The cliffhangers will keep you pressing play on the next episode button!

Pretty gripping and entertaining gameshow : it was intense and different, with a lot of twists. Not all the games were as interesting and the level of difficulty truly varied. Collaboration was a key element: forming and breaking alliance was the most important skill to foster. I liked how the production made the participants live together : it was just one week but it clearly helped them in creating relationships and therefore some interesting moments for a few of the departures.

I felt sometimes frustrated to see bright candidates leave early while people with seemingly less capacity in developing strategy and finding solution were kept and protected, while mooching on the strongest players. At the same time, while frustrating and seeming unfair, it is definitely a very important soft skill to be able to have enough social intelligence to be part of a group and win thanks to the team rather than solely on your own strengths.

The cast was varied enough, I did not know most of them but I quickly got some favorites and I am very happy with the winner who had a great storyline. The set were pretty good with the game area and living area, and I think the production team managed to make the game quite understandable thanks to clear visuals.

I would recommend this if you enjoy game show involving strategical alliances. If you enjoyed shows such as Elite League, it might be right in your alley. The second season has just started and I will for sure watch it as well, hoping for stronger participants and less moochers (even if very sympathetic).

Competition at it's finest

Watching this show made me realize "damn.. how are they so darn smart". The winner was very well-deserving of it! all of the cast were so good and I could tell they formed a bond and made this as something to learn from! They chose the right cast cause at first there was some things that makes you dislike them but it ends up being reasonable and makes you just love them. They did well trying everything to not get eliminated.

I watched this for seungkwan lol but the whole cast did so well and throughout the series, it's like I lived with them and experienced what they were experiencing so I was bound to love all the cast.

--SPOILERS--

Only things I don't like about the show:
1. The Alliances - We know there was a minority and majority-kind of alliance.
What I don't like about the minority alliance- I think it started on the first game, with the 3-people alliance that the others had no idea about, I JUST WISHED they didn't form an alliance that soon cause it turns everything about alliance after and made the others have some trust issues so soon. I was surprised when they were shocked that everyone went against them since they formed a small group within a lot of people since no one's eliminated yet and won. They also continued working together on the second game, so other's thought that their group is definitely a strong-kind formed of alliance. It was so obvious they won't be trusted that third round so I was so surprised that they actually planned to not help each other and played apart respectfully which was even for me so unexpected. it was sad and I felt guilty when they went and teamed up on one person to eliminate but this minority alliance outright made themselves a target and made the trust issues. Until the end, I kinda feel bitter since they started it but is like "this game is boring cause they copied us and turned it against us".
What I don't like about the majority alliance- It was a nice idea to help each other survive but that ended up just being something that's outright stupid cause they ended up sacrificing a lot to save someone which worked but for a competitive series, it did not sit right with me cause it was inevitable for the minority alliance to worry about their members getting eliminated cause they outright keep pushing them to be the last to push themselves forward which was a very selfish thing to do. I think after the second game, even in the end the alliance and mission was still alive that they made the minority group feel like an outcast, they were literally away from them from that point on except on the teamwork games! This group ended up being one with the leader who leads the others, and that's bad cause if you're competing it's only right to play for yourself, the members of this didn't get to show their ability much cause of trying to save others from elimination which was quite unfair.
2. The Games - If I'm being honest. I've never felt so stressed and tired from watching a series but this surely did, I can't imagine how the cast survived. Did they let them have a break? After one game (which were so darn hard) another comes which was so crazy and draining which I think made some of them to not be able to do well and get eliminated. It's also crazy how they make the first game be betrayal while the second is teamwork but I'm glad the cast were mature and still worked together despite literally betraying each other not that long ago cause I wouldn't if that was me lol

The Devil's Plan is a near perfect show and done spectacularly. This show being in the reality genre has no choice but to leave things up to the cast as well as the situations the casts are placed under, but still with all the possibility's, this show is set up great and has twists and turns all throughout.

I wanna talk firstly about the atmospheric set up and locations which were so fun to view. The sleep area as well as the conversational area between games really sets the tone for the show and gives us a type of nostalgic feel as when we were kids and all slept in the same house. It targets your childlike minds and it is extremely fun to watch. The area definitely took time to construct as well as costs a lot to house but it was definitely worth it as the cast spent a good amount of the time on screen in this room.

