The chemistry between two lead actors is amazing

I have a love-hate relationship with bl dramas cause sometimes the plot or the acting is extremly akward and not enjoyable. Maybe it´s because of lee taevin acting experiences but he delivered an amazing performance and played myung ha perfectly.

I really like the chemistry between the two lead actors! The cutesness is overflowing. What gets you hooked are the cute and funny scenes/ moments between myung ha and yeo hoon. The little moments that makes you smile and your heart flutter. Yeah absolutely adorable.

The ending is a little dramatic and rushed but I think it is because they tried to squeeze everthing in 8 episodes ( could have more ep in my opinion lol).
Overall a must watch for all bl fans ^^

I was not expecting so much from this series but the moment I started it, I was hooked. The story makes you think and although I have some questions at the end they were answered . You just have to connect the dots. There is character development but the secondary leads were not given much time and character focus. I understand the build up of the story but there are some scenes which are extended. In a way, the story is not only psychological but philosophical. What is the meaning of our life? Where can we find happiness? I like it when a question is asked on the fate of a person. Is it really the way it is or are we the ones who make our own destiny ? Or do we even have the chance to alter our fate and our future. How I wish we all have second chances for salvation and happiness. Well, it is up for us to answer those questions when we relate ourselves to the characters. Another thing, I like it when " I love You" changes the mechanics of the game/ life of a person. It is really love the matters in the end. I like the main actors. They are not only cute but can act. You can see the emotions in their eyes and they have chemistry. I just wish they can finally express more their acting talents in a Season 2 or in a future BL series. Over all, I'm satisfied and happy. Isn't it the mission of every series that we watch ?

Short review:
I loved this series so much! The plot felt very unique, which was certainly refreshing. I loved the ease of the interactions between the characters, it felt so natural. And when drama happened it felt well-explained and even relatable. This series had me giggling, even blushing in the good moments and bawling my eyes out in the bad moments, which for me is a great measure of a good series. I wholeheartedly recommend this series, and hope you can find the love that I found in it.

A series with loads of fun moments, a unique premise, with a deep theme hidden in it.

So, I went into this series without any clue...I haven't read webtoon...I directly started watching the series and my god I was invested like crazy since the first ep...
The game setting is very interesting and most importantly, it is well executed...given it's budget, series surprisingly executed almost every aspect flawlessly...for me, the series is 9.5/10 overall but...I added 0.5 because they deserve the praise for making such a beautiful series within limited budget...

Pros:
-there is no toxicity: every character is lovable and understanding...the love triangle situation is handled in a very mature way...
-acting: Lee taevin gives a standout performance here, he needs more work ASAP...
Other actors also did so well...it's very believable...
-story: the storyline is a rollercoaster ride... continuously oscillating between darker and deeper and themes lovey dovey elements...last two ep will make you cry...and all the cute moments will make you blush hard...also, the final takeaway of self love is unexpected but worth it...
-music: the music choices are well thought and elevate the overall feel...
-production and cinematography: the series looks high budget...the frames capture it's youthful nature perfectly...

Cons:
-screenplay: it could've been better.. if this had atleast 10 ep, the game and system error elements could've been explained in a better way...I wouldn't say it is bad...but it does confuse you frequently because the cuts are abrupt without any explanation...but maybe it can make sense if you consider it's game premise, thinking it might be because of glitches...

Overall, it's a must watch, not just as a bl but even as a general kdramas...This is a classic that will be remembered in years to come...
Definitely in my top three kBLs...(along with the eighth sense and to my star 2)

Something to tug on your heartstrings

Well this made me way more emotional than I expected. The story has a message that is relatable whether you're a teenager or an adult. Very heartwarming and heart-wrenching at times, this series is a kind reminder to look for happiness even at the worst of times, because more often than not it's hidden deep in our everyday lives, too ordinary to notice but too outstanding to completely miss. The quote from the last episode is articulated much better, but if anyone wants to see how exactly it was worded, then check out the series. Eight episodes are way too short to miss out on!

IS THERE A REASON NOT TO WATCH IT???

This is definetly the year of korean bl's.
I started this BL with not much expectations and ended watching it with it becoming my top 2 !
What was good about it? Well, everything. The original plot was amazing and well made. Not to mention the episodes were longer than usual (30-40). This series don't need a lot of nc/kissing scenes etc to be perfect. It's perfect because of it's story, cast and music. I really can't mention a reason of why not to watch it.
Go watch this masterpiece, you wouldn't regret.

One of the best K-BLs of All Time!

I originally never even planned to watch this until i saw some edits on tiktok. At first i was uninterested ,but the more i watched the first episode the more i was hooked.

The cinematography, music, and actors were amazing. This BL surprised me with how well the actors brought their roles to life.

It also goes to show how the production company took their time to make a compelling story!

I am so sad its over, but I wish that the actors get the recognition that they have well earned! Watch ASAP, you won't regret it!

A cultural reset in Korean BL

Saying "Love for Love's Sake" is one of the best BL dramas of all time is not an exaggeration. The story, although not something new, was thought-provoking, in a way that even after the series was over, it left us wondering about our definition of love and happiness. Although I'm not the biggest fan of short eight-episode, half-an-hour runtime dramas, the plot overall didn't leave me frustrated. It left me empty, however, because I realized I would now be missing the characters, the story, and their universe, and wishing for more of them.

The first four episodes were gold. The development of the relationship between the two main characters felt natural. The latter four episodes felt a bit disjointed at times (from the editing), but these didn't take anything from the plot. And the ending was shown beautifully, the perfect way to close the series.

