K-Drama
War of Faith Episode 1 Reactions
I'm watching this for the second time, and I'm noticing so much more this time around. I'm really impressed by the cinematography, direction, acting and the authenticity of the sets and makeup. There are no "pretty boys" and even Wang Yibo blends in with the other characters making for an authentic feel that pulls you into the story. There are little tricks that help you feel the sensory and emotional vibe of each scene. For instance, when they are at the stock exchange, you see the emotions on people's faces (excitement, anxiety, boredom) and behind the chatter you can hear an opera that builds the mood. These are the kinds of subtle things that make you feel like you're immersed in the scene.
There's a lot going on in this episode, but it's setting the stage for the series. It's worth watching a second time if you feel a little lost. You could also search online for episode summaries for War of Faith to help fill in what you missed.

This is so good! Yibo is so endearing as Wei Ruolai, and Li Qin as Shen Jinzhen looks absolutely amazing with such a mature and interesting character. Production is insane, amazing costume department also. I really like period pieces and Shanghai in the 30s is such an interesting and dynamic time to place a spy thriller. Really looking forward this show

Wahh drama tentang sejarah keuangan China.

What a schlemiel. Good-hearted and smart as a whip but has absolutely no self-preservation or social skills. The beautiful assassing has him wrapped around her finger.
