A strong beginning for the young author's journey

The prologue with the snow should be kept in mind until the end of the 8 episodes, as it will reveal a deeper meaning than first assumed. The journey from "civilization" to "wilderness outpost" has already a nice range of feelings : frustration, disgust, resolution, courage, humor... The young writer has not many relatives, and struggles to understand her mom's decision to exile herself among strangers with a different culture. She soon finds she has a lot to learn in life.