As for the characters, Tae Myung Ha has to be one of the most beautifully complex characters written. He had flaws, insecurities, and struggles that I couldn't help but resonate with. Lee Tae Vin's performance here was unmatched. He is definitely one of the best Korean actors to have graced the BL genre. Also, kudos to Cha Joo Wan for bringing the vulnerable teenager Cha Yeo Woon to life. Watching the series was surreal it felt like I was looking at the characters, and throughout the story, I found myself rooting for them.

Fun fact: their names make a sweet wordplay. If you get the 'Woon' (운) from Yeo Woon (여운), and 'Myung' (명) from Myung Ha (명하), it would form the word 'Woon Myung' (운명), which means "fate".

Now, I'm rewatching the series for the 3rd (or 4th time, I don't remember now). It's just that good. It has this feeling of nostalgia with a warm splash of summer love.

My new #1 favorite korean bl.

I had just binge watched this series yesterday. Since it has been airing, I've heard a lot of good things about it. Other than that, it was all over my social media accounts. Twitter, Tiktok, Instagram-- it was everywhere. So I decided to finally watch it. I am a fan of Woongki, so I was anticipating the BL he was going to be in since it was announced, but I didn't realize it was this one until I had started watching. I did enjoy his character, though.

Now, onto the show itself. I was very confused at the beginning. But as time went on, I ended up understanding it more quickly. I loved the dynamic between Myungha and Yeowoon. Although, I felt insanely bad for Yeowoon because of his struggles, and I found that I related to him a lot. Same with Myungha, I related to him a lot more when his backstory was revealed near the ending of the story.

When I started the series, I had no idea what it was about. I didn't watch a trailer, read a synopsis or any reviews. I went in blind, but I think I enjoyed that more since I was able to piece to plot together myself. I enjoyed the unique plot a lot. There were many times where I was genuinely shocked at twists. Nothing that I had expected to happen did (other than the scenes I had briefly seen in edits before).

The two leads, Lee Taevin and Cha Joowon had really good chemistry. They also played their parts very well. I'm even more impressed with Taevin's portrayal of Myungha. It is difficult to express those complex and foreign emotions that Myungha had to deal with.

There is a lot I want to say, but I will refrain because I don't want to spoil. But, I highly recommend this to anyone, no matter what kind of love story they are looking for. It has it's cute moments, but the overall depths of the plot is very sad. I was even expecting it to have a sad ending (which I wouldn't have minded.)

I seriously enjoyed watching this, and I wish I could watch it again for the first time.

THE BEST KOREAN BL

For me, the best Korean BL.

I find the story idea cool, that Tae Myung Ha is brought into a game where he's young again and has to make Cha Yeo Woon happy again. Along the way, he has to complete several tasks and make decisions, which broke his heart multiple times.

The whole setup of the story is well-executed, and it's only at the end that everything is resolved. With the plot twist that Yeo Woon actually embodies him in his previous life, sort of. (I still haven't fully understood whether he's living a new life or still the same). Ultimately, he helped himself to be happy again and found a wonderful love in the process.

I'm generally a big fan of such "unusual" stories. Overall, it's a mega BL.

Love for Love’s Sake is about a man who was put into this virtual world where he had some task to do for this young man but what it is really is about is for him to finally found happiness that he had been long clamoring for. This is why South Korean BLs are so fucking good. They have the amazing characters and I tell that with every Korean BLs that I watch but this is true. The main character here is a guy named Tae Myung-ha played by Lee Taevin. I was seriously surprised with this casting because Lee Taevin is someone that we have watched in a big South Korean show. He had a good part in it so seeing him do a BL that is usually not been done is pretty exciting for me. I watched some of his work and he is good. This is why I seriously think that they have chosen him for the lead part in this show. I am glad that they did because most of the characters struggles are all internal and another thing that I love about this character is that his journey towards happiness is not through other people but it is from him letting himself open himself up to other people. This is such a huge part of the story because he had been separated with his mother and she did not own up to him when he tried meeting with her. She rejected her and that broke him to pieces. It is such a sad part of the story but the execution is pretty good. It highlighted why this character is the way that he is. He started playing this game like an actual game that he is someone who is playing him so he needs to make him happy and be close with for love’s sake and I think that is where the title came from but he slowly opened himself up to being fully immerse with his character and his relationship with Cha Yeon-woo that I was personally inspired to see their relationship really flourish under the circumstance that they are in. He is finally letting himself be happy and that is what mattered the most. I love the scene that he had with the grown version of himself. He found his true happiness in this virtual world that completely felt so real. This may sound a bit problematic but I think it is more metaphorical than that. I am seriously in love with the idea that they went here because it really felt like a character-driven story. This is just Myung-ha. We also have his main lover in the story. He is Cha Yeo Woon. He is a character that runs and is very popular. He is the character that Myung-ha is supposed to take care of and make him happy. He is a school athlete who is realtively popular because he is good at he does and he looks good doing it. He is handsome and he is athletic. He is also hot but Cha Joo Wan who played him is actually a good actor too. He is not as good as Lee Taevin here but with more experience he will be a really good lead. He had a more dramatic role and had a very good character development. He got more and more mature as the story continued and that is always a good thing especially in cases like this. He also gives the most romantic scenes here. He is this golden retriever who just wants to make Myung-ha happy and he is trying his best to please him and I love that about the story. It raises the bar so high especially with how their relationship bloom into something more meaningful than I initially expected. I really like that. The best thing about their relationship is the chemistry of the two actors. We also have an amazing second lead with Chun Sang won. He is played by Oh Min Su. He may not be the best actor in the cast but he looks the hottest of everyone. I am seriously in love with Oh Min Su while watching the show. He is such a fine human being and he really showed genuine emotions toward Myung-ha that I started to adore. He is so honest with him and the friendly rivalry between him and Yeo Woon makes me want to be Myung-ha immediately. This is a really good show with a lot of it is thanks to the amazing writing and the incredible lead performance by Lee Taevin.
