A DRAMA THAT TRULY STAYED WITH ME
This drama meant so much to me .It took me on full rollercoaster of emotions-from sadness to happiness and back again- and somehow made my everyday life feel brighter .I seriously loved every single character and how their presence changed each other's lives, and it reminded me trying , no matter the outcome , is always worth it.
From family to friendships , and the amazing chemistry between the leads, every part felt real and touching. I mean the crazy friends to their parents everybody had a role which they portrayed so well that made me feel like I was part of that whole scene not just watching them from far. Loved the cast and the persona they carried throughout , loved the songs ,wished the drama be longer as getting over it was not easy but rewatching always gave me comfort .
Actually some dramas are just tea, some are a sip, but this one felt like a cup of life for me.And none of this is exaggerated ,these are my honest emotions I wanted to share as reviews are not about overhyping or putting someone down ; they are about sharing how a story makes you feel, and this drama gave me so much. I am glad this drama exists.

Lovely Runner: A Love Story That Transcends Time and Every Other Romance Kdrama For Me
I felt compelled to write this review not just as a longtime Kdrama fan, but as someone who has witnessed truly beautiful storytelling be unfairly dismissed by critics and haters alike. The criticism Lovely Runner has received from some people is baffling, especially when it comes from those who genuinely believed When the Phone Rings was a quality drama 🙃Lovely Runner is a romcom masterpiece and one of the best Romance Kdramas ever made. Sun Jae and Sol weren’t just characters. They felt like soulmates etched into the fabric of time itself, and their story swept me away in a way few dramas ever have. Of course, it’s undeniable that Byeon Woo Seok is magnetic and gorgeous, and Kim Hye Yoon grows more luminous and beautiful with every scene. But beyond their visuals, they fully embodied their characters with such sincerity and emotional truth that it felt like watching real people fall in love in real time. Their chemistry was extraordinary. Moreover, I was genuinely amazed by how brilliantly this drama was written too. Time travel is notoriously difficult to execute without causing confusion, but this story handled it with impressive clarity and consistency. Every plot twist, every shift in the timeline and every change in the character's personality was carefully and meticulously constructed, allowing viewers to stay grounded and engaged even as the back and forth across timelines became more complex. The pacing never faltered, and the finale beautifully tied every thread together with emotional and narrative satisfaction that felt both earned and complete. My appreciation for how the writer and director crafted the story interweaving events and planting clues across timelines with *perfect* timing only deepens with each rewatch. It’s a remarkably intelligent show. This becomes more apparent the more you rewatch it.
Of course, it wasn’t without flaws. The grandmother’s role as the keeper of the timelines could have used more depth, the serial killer subplot lacked context and backstory, and some scenes between Hyun Ju and Im Geum felt overly exaggerated. These moments were noticeable, yes but fleeting. They were minor distractions compared to the emotional weight and strength of the core love story, which remained powerful and unshaken throughout. And honestly, I wouldn’t even call them flaws, per se because hey, perhaps this was simply the writer’s intention. I was just genuinely curious to know more about these two aspects of the drama and I never got the answers or even the slightest explanation, and that’s why I docked 0.5 from my score. I had a sneaking suspicion that Sol's grandmother was a diety of some sort or a metaphor for fate as Sol and Taesung often mentioned about "Celestial Granny" so I wanted something more from the narrative.
What truly sets Lovely Runner apart is how it portrays love, not as fleeting passion or obsessive longing, but as something enduring, selfless, and deeply sacrificial. Even in Kdrama, where romance is often heightened and idealized, it is rare to see love explored with such quiet authenticity and emotional maturity. This drama didn’t just show love, it understood it. At first, I was deeply moved by Sun Jae’s unwavering devotion, how he fell deeply in love with Sol from the moment he first saw her as a 19-year-old swimmer with a promising future on that fateful rainy day. He remained quietly in the background, silently caring for her and protecting her because she wasn’t even aware he existed. He even silently accepted her misplaced blame for saving her life in the original timeline, carrying that guilt without protest for fifteen long years. That kind of love, so patient, so unassuming, broke my heart. Even more so when he willingly chose the path of his own death, fully aware it was inevitable if he stayed by Sol’s side. But as the story progressed, it was Sol’s love that began to shine just as brightly. Her journey went from devoted fan, to supportive friend, to a lover willing to surrender not just the man she loves, but every memory and lifetime they shared, in order to save him no matter what it took. They stood as equals in longing, in courage, in sacrifice, and in love. This consistent emotional reciprocity is rare.
The OST was a masterpiece in its own right. Each track felt like an extension of the characters’ emotions, elevating them in every scene.
In a sea of dramas that conflate love with desire or possession, Lovely Runner stood like a lighthouse. It reminded me that true love is about choosing someone again and again, through time, through pain. It was the kind of love that bends fate, not for its own happiness, but simply to protect the other. That kind of love, the kind that saves rather than consumes, is what makes Lovely Runner unforgettable, illuminating and beautiful. That is why this drama means so much to me. Alongside When Life Gives You Tangerines, it is one of the only love stories I have encountered that captures that love should be unselfish, patient, enduring, and kind. And when fate finally bent to Sun Jae and Sol’s love after all their heartbreak, suffering and loss, it didn’t just feel like a win for them. It felt like a win for everyone who still believes that pure, selfless love exists in a world that often forgets it does. Lovely Runner is not just my number one Kdrama in the romance genre. It has become my gold standard.

