A story about a young woman who dreamt of becoming a diva.
The idea of the story itself is very unique in my opinion. Though there are some illogical point (regarding her survival in the deserted island), but the whole visual is super great. And the story is not merely highlighting the romance between the main leads couple. But it showed us friendship, hope, resilience, and persistence. The actors and actresses really did a great job in portraying their character. Park Eun Bin with her quirk, Chae Jong Hyeop with his talking eyes, Cha Hak Yeon with his wit, and Kim Hyo Jin with her clumsiness. I really enjoyed their acting here. So did the supporter character. Everyone was equally doing their best to portray their character.
Though the focus of the series itself is not romance, but I can feel a great chemistry between the ML and FL. They portrayed pure love. And it feels so sweet and sincere.

Came for the Pop Vibes, Stayed for the Emotional Destruction
📝 Review (WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Emotional Damage)Okay, so when I started watching, I thought: “Oh, cute poppy vibes, easy watch, maybe a little drama, that’s fine.”
And… nope. Totally different from the OST. Way more emotional than I bargained for. Park Eun Bin’s voice? Incredible. The younger version of Mok Ha? Also incredible. And yes, I may have paused just to appreciate them both like three times.
Twists and turns? Totally there. Confusing? Not even a little. You can follow along without feeling like you’re doing a math exam while crying.
Lee Seung Joon as Jung Bong Wan… okay, this man just does it. Now I can’t watch him in anything else without mentally yelling at him for not being Jung Bong Wan. I’m serious, it’s weird but I can’t unsee it.
The best part? Literally everyone fits. Main actors, supporting actors, the chemistry… it all clicks. I was genuinely impressed. And this is the kind of show I will happily rewatch. I already have a growing rewatch list that’s dangerously long, and this just got added to the top.
Honestly, this show hits all the sweet spots. Heart, humor, a little chaos, and just enough swoon to make me a little dizzy.
💭 Final Mood:
Fell in love, cried twice, laughed too much, questioned my life choices, and now I want to sing on a deserted island. 10/10 would rewatch at 2 a.m.

Haunting love story
This is not an easy watch due to its abuse storyline but the younger versions of the ML/FL were just amazing in their depiction of struggling with a life of abuse. The adults representation and their continued love story was haunting and captivating. The story of the two brothers gave twists and turns to add to the plot. Great script, production and sensitivity in the performances Terrific acting all round and that includes the performance by the actor portraying the evil father. Thoroughly recommended. Was this review helpful to you?

Beautiful and heartwarming
I am swaying to the music of the drama in my mind as I write this review. It left that good of an impression. I'm not sure why I put watching this off for as long as I had, but I sure should have watched it long before.Whenever someone says stranded on an Island, my mind goes to Oliver Queen. So, as i watching the first episode, I was wondering what she would have to deal with on that island.
The acting was good, the characters pretty decent, the story nice, and pacing was perfect. I wanted to see more of Mok Ha's life into the stardom, but it ended too soon.
They covered the intricacies of abuse so well. Looking at little Ki Ho or Mok Ha, no one could have thought that they were being abused by their parents and this is why so many of those heinous wild beasts that call themselves parents get away with it. The prosecutor's words were gold: "We have one parent lying to protect their kid, and we have another parent lying to punish their kid. Who do you think is the better parent?"
I'll miss the characters.

halfdrama review
-ngl I was not very much excited or hyped when this drama was announced but then I found out that chae jongheop is in it so obviously I had to watch it.-1st episode was the premise of the drama and they did very well w the cast of young version of the character and got me straight into the plot of the drama.
-there are some unrealistic elements of this drama like how mokha stayed alive for legit 15yrs (not that its impossible) in addition she still has flawless skin and body but i don't mind any of it tbh just pointing out.
-not to forget, this dramas one of the main theme is abusive father and domestic abuse and let me tell you the father is scary as hell I really hope by the end of the show the biological father gets his deserved punishment.
-now lets talk about mokha and kiho (guess which one of the brother is kino lol) the only non spoiler thing I can say about them is I LOVE THEM
-I also love how both the brothers are such green flags

