This KBL was a masterpiece!
Very recommended to watch it! I really love it and I still can't move on from this, this is my favorite Korean BL Drama forever! The plot was so intense and unpredictable, what a masterpiece! Great job!🫶A little off about it is the broadcasting, I think that if you make 2 episodes per week that will be perfect because there's a lot of cliffhanger there and it will gain popularity because of assumptions and predictions of the drama but over all it's okay!
Love for love's sake is not just a normal bl but it was a masterpiece because of the story, cast and production. I hope for season 2 because the happy ending scenes was so short I need more episodes of them being happy together!🥺🫶

STOP DOZING OFF AND GIVE IT A GO!
Stop dozing off and just give it a go! When I first watched the initial three minutes of this show, I was taken aback by the gaming-type window. I wondered about its relevance in a BL series, as I was expecting raw emotions and a connection to the real world. However, I finally decided to give it a chance, and I must tell you, I finished the entire series in one sitting. This show was mesmerizing, a complete piece of art, masterfully crafted, I must say probably the best BL series of the past 3 years! I found almost everything here. The chemistry was good too, and it’s relatable if you’re going through rough times. It’s a timeless tale!Just give it a try… I will definitely rewatch this in the future! Kudos to the production team, the writer, the director, and obviously, our beloved actors!

So unique!
The plot is so creative; it's one of the best plots I've ever watched in BLs, actually. Making reality into a game was a genius move; it allowed the authors to get carried away with reactions, plot twists, and mysteries without them not making any sense or being random, because after all, no matter what would come on, it would have to make sense since it's in the game. Even slightly cringeworthy moments or characters' rushed development were totally fine, because they could've been a bit caricaturized. However! That didn't make the story all fluffy, boring, or lacking. I absolutely loved the background for the little love story of Myungha and Yeowoon, especially that out-of-the-box ending. Although I still feel like we could've been provided with more information about the game itself, etc., I wholeheartedly hope for a spin-off. Watching all these dramas, you can notice how most of them don't bring anything to the table—this series totally does. Creative, interesting, engaging storylines; amazing acting; outstanding visuals (I loved how the director provides viewers with shots typical for video games; it just makes the whole experience even more enjoyable). There's nothing tired or corny about it. They served quality AND quantity, since that's one of the longest KBLs we've got so far. Honorable mention for music; it was one of the best soundtracks I've heard in BLs. The only con I could think of is, as I've stated prior, the lack of disclosure regarding the author of the game, how the game works, how it is controlled, and how he managed to stay inside—but that doesn't make the show any less great and it's not like it was absolutely necessary for the author to touch upon those things; it just makes me hope for a second season.Was this review helpful to you?

Encapsulates the best kind of kdrama feelilngs
I really enjoy the lead characters and their journeys individually and together as friends and as a couple. The conceit of the gaming mechanics guides them to grow their relationship organically. I really like how though there are general goals and issues to resolve, it's still up to Myung Ha how he proceeds and how he treats Yeo Woon and everyone else. It's so refreshing to see the two actually spend time as a couple and that they have the tasteful amount of kisses and physical intimacy. The handholding is always so warm and cute.The opening episodes while Myung Ha is learning the ropes of his situation are so hilarious and I love how the stakes are tangible and that's what drives the angst rather than ridiculous misunderstandings that a lot of other stories drag out the story with, no matter the run time. I really like how the internal lore explains the situation that Myung Ha is in as well. I love how the ending lets both Yeo Woon and Myung Ha make their own choices, such a lovely ending of second chances to live life with love, romantic, platonic, and familial.
The show has very nice editing, sound, lighting, and cinematography, being cinematic without being distractingly ostentatious. The show definitely makes the best use of it's probably small budget. At 8 episodes and half hour runtime, the show makes use of every second and is streamlined to all the most important parts of the storytelling. This does mean only lightly delving into the side characters and the stalker subplot, but it doesn't detract from the story at all. I'm here for the main characters and there is enough character interactions with the others to build the world.
The pacing is fantastic and the developments makes it very easy to binge like all the best of kdramas are. Definitely worth a watch for anyone in search of a good drama.