Enjoyable Romantic & Dramatic Comedy Series
"Lovely Runner" is a standout Korean drama that left a lasting impression with its clever writing and well-crafted plot. While there were a few areas that could have benefited from deeper development, especially the side characters and the comedic timing of the side characters were not enjoyable or well executed, the overall storyline was consistent and thoughtfully drawn out across the series. The main characters’ flaws added depth, as their motives, desires, and goals remained unwavering and relatable throughout the show. The two main actors delivered stellar performances, making the drama not only believable but also deeply engaging, as they roped viewers into their characters' thought processes and emotional journeys. Byeon Woo Seok made audiences believe, without a doubt, that his character was brimming with love and dedication from start to finish—conveying that the world was better because she existed, and that the moon and stars hung on her every smile and presence. The love and connection between the protagonists were the true highlights, setting this drama apart from others in 2024. Kim Hye Yoon, in particular, shone brilliantly, bringing the series together with her nuanced and captivating performance. "Lovely Runner" is a beautiful blend of heart, intellect, and emotion, leaving an indelible mark on the year’s slate of dramas. Was this review helpful to you?

A strongly decent and slightly overrated drama
Despite the title, I did enjoy this drama, I really did. I've had my doubts, throughout the course of my watch, mostly because of a few writing decisions, but I ended up liking it in the end. However, based on other people's perception of the drama, I don't think it's that good, as many people say it, some say that it is the drama of the year, which is a WILD statement, but then again, I feel like the dramas this year a bit lacking, so who knows. So let's go over this. I did enjoy the story, I was a bit vary at first when I learned that it is a time travel drama, It's not like I dislike them, but they tend to yolo some of the story elements quite often, and I also did see that here aswell unfortunately, but far less than what I am used to which is a good sign. I enjoyed the interactions, between the leads, and seeing their relationships develop, I especially loved the fact that this wasn't a fan and star story, but rather than a story about friends turned lovers, and I especially loved seeing both Pov's, because it made it even more wholesome. The time travel aspect of the story was a bit inconsistent, especially when it came to the rules of what our female lead could reveal to others in the past especially when the plot found it convenient, I was like, "WHERE DID THE TIME TRAVEL RULE GO?" The one thing I hated the most about the plot was the antagonist, if we can even call him that. It felt like he was a plot device, rather than a character, because we literally knew nothing about him except that he was a serial killer, we didn't even knew why he was obsessed with Im Sol and Sun Jae, so throughout my watch I looked as him as a plot device rather than a character. I also did enjoy the fact that the story jumped through different timelines, and time loops, it made things fresh, though towards the end, I felt like it was a bit overdone and got repetetive. There was also a love triangle, which thankfully wasn't the point at all, and had little significance. I also liked the fact that they made the ML engage with the time travel idea, I think they could've and should've done more with this, but I'm just glad they included this, because frankly, I wish more time travel dramas would. I also enjoyed the ending, I think it was a fitting one for the characters. I had a bit of a problem with the acting however, I found the female leads's acting especially cringe at times, and especially her brother and best friend, sometimes I hated when they were on screen. The one thing I loved the most about this drama was the OST, it was so freaking beautiful, and gave such a beautiful aesthetic to the scenes, and I found myself singing along sometimes, which was funny to see. Overall even though I enjoyed this drama, I really wouldn't say that it's the best one this year has to offer, but I still think you should watch it if you like the time travel concept (and don't mind the plot being messy sometimes), with a good romance. Was this review helpful to you?

"SUNJAEAAAA"
Alright, just finished watching and I'm going directly to the point: 8.5 cause byeon woo seok, ost, thematic.I've seen maaaany reviews talking about how the plot could've been different, where the female lead would've been way less childish and the male lead wouldn't had been a golden retriever type of boy.
Yeah, in my opinion Im Sol was really childish, and couldn't even think of a proper plan to stay with Sunjae without avoiding him or without him being killed at the end.
I know that she tried (poorly, sorry) but she gave up so easily... even Sun Jae and Kim Tae Sung (whose lost their memories completely) were the ones who saved the whole situation (Kim Tae Sung mostly)
Furthermore, the villain (i guess we can all agree) was so bad portrayed. Like, is there anyone here that cared about his presence? Actually, he didn't even had a presence LOL😭
He could've had been way better, but i completely forgot about his existence cause for me, he just wasn't there.
But wait, there's more! Sun Jae's friends were...hmm unnecessary. I mean, just like the "villain", they could've had been useful in many aspects, but they weren't.
Im Sol's family (besides her grandma) didn't added much to the story too.
And coming back to the plot, i got sad when Im Sol were able to walk again. This phrase feels awful but i think the story could've been such much better if she stayed in her wheelchair... It would be included and it would give her a stronger personality.
Regardless, i cannot deny that i laughed A LOT, mostly because of Sun Jae!
C'mon y'all, his expressions and reactions were everything! His golden retriever energy that I've seen that many of you didn't liked, was the cherry on top for me.
Plus, the OST were amaaazing!!! I liked almost every damn song.
Finalizing, actors were 10/10 Woo Seok is wonderful and Kim Hye Yoon too, but she would definitely shine if Im Sol were a less drama queen and childish character. Song Geon-hee (Kim Tae Sung) did really well too and his character deserved more.

