Painting by numbers
Korea seem to have two formula's for a BL drama, there is the silly fluff story or the angst ridden melodrama. This one follows the melodrama formula, everything is exaggerated until nothing really makes any sense. If you have watched a few Korean BL's before then you know the formula,
Episodes 1-4 convoluted beginning and storyline
Episode 5-6 they find love
Episode 7 the angst ridden episode with problem/break up
Episode 8 they remember how to communicate and it all ends happy.
At first I was happy with Korean BL, they added more depth to their stories, but now it's just the same old formula over and over again.
The other problem I have with them is they are rather depressing, a drama needs some up's and down's but there are more down's than up's

Our Dating Sim: a must watched Korean BL
A story of a first love will always exist.Time will passed by but Destiny will brought you back together. As they started as best friends in their high school life and develop mutual understand later on. Until confession of feelings come to happened but its not easy to figure out based on reactions thinking on possible rejection its better to runaway even haven't heard the reply to someone you had been confessed.
Everyone of us has a crush isn't?
It's simply an admiration of someone you really like but confessing it will take a courage coz there's only two possible answer: they accept it or they reject it.

A Mood Lightener
The drama is fun and fluffy, a very surface level kind of intimacy. Most of the drama focuses on the couple and barely anything on themselves individually, making it hard (personally) to connect with any of the characters. Though there is a bit of conflict, the story doesn't go into it and doesn't put much thought into it. I believe a good drama or relationship should have some conflict to allow the viewer to easily get into the story and immerse themselves.Pros:
- Couple chemistry
- quick episodes
- calming/ light atmosphere
Cons:
- very little story development (not much conflict to move the story on)
- Little view of the characters' lives
- not long enough to connect with the characters
My thoughts:
I would recommend this drama to those in the mood for no angst and a short series that requires very little thinking to watch. It contains many fluffy moments that many viewers , good for lightening up one's mood. Though it is supposed to be a rom-com, there's not much comedy, but the overall atmosphere the drama creates is very calming.
A nice concept for a kbl, though not new, it is well made. Compared to another kbl ,Semantic Error ,which has a similar concept, the immersion is just not as strong. But the showcase of the couple is definitely better in this drama. More fluffy moments together.
The drama is very short and doesn't take much of your time, if you are looking for a short and easy drama, this is definitely for you. However, it might be because of this short episodes that the story is not fully developed.
As said before, it is, personally, very hard to connect with any of the characters in the story without good conflict or showcase of their personalities.
It is a bit overrated as the "best Korean bl in 2023" but it is up there so far (personally believe that Eighth Sense is better) due to little development in the story and nothing that is special or out-of-this-world. Overall, fun, fluffy, and cute, but too simple.

Great sim of mutual chemistry
Our dating sim is officially the best BL k-drama I've ever seen. The short story, which can be watched as one longer film, brought a subject that I personally have not yet encountered. High school graduation didn't go as planned, but Shin Ki Tae and Lee Wan met again after seven years and explained everything to each other after a long time. I am not a fan of mobile games of this type, that's why I was a little hesitant to start this at all, but luckily I quickly realized that it's not a game, but a series. The chemistry between the actors is amazing and the supporting characters also prove themselves. The always tired Sunny was definitely the best of the group of colleagues we could meet. Was this review helpful to you?

THIS WAS SO GOOD
"Our Dating Sim" is a delightful and engaging series that follows the story of two best friends, Jae and Chris, as they navigate the ups and downs of online dating. The show is expertly crafted, with witty dialogue and relatable situations that will have you laughing and cringing in equal measure.
But what truly sets "Our Dating Sim" apart is its cast of characters. Jae and Chris are perfectly imperfect protagonists, with their own unique personalities and quirks that make them feel like friends you've known for years. Supporting characters like Sarah and Ryan add depth and complexity to the story, and the show's portrayal of diverse relationships and identities is both authentic and refreshing.
One of the standout aspects of "Our Dating Sim" is its thoughtful exploration of mental health. The show tackles topics like anxiety and depression with sensitivity and nuance, and provides a realistic and hopeful portrayal of what it means to struggle and seek help.
Overall, "Our Dating Sim" is a must-watch for anyone looking for a heartwarming and hilarious series that will resonate with them long after the credits roll. With its lovable characters, sharp writing, and relatable themes, it's a show that will leave you feeling seen, heard, and eager for more.

