must admit that Thana and Mai got super ugly. Hated the attempted rapes and Thana, for some reason, is always doing things he’ll be sorry for. Guy never learned.
Other than the lack of consent in some parts, my biggest issues with the show had to do with the director and editors’ choices. For one, they never made Time’s age clear though I’m assuming he’s 18/19 given that he drives a motorcycle and well, that fire exit scene. The show used terms like ‘student’, ‘homeschooled’, and ‘self-educated’ to hint at his age but we never got a solid number.
Secondly, there were A LOT of ‘romantic’ scenes that were played back to back to back to back and at one point it got annoying; I didn’t need to see Mai pulling Ryou towards him four different times from four different angles, thank you very much. Also, a lot of the close-ups on the faces were mostly awkward, especially when facial expressions weren’t key.
Thirdly, they play the same ‘mysterious’ song every time Kanda is on screen, and my goodness, please stop. Kanda’s repetitive theme song is not hitting when it’s being overly used and adds nothing to the scenes!
A lot of these episodes are about 1 hour and 15-20 minutes and seriously they would have been sweeter if they just cut back on the repeating and slower parts. The series having only 6 episodes was a good choice. I don’t mind open-endings but I don’t like that there’s a bigger chance Thana and Patis will get back together within a month :/ The idea of a secret cafe was interesting but its execution was mediocre at best so personally the show would have been better off without it, and as a slice-of-life-only series instead.

A Soft, Comfort Watch with Flaws
I watched Luminous Solution as a palate cleanser after a run of darker, heavier dramas, and honestly, I had completely forgotten most of the story going in. That said, it turned out to be much better than people often make it seem.This drama is entertaining without being overly angsty or emotionally exhausting. It keeps things relatively light while still touching on the complexities and realities of real-life relationships. The storylines between all the leads were genuinely interesting and explored different kinds of emotional struggles and personal hardships in a way that felt grounded and relatable.
One of the more enjoyable elements was the wish-granting aspect, which added a fun, slightly whimsical layer to the story and helped keep the tone balanced. It gave the drama a sense of charm and kept things from feeling too heavy, even when the characters were dealing with serious issues.
My main issue was that the plot could be slightly confusing at times, which I think comes down to the writing rather than the concept itself. The premise was solid and had real potential, but clearer storytelling and stronger structure would have elevated the drama significantly.
By no means is Luminous Solution a perfect BL, but it’s far from bad. It’s an easy, watchable series that works well as a comfort drama or a break between more intense shows. If you go in with modest expectations, there’s still plenty to enjoy.

THE TITLE IS CONFUSES THE STORYLINE : THERE IS NO SOLUTION AT ALL!!!
First of all I only watched this series because of Bhu which by the way is one of the most underrated Thai actors in BL series.Secondly, what is wrong with all this producers and directors!!?? You keep on making new BL series just because its a hype or a trend without even thinking about the story or chemistry between actors!!?? BAD SERIES EQUALS BAD REPUTATION FOR THIS ACTORS I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT!!!!
You make this bunch of nonsense, useless and baseless series without putting any thought in it just for the sake of money?? SHAME!!!
6 episodes.....6 episodes OF WHAT?????? confusion!!! annoyance !!! god!!!

the problems of bad wishes
At first, like most people, I thought that the finale ruined everything. But then I wondered if it wasn't even intentional that they didn't want to show a happy ending at all.If you look at the wishes, the only wish that is not at the expense of others is actually Thana's wish for a new job, at most if you assume that the one who otherwise got the job will now go away empty-handed.
All other wishes always involve third parties. So Nack wants a kiss, which means Reow is manipulated for this purpose. Overall, however, perhaps still harmless.
Worse is Reow's wish. He binds Mai and later Thana to him for life. With the consequence that he cannot end the relationship and in desperation then has to commit himself to the café, where he then continues the relationship with Patis or should one say has to continue-
Then Dena's desire to rob others of their memories of their lives so far, just to forget their own pain, is simply cruel. In fact, all 4 prisoners of the wish of Dena and Mai/Thana are also prisoners of the wish before Reow. But Dena and Nack don't have a happy ending either, the late kiss is now nothing important in life, in fact both are stuck in their love for Reow/Patis even in their alter ego and can't find a new partner and thus no happiness.
The only happy ending here is the mother and the son, even if he might have liked to stay with the mother, she has made a life and a future possible for him with her wish and has not bound him to anything with her second wish. They see each other again and the rest is their own decision.
This is exactly where the desires that differ from Dena and Reow in particular bind their friends and force them into a life that is and remains externally controlled by the desires.
Something like that can't have a happy ending and if they wanted to portray it that way, they actually did it well.