Both classic and refreshing
Such a great series. It's got all the classic k-drama clichés, but at the same time feels so new and refreshing! It's a true rollercoaster of emotions. On top of that, the OST is simply amazing. Was this review helpful to you?
Lovely Runner is for those who are looking for something to FEEL.
Sometimes in life, all we need is a simple and healing kdrama that will heal us regardless of its shortcoming. 'Lovely Runer' is a solid 7.5 for me. It took me long to watch this kdrama because of the hype, it gave me this image that it is cliché since many are hyping it. But nah, it is actually worth it. This kdrama would absolutely feed your needs as a kdrama fan. No criticism, no looking for plotholes, no judgement, just watch it without finding its imperfections, maybe those are the reason why is this kdrama an absolute OKAY for me. Maybe not all are perfect and not for the standard of everyone, the beauty of kdrama is to give us an opportunity to see the beauty of life.Lovely Runner was an easy watch. This is good if you're not finding for a Perfect kdrama but rather looking for something that will make you FEEL.
We all deserve a Ryu Sun Jae I believe. ❤️🩹

this is a MASTERPIECE !!
“Thank you for staying alive. Your loved ones must have felt so relieved… live another day.”This line from *Lovely Runner* sums up why the series touched so many people — it gave hope, joy, and unforgettable moments to viewers around the world.
For me, this was one of the best dramas I’ve watched in my two years as a K-drama fan. Why? Because watching it was one of the most entertaining experiences of my life. There’s something special about following a drama while it’s airing — knowing that thousands of others are just as curious and excited as you are each week.
What made *Lovely Runner* even more special was that it didn’t even have a massive budget. No one expected it to blow up the way it did, yet it became incredibly popular and loved. That’s exactly what makes it a masterpiece for me.
And then there’s the acting… Kim Hye-yoon and Byeon Woo-seok were a perfect match. Their on-screen chemistry was off the charts, and their performances made it feel like they were truly living their characters’ lives. They worked so hard on this drama, and the fact that their effort was rewarded with fame and love makes me so happy.
If you’re an emotional viewer like me, get ready to cry, laugh, and even get frustrated at times. The very first 15 minutes already had me in tears — the way Sun-jae gave Sol hope for life again was so moving. His words touched me deeply.
But I have to say this: *Lovely Runner* isn’t for viewers who get bored easily or only want lighthearted romance and comedy. For me, romantic comedies like this are an escape from real-life problems — but for some people, it might feel like a waste of time.
Still, if you just want to spend 16 episodes being happy and forgetting about your worries, this drama is perfect for you.
**Final Thoughts:**
For me, this drama is a true masterpiece. Because a 10/10 doesn’t always mean a drama that leaves you breathless or sweating from tension. Sometimes, it means a drama that makes the butterflies in your heart come alive. And that’s everything.

10/10
It was perfect, the actors were so good they really did justice to the characters. This has been one of the best romcom drama I've watched so far. Hyeyoon was really amazing, I've watched her since extraordinary you, she did an amazing job on this one, Wooseok also shine the brightest here among all the dramas he starred in, I can say this is def one of his best. The story was well written also, I cannot determine how i'm feeling during some of the scenes, my mouth was open laughing, my eyes were full of tears and my heart aches. I felt a lot of emotions all at once, and it has been so long since I felt something like this. I cannot get over this drama, it was literally perfect.jus want to say that all the actors did very well, even the supporting actors were really good!
this is a must watch for me. 10/10

Great Chemistry
i love how lovely runner is a perfect mix of everything. giving us all different types of genres while still having the romcom as the main focus, the plot not being too slow or too fast and the main leads having good amounts of screentime while also showing us both their Povs. It's a perfect combination of romance, comedy, thriller, angst... like everything fits so well. Byeon Woo Seok did his part and of course and Kim Hye-Yoon, she's isn't award winning actress for nothing, SHE DID SO WELL!Was this review helpful to you?
The drama that brought me back from my kdrama slump!!!
Lovely runner definitely of the most SATISFYING kdrama romcom, because let’s be real romcom is the genre that Kdrama thrives, and LR definitely delivers. 🥹🥹🥹The intricate details, the comedic punch, and the poetic parallels they pull across different timelines. Like there’s nothing new under the sun but somehow this drama still feels extremely fresh 🥹🥹
Like any other time travel drama, of course it is not perfect, but it still exceeds way beyond expectations. Who would have thought that a drama about a parasocial idol relationship could pull your heartstrings.
It was still a perfectly cast drama, nicely paced, not trying so hard to be overly complicated, it is just enough for what it is, a beautiful, fun and nostalgic. Looking back at their iconic scenes (and their songss!! OMG), definitely going to be a classic K drama staple for a long time.
