Wow. This episode was just so emotionally intense and sad. It was bad enough watching all the trauma and abuse that Auntie Qin endured and her suicide attempt, the brutality of Song Cheng Zu on 1st Daughter, the resulting insane, sociopathic tantrum that the latter then inflicted on Old Madam - basically driving her own mother to death. This episode was just brutal. And man,, the scene when Hua Zhi crawls onto the bed to lie close with Old Madam Hua in her last minutes. If you weren't crying watching that, then you must be a robot. The performances by both Liu Jia and Zhang Jing Yi in that scene was just so intense. And god, poor Shaoyao - this was like losing her mother all over again.

When I first watched this episode, this is one of the most sincere and loved characters that was lost to the Hua family. Her short scene with Huazhi was deeply moving. Acting: Grandmother Hua -- 10; Huazhi -- 10 Yanzi, 'My surname is Gu, Gu Yanzi.... they were all me' Huazhi, '...I won't forget those 10 beatings, I'm a very vindictive person. You better be nicer to me in the future, otherwise I'll take revenge.' Enter Shayao '... brother I thought you didn't want me and Sister Huazhi anymore' such a touching scene... love Shayao!

Mdm Hua is hounded to death by her own daughter. Zhi and Shoashoa are joined in grief by the family and surprisingly the Empress Dowager. A very poignant moment when childhood friends part from one another. Mourning leaves broken hearts but I hope not broken spirits.

This was an intense episode. Heartbreaking for Hua Zhi, Shaoyao and the grandkids who will grow up without the loving care of their grandmother.

I wasn't ready for madam hua dead. I really cried this scene. The way Huazhi cried I couldn't stop my tears. Literally heartbreaking, Huazhi is only hope was her grandma.