just doesn't work for me
the tearjerking story of the two kids in the first episode strangely didn't touch me at all. It's really strage, as the story itself of violent parents is definitely something normally getting to me, but here - nothing. I also didn't find the two actors very convincing, and it just seemed... 'invented' and also exaggerated, especially when they are on that ship to flee, and that very young boy gets beaten almost to death by the girl's psycho dad. I didn't understand, why he didn't just tell the girl on the ship when he saw her father outside at the port, they both could easily have hidden in the ships toilet until it had taken off, and nothing bad would have happened? Next thing, the boy super tragically leaves the girl without warning her, and then he is the one going straight towards her dad at the port and bringing his attention to them both, thus confirming with his behaviour the girl is on the ship? Then we see how is is badly beaten, holding the aggro-dad off from going onto the ship... we see how the ship with the still clueless girl is finally leaving the port - and then all of a sudden, the dad is on the ship? How?? How did he even get on, without a ticket, and when the ship had actually already taken off? Didn't make any sense to me and it all seemed to be a forced story to make it extra extra tragic.
The dad can then even chase his daughter like a serial killer all around that huge ship without anyone hindering him? No personell there? No security? After he almost killed a boy for all to see at the port, leaving him there presumably dead?
The girl jumps into the water to escape the dad - cut - she is alone on a remote island.
There she has some interesting items, tea pots and whatnot, no one knows wherefrom she has all these things as she actually dropped the huge bagpack that was filled with all the good stuff on the ship, when she ran from her father.
Another cut, and it's 15 years later, so we jumped from around 2008 to 2023. Interestingly enough our now 15 years older island girl has a great haircut with nice longer wavy bangs - one wonders how she managed that all alone? Even more, she still has that same set of clothing, the only clothing she had actually for 15 (fifteen!!) years, and these clothes are perfectly fine, not torn, or ripped, colours not washed out =D
So, after these 15 long years, finally, and no one knows why it didn't happen all the years before, some dorkies with their drones are suddenly there, and our island girl is supposed to see the first human after those many years alone. They take her back into civilisation and .... I re-checked like how long was she supposed to be gone? And since when, which year? So, she was lost there since 2008. A rather modern time I'd say? Yet, when she is back in the city, she suddenly acts like a person from rather 1800, not 2008, trying to use a water tap in the bathroom, not knowing how to actually use it and then spreading water all around the bathroom like an idiot? Did she not know water taps back in 2008? they make her seem like she grew up in the jungle since she was a toddler, why?
And I could go on with these things...I really like Park Eun-bin, she had some great dramas in the past and she is good actress, but here, the story is so lacking basic sense, even she can't save it for me.
I am really annoyed meanwhile that many promising new dramas do not pay attention to anything concering logic and intelligence. Things don't have to be perfect but the mistakes just can't be that obvious and jumping at me like that, at least I get so annoyed and distracted I don't want to go on watching at all.

The ML is MLing and the 2ML is 2MLing
The start of the story is where it's soul is created. Mok ha and kiho 's childhood hardship and the way they stood by each other is the best part of the drama. The child actors really killed it in this one .The stuck in island part was kind of a filler ,with having not much impact on the story.
The part which I had an issue with was ,even though the supporting characters were great ,they had way too much screentime for their stories ,while I would rather have had much more of our leads. They had electrifying chemistry and their relationship was so heartwarming. I wish we had more of them and their growth, rather than all the backstory of Ran joo.
This was a really good drama ,and probably the first one in a while where I liked the lead pair so much. But still towards the end it felt like wasted potential.
Even the final was weak ,and ep 11 was much more like a final in that aspect.
Watch it for the absolute green flag the ML is !!!

As per the 2 episodes released something's shown in the drama are real depiction of society some parents think beating their children is for teaching them discipline but they don't understand the mental impact children must be facing.

A Beautiful & Emotional Journey
What will you do if you are left stranded on a deserted island for 15 years?tvN’s latest musical sojourn “Castaway Idol” attempts to answer this question in a lighthearted yet emotional manner. Starring Park Eun Bin, Kim Hyo Jin, Chae Jong Hyeop, Cha Hak Yeon, Kim Joo Heon in pivotal roles, the drama chronicles main lead Seo Mok Ha’s (Park Eun Bin) journey to normal life as she returns to the mainland, after being stranded on a deserted island for 15 years. The precociousness of the storyline, coupled with some excellent performances from the leading cast, lends a beautiful vibe to this somber melodrama. I have been religiously following the social media updates by tvN since the drama was announced. The initial posters and the trailers created enough buzz to keep this ship floating. The first two episodes are high on emotions, as we are introduced to the two main characters in this drama- Seo Mok Ha & her classmate, Jung Ki Ho. Now, you won’t find any information about Ki Ho, simply because the character’s current whereabouts are still under wraps. The drama heavily leans on the emotional trauma faced by these two characters as they fight for survival. Now, let’s get to know more about them before we dive headfirst into the storyline!