What a mess
This was a big mess, the story had so much potentional but it was executed so bad. A lot of scenes were cut off and the whole storyline was messy.The acting was mediocore, i saw that most of the actors didn't have many more drama's and i understand why.
The visuals and te music were good.
In some important scenes where blurry colored flashes and that was just weird.

Interesting premise but poor writing
I was looking foward to this series because of supernatural element but it fell short of my expectations. Main reason being poor writing. Side plot of the cafe lady felt unnecessary. Our main CP arent likeable (i can understand that they have been together for soo long , so their relationship is bond to have troubles) but i don't hold that against the series. It redeems itself through the side CP (Ryou n Mai),they are soo goddamn CUTE!!!!!. I assure you that the series is worth watching just for them .They are my favourite part of this series. Also I actually liked the plot twist but it was really poorly done. Only if it had been written well ,it would have been brilliant. Another thing i dont like about this series is that they didn't dwell much in the supernatural aspect which made it kinda confusing to say the least.Was this review helpful to you?

It wasn't horrible but I didn't like the ending.
I'm not really confused on anything except for wondering (I could've missed it but Idont think I did) what Nack wished for, because I expected it to be about Reaow loving him but his feelings didn't change at all.I know the ending was sorta a happy ending with the couple ending up together in the end and the lady getting to see her son again but I didn't really like the ending. I wish they could've worked stuff out instead of him wishing but it is what it is. I'm not really sure what else to say about it. I guess I also wish that Mai would've actually have gotten with reaow honestly instead of the wish as well but yeah.

Underestimated
I'd agree with a lot of others commenting the show being somewhat confusing, and some acting that could be improved.After watching through a second time it was definitely easier to pick up on some things that would have been overlooked, sometimes making some questions there aren't answers for... but overall still pretty enjoyable.
I think this is a overall pretty heavy BL in the grand scheme of shows to date, and I think they did a good job telling the story they wanted to. Lots of emotion they did a good job of portraying, some they could have done better. Overall was pretty impressed they story line seemed to stay consistent within all that was going on.
Overall would highly recommend to any other avid BL watcher.

разочарование
Хм, сюжет не обычный, но запутали очень сильно, отсюда потерянный смысл, так как пытаешься понять что, куда, зачем и почему. Очень понравилась игра Бэнка. Я не узнала его. Да и играл превосходно. Сценаристы, конечно умные ребята и долго делали "две" пары, которые в конце концов оказывается одна. Нет, не квартет, а прошлое и настоящее. Понравилась операторская работа. Освещение, съемка в разных местах, с разным светом - шикарно. Музыка и музыкальное сопровождение были в тему и к месту. Особого ожидания от Таиланда в последнее время я не испытываю, что здесь в очередной раз мне и показали. Поэтому не расстроена от слова совсем. Хотя нет, есть огромное расстройство игрой Гана. Нет, ну правда. Я думаю, да даже уверена, что в жизни он очень обаятельный и милый парень. В первых ролях - очарователен, эмоционален, но вот начиная с "Золотая кровь" и вот сейчас , такое впечатление что забивал на все уроки актерского мастерства и прогуливал, но тогда какого его брать на главную роль? Не видели или что? Вопрос к тем кто проводил кастинг - прошлое и настоящее, ничего что дети до безумия разные с взрослыми? Ну да, мы все растем и меняемся внешне, но не до такой степени разницы. Очень порадовал Миг. И первая главная роль - с дебютом, было здорово наблюдать хорошую игру. Дом Воранат - я скучала. Не играл - жил. Спасибо. Бэнк и Тонтэ - отлично. Очень достойно.Сериал на раз. Для меня плюс - это игра актеров которых выделила. Слава богу 6 эпизодов, а не затянуть эпизодов на 12 и больше. Тай штампует не думая, какой рейтинг будет. А жаль, раньше хотя бы был смысл.
