Khemjira

เขมจิราต้องรอด ‧ Drama ‧ 2025

ok so i was now rewatching it for the 5th or 6th time, and on episode 2 i always think that, when jet and khem were coming back from Rae's house and jet says that even if he hurts his wife it's none of our business", it was so selfish of jet to say that and the fact that charn and khem were literally saying that domestic violence is wrong and also he even followed khem to Rae's house was because he was worried about khem and not about rae.

i love this show so much and i keep rewatching it again and again and i am probably one of the biggest khemjira glazers because it deserves the world, but i honestly think that they could've done that domestic abuse thing so much better because wdym that husband didn't get any punishment for his deeds, ik he experienced near death experience but these things die hard, as master said too, i can be wrong so if someone can explain from their point of view...

I always took it as the show trying to show his mindset rather than saying he was right, because Khem and Charn immediately disagreed with him. But it still felt selfish, especially because Jet mainly followed Khem out of worry for Khem and not really because he cared about Rae herself. I feel like the writers used Rae’s situation more to develop the characters and themes instead of fully addressing the abuse itself... Another pov from the people defending Jet’s line usually sees it less as “Jet supports abuse” and more as him trying to stop Khem from getting involved in something dangerous. Since Khem always throws himself into helping others, Jet might’ve been thinking emotionally/practically like “don’t put yourself at risk over another couple’s situation.” And because Jet’s priorities are almost always centered around Khem specifically, his following Khem reads more as protectiveness over his friend than concern for Rae herself. I don't know, I could be completely wrong though!!

what you said actually makes sense and i get it why they did that, honestly i think it was also actually to show that not everyone is black or white some people are actually grey, because as you said that charn and khem instantly disagreed too, and i read somewhere that in places like these small villages there is no good system of police or stuff and they actually showed us that he is trying to be better but also pheem said that it's not that easy.

honestly the thing i like most about this show is that everything is so in depth, that many people can have different interpretations about many things, when i first saw episode 2, i was actually so disappointed that how they handled it, but rewatching it again actually made many things understandable for me.. and i am sure there might be more to it...

thanks for sharing your pov and it actually helped alot, and now that i think about it the show has always showed that jet is selfish or more like just cares about the people he loves.

i love p'den's work so muchhhh, he pays attention to the smallest details and hus direction is top notch, my favourite director, the way he directed khemjira, a masterpiece, and now love upon a time, i am obsessed with that show.