The plot was so refreshing and such a newly put idea to the screen and the cast just made it that much more intriguing. A few characters were useless and did not add much to the games and if I were in the show I would target those individuals to be eliminated first but due to show politics, some characters has differing ideals in terms of letting the weak herd survive when it held no benefit to the show. As enjoyable as the show was, it would have hit much harder had the 5-6 strongest characters ( Seok-Jin, Orbit, See-Won, Dong-Jae, Guillamme, Dong-Joo ) been at the end of the series battling it out via pure intellect and cunning. A season 2 could excerpt this criticism hopefully and we could see an even smarter show than this already is.

The games were unlike anything I have seen on tv prior and since viewing this show. You have to have a high IQ to even understand some of the games considering how complex they truly are, which is why this show has incredible rewatch ability. I did not get bored even watching this show one time which truly says to how great of a show this is. There is always an engaging aspect that makes you want to continue watching and not want to put this show down. A sad aspect of this show is seeing some of the characters being underutilized due to either their own doing or just plain unlucky. Dong-Jae, Dong-Joo, Guillamme, all had much more to offer season 1 than what they actually did which is a flaw but all in all this show was fantastic. The winner was well deserved and the best player all season irregardless of each individual episode.

I did not agree with Orbit's strategy in the sense that the weak herd should not be a tag along group, and instead in a show like this, everyone should have to pay their dues every game to survive. Skill based eliminations are the key to shows like this, but for some reason it always becomes political. The finals was incredible and the games again were extremely fun to watch as well see play out.

I would describe this series as a Physical 100 but purely mental, which to some including myself is even more intriguing. If you are a fan of mind games as well as a complex mental model then this show is surely for you.

My Brain Hurts but I Loved It

As a huge fan of Korean reality game shows (Running Man, Busted—yes please), The Devil’s Plan was a wild shift from laughter to pure mental torture. The set? Phenomenal. The living quarters, the game room, the prison, the secret room—chef’s kiss. But the games? Mentally painful. I never understood the rules during the explanation—only once someone lost or cried. And yes, people cried. That’s what made me curious to begin with, and I totally get it now.

What really hooked me was the cast dynamics. Ha SeokJin = silent but deadly. Orbit? The resilient zombie-genius you can't kill. He got dragged, but I admired his heart and strategy (controversial and annoying for some). The whole “strong vs weak” alliance drama was peak social psychology—this show tested not just IQ but EQ, pushing everyone to their edge. I genuinely felt like my brain had to reboot between episodes, but it was so worth it. If you're into logic games, betrayal, survival, and social chaos, this is your next obsession. Just make sure your brain is well-rested—mine almost melted.

The smartes of the smartest

This was the first time I watched a show like this. Yes, I did watch a lot of game shows but this was not just a game show. It was a show of the geniuses! Most of the time I didn’t understand the rules of the games until they started playing it . And even then sometimes I didn’t get it. To he honest some games were too boring and too long (math poker) but most games were quite interesting. I especially liked the group games where they had to win to accumulate money.
Although there were alliances, I liked that some games required you to either play alone or play with a different group in order to secure your survival.
The twist with the hidden stage was fun too 😂😂😂 Seok Jin was just amazing! I was rooting for him and the lawyer woman who memorized all the hospital objects 🤯🤯🤯 My mind was literally blown!!!!

All in all, apart from some boring games and questionable contestants, it was quite an interesting watch

my opinion

The intelligence, the dynamics are completely admirable, but I think the rules of the game itself should have been explained more. Despite what was said, I, as a viewer, understood absolutely nothing.
I'm definitely looking forward to watching the one in 2024, the casting of the participants is incredible, I loved the fact that there were lies, plot twists and much more. One of the best and funniest tests was rotating to fit the cube, sooo funny! I laughed sooooo much!

Aku pas nonton udah HAH GIMANA RULESNYA ITU tapi mereka kaya langsung pecahin soal-soalnya cepet banget.

Favoritku di Fragmen Memori. Permainan ini bisa berguna banget di hidup sehari-hari. Nonton ini jadi sadar diri kalau kayanya ngga pernah kuasah lah otakku ini.

Nothing is more attractive than an intelligent man with humble personality, Ha Seok Jin.