The Best Short Length BL of 2023
This series pulled me in immediately. The chemistry of the main leads was dynamic. The Lee's have easily reach the status of the Parks (SEMANTIC ERROR)The Kiss scenes were amazing in comparison to most KBL series.
And both main leads were absolutely Gorgeous.
I've watched this series more times than I can say.
Even the side characters were amazing...I loved Sunny.
Very well done.
Lee Wan in my opinion had every right to run away because Shin Ki Tae reacted unfavorable to his confession of love in my opinion. I think he was just surprised but at same time he didn't seem to feel the same way. It is plausible that he didn't know how he felt until he lost Lee Wan for that 7 Years. Then all he could feel was regret. I mean he did immediately chase after Lee Wan so maybe he simply needed a moment after Lee Wan confessed, kissed and then took off.
But You could see Lee Wan was traumatized. He took a risk and he thought Ki Tae rejected him. But my heart went out to Ki Tae and his hidden anxiety in Episode 7. So well acted. I miss them already.

The only thing wrong with it is the fact that it's short
I loved everything about it. They went from lovers to strangers to enemies to lovers so quickly. I wish korean BLs would be longer. I love things that involve graphic design and games and it reminded me a bit of Semantic Error. The story was very different though. The boys were so freaking cute and I loved that when they had a problem it got me super sad but then it was easily solved and I was even happier. I loved them so much, the acting was on point, the chemistry was crazy and I wish I could watch more and more of them. Was this review helpful to you?

This is how you make a quality BL Korea
When I started this drama I had already seen about 4 other small Korean dramas that had the same formula, so I was discouraged because I didn't expect much from that formula. This dorama was a big surprise to me because it didn't follow the formula which for me, already raised the grade as a whole.
I just loved that for the first time the two of them did the bare minimum of having a relationship problem and talked about it, amen. THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP, KOREA, LEARN.
In terms of story I admit that there is nothing exciting but let me tell you that I SIMPLY LOVED the end of each episode that showed how they were literally in a game, I found it VERY creative.
About the acting I thought it was ok, not spectacular but not bad either.
If you are tired of the usual formula of Korean BLs, this one is for you. It flows so well that I could watch 40 minutes per episode and I wouldn't get bored.

DATING SIM IS A LIGHTHEARTED BL SERIES
Our Dating Sim might look like a limited budget series, and yeah, it probably is, but honestly, it’s still pretty good! It’s a short and simple watch, and while I personally found it a bit too short, it still managed to deliver a cute and enjoyable story in that limited time. One funny thing I noticed, the two main leads, Shin and Lee, look so similar! I swear, at times, I felt like I was watching twins. I couldn’t even tell them apart in some scenes, lol. But their chemistry works, and that’s what matters.
What I liked is that there aren’t too many characters to keep track of. The small cast makes the story easy to follow and not overwhelming at all. It's really chill and light-hearted there’s not much drama or emotional rollercoaster, so if you’re just looking to relax and not stress over a complex plot, this one’s a nice choice.
Overall, *Our Dating Sim* is short, sweet, and stress-free perfect for a cozy evening when you just want something soft and easy to watch.

A Teen-Like Thrilling & Comforting Love Story
As a verified lover of bl dramas, I can certainly say that this was worth the wait!! I loved each and every episode. This is drama is like no other!! I loved how they ended each episode with a simulation, the options and results were to die for! The cast was amazing, the plot was great, the OST was beautiful to my ears and the production was a 1000!! I won't compare this drama to any other, but it sort of gives me a Semantic Error vibes. The chemistry between the main characters was so aamazingg it made me breathless, they displayed such a comforting love without much problems. The episodes were short and very relaxing to watch. Cute and enjoyable.
So if you're wondering if you should take the risk and watch it I say yess! By all means go for it. You won't be disappointed if this you liked this review!!

Best KRBL 2023 easy.
The acting is extremelly on point here. The characters develop enough substance for us to understand their fears, actions and behaviours. The dialogues are meaningfull and have emotional depth as to leave KRBL lovers thinking "WOW HES REALLY ALL IN". No unecessary drama is added and given the limited screen time the script doesnt make the characters chase their tales. I love how mature the relation gets once theyve put their bullshit aside. Overall magnificent show. Hope to see them tgt again soomWas this review helpful to you?
One of the best KBLs to date
I watched Our Dating Sim right when it started to air and had zero expectations whatsoever. I appreciate the short-length format of the show (although as I've heard, it could have been longer than eight episodes) which was well within my attention span. Watching this series was easy, especially when you have two stunning actors who were really deep into their characters. The storyline could have been polished better. The chemistry between Lee Seunggyu and Lee Jonghyuk was what made me stay for the ride. Was this review helpful to you?
