Give It A Chance

I gave this show a chance because of Ohm and Perth. I found it scrolling on YouTube one day and decided to try it.
I am SO glad that I did.
Here's the thing, the story is not perfect. I'm not here to tell you that this show is an absolute masterpiece. However, this show captivated me for some inexplicable reason. So much so, that I watched it twice through without a break in between.

Acting: 10/10
Ohm and Perth play off of each other extremely well. So well, that everything else falls to the wayside in this drama. No matter what, the story was driven by the amazing acting that we got out of those two.
Ohm's ability to have chemistry with everyone is amazing. I was blown away by these two.
Perth grew up so much and it was so nice to see him actively enjoying his role (even though he was slightly crazed for part of it lol)
Seriously, I thought I was a fan of theirs before this, but this drama made them enter my top 10 GMMTV actors (possibly even top 10 Thai actors in general).

Storyline: 8.5/10
Like I said, the show isn't perfect. I would have loved to see the abuse that Korn suffers at his father's hands looked at a bit more carefully. He was abused (physically, emotionally, and mentally) for his entire childhood. He was constantly degraded, humiliated, and beaten - even in front of his peers and community. Personally, I would have loved to see a bit more focus on the effects of that on his mental health.
In addition to that, there were some pretty loose plot points. Overall, the story is interesting and pretty easy to follow. There have been much worse, but there have also been masterpieces. I give the storyline itself a 8.5/10

If you take anything from this review, take this away: give it a chance. At worst, it's a bit of a waste of time. At best, you get a new, amazing drama to enjoy.

Circumstance Determines Fate

"Good people aren't always good, and bad people aren't always bad" seemed to be a very central theme to this show. While I appreciated the nuance it tried to have, I found that the drawn out timeline and poor character development took away from it. As the show went on, I liked it more and more, but I found the beginning to be overly drawn out, and eventually felt like I didn't really have anyone I was truly rooting for. I liked this idea of two brothers who, when treated totally differently by their father, end up on opposite paths - one a cop, and one a criminal. However, I felt that the execution left some things to be desired.

Win (Perth) and Korn (Ohm) are brothers. Korn was born during a hard time for the family, and his father thought him a jinx that could only bring bad luck; Win, on the other hand, became a golden child destined to bring good fortune. Their father constantly abused Korn while praising Win, though the two brothers managed to have a good relationship with each other. However, as time goes on, Korn ends up involved with a drug smuggling gang, and Win follows Korn's original dream of becoming a cop, putting the two brothers on opposite sides of an investigation.

I thought Perth and Ohm did a good job in this show, but I just felt that the writers could have done so much more. I wish we got even more on Film's character Rung, who was important to the brothers' relationship, because I feel like her arc was super important but lacking details to make it stand out. I know that the entire premise revolved around this idea that no one is truly the "good guy," but I honestly wasn't really rooting for either brother. I felt that this took away from a lot of scenes where the two of them have these kind of stand-offs with each other - I wanted to feel so much more for them than I did! That being said, I still enjoyed watching this show, but mostly because I liked the cast.

just yapping

ep 11 was a rollercoaster and ep 12 killed me. i have a love-hate relationship with the ending i mean..i liked how they all could forgive and move on but girl he killed your man and the father of your child. i would never forgive that. i felt bad for him though when he wanted to pick up his nephew but he was already in college so he couldn't do it. he couldn't see him grow and now it was too late.
i loved it but some things were kinda off or didn't get deeper like they should've been. like li's son living without his father who got killed by his uncle🤡 imagine explaining that to your son. and the uncle being ahlan's fatherrr like whaaat did u just stab me?? they were so dear to me i hated their ending but it was kind of realistic. i mean getting out of that type of life couldn't be that easy.
and rung's trauma being forgotten at the end when she was eating with the man who killed her parents like what do u mean? i loved them at first and wanted them to end up tgt but he was a coward and a liar. they had more chem than with korn tho but thats not the point. i wish perth and film will get casted together again bc the chemm killed me.
good watch and a lot of emotions in just one chapter. they ate with this drama and i wished they did more of this kind BUT WITH A DIFF ENDING please.

Action & drama

This show may not be for everything but the action scenes are well executed and the talented cast carries the story well. Perth and Ohm shine as brothers on opposing sides building great tension when needed. Both are amazing at storytelling with their eyes and face drawing you into the characters inner turmoil. Overall worth watching at least once.

I can't stand it when 20-year-olds act like they're 8

Honestly, I can't stand it when 20-year-olds act like they're 8. It doesn't come across as cute or genuine or even childish, it just seems oligoprenic. This especially applies to Ohm, maybe because of his height. I really like Perth, but not in this and not like this. It's a really well-made series. The acting, music, and everything else are top-notch. Just this one thing... I hope it will become better in next episodes, but I'm sorry I can't stand it, I droped.

Why I Regret Watching Double Savage

My initial expectations for this show were unfortunately met with disappointment, leading me to approach it with caution due to a wave of negative reviews. The story is predictable, revolving around brothers torn apart by a girl who ultimately proves unworthy. Rung's character, initially portrayed with wholesomeness in the initial episodes, takes an abrupt and poorly executed dark turn. Credit is due to the actress portraying Rung, whose compelling performance successfully made me hate the character—a noteworthy feat.

While the brothers' acting is serviceable, it failed to engage me, potentially due to my unfamiliarity with their previous work or a lack of resonance with their style. Korn's character, burdened by undeserved hardships from an abusive father, evokes the most sympathy from me. Conversely, I struggle to find merit in his brother Win.

The show proved to be unbearable for me, prompting my decision to discontinue it after the fourth episode due to the subpar quality of the poorly constructed plot. It almost seemed as if the writer harbored a strong aversion to Rung's character.

For those seeking a healthy portrayal of relationships, I strongly advise against diving into this show. It delves into toxic dynamics that are difficult to endure, and the resulting irritation can escalate significantly.