The best K-BL drama released this year☝?
My opinion is that this is the BEST Korean BL drama released this year!I randomly stumbled upon this series while it was still airing, and it got me really interested since I haven't watched a good BL in ages!
The chemistry between the leads is amazing, and the cast is truly awesome. I love how adorable and cute the relationship between Myung Ha and Yeo Woon was.
I absolutely loved how Tae Myung Ha approached Cha Yeo Woon and tried to make him happy. But instead, Yeo Woon fell for him, and then Myung Ha also fell for him. I was totally surprised when Sang Won also developed feelings for Myung Ha, and it was hilarious when he told the bullies that he's gay! 😂 The last two episodes really broke me, but thankfully, the ending fixed everything and the whole series healed me. The game errors got me really stressed everytime fr.🥲
I love how the growing love for each other is expressed through the series. It's definitely a must-watch!

I must say. This series has BUDGET. It either has budget or is just being directly well enough to look like it. I really think it’s a mix of both. To me, it’s more the heart behind something and the direction that makes it good. I’d thought that maybe with a series as pretty as this that might be compensating for the lack of direction, story, and heart.. but it doesn’t. The visuals enhance the story and all the way around it’s a wonderful drama.I will add more when I get to my laptop, but this one is a really good one. I hope the last half of the series continues and is better than the first half.
I love it when you can tell that every scene and everything shown has a purpose. There is no fluff in this drama and it utilizes everything given to it in the right places. The money went towards the right place, the casting, this drama does not waste your time. It has a lot of heart and I'm so glad it went through with the queer romance.. that is in terms of following through the difference of being a devoted friend, to truly and unconditionally loving someone.

This came as a surprise to me. I didn't think it would be good. Most of the time kbl are mediocre cause either of bad plot or short run time. But this didn't have that issue. A very interesting plot and good enough run time (although more is always good). I liked the plot. It was something new. Although i would have appreciate they would lay down the rules of the game and made it more game like. Like looking at stats and what not. Because it was kinda of confusing. But other than that very good. I love the chemistry of the main leads. They can act very well.Especially the kisses. It didn't feel awkward and they kissed like any normal couple will do. Which is very rare in KBL. So i am thankful for that. Anyways good watch. I wish in the future we will get a 1 hour kbl. Unexpectedly turned out to be really good
I don't usually watch BL series, but I watched this one because of Cha Woongki. The plot isn't something that I would tend to watch, but I admit that it was quite intriguing. I liked how the characters' personalities unfolded or developed throughout the story. The characters' actions annoyed me at times, but I actually ended up rooting for all of them. I didn't expect the writer to drop the bomb (aka sad backstory) on the last two episodes, but I'm just glad that the story ended well. Good job! 👍🏼Was this review helpful to you?
A deeper understanding of love and happiness
What a fantastic way to start 2024 with a remarkable Korean BL. It’s been on my watchlist for so long and just waiting for the release day, now finally, I was able to finish the show. To be honest, I am not expecting the fantasy touch as its concept and I find it too hard to get the whole story but you just need to focus on the build-up of the characters to enjoy the drama to the fullest.It all starts with a mission to make Cha Yeon Woo happy, as we all thought, this has to be the objective of the game but in the end, we realize that it is not. The point of the game is to give him another chance for Tae Myung Ha to acknowledge himself, love himself, to find his purpose and happiness in life. I admire the clever way of writing the script -unique and excellent.
In general, the drama wins a lot and has something great to offer to its audience. Casting a beautiful set of actors to play the roles is the typical norm we see from K-BLs, but this one is not the usual one. The actors are such great actors who can deliver and be firm with their characters. I love the genuine acting with top-notch chemistry that is a must for a romance genre. I’ve been a fan of Cha Joo Wan since his debut acting in School 2021 and have been following him on Instagram since then, but I am still amazed at how soft and pure he is and feels like he is Cha Yeo Woon in real life.
Love for Love’s Sake is the perfect title for the show. It allows viewers to understand that love in general is complicated but an important factor in life that makes us alive. This drama receives a lot of love from the community and I am happy for the warm feedback as the actors and crew behind the success of this drama work so hard to produce and promote such a masterpiece. I’m going to be honest, I don’t enjoy it to the fullest unlike with a few K-BLs but I am pretty sure that this show is part of my Top 10 K-BLs of all time. It's just that, the story may be a little confusing at the beginning but worth watching since you will fall in love with the ending.

Te voy a ser sincera desde el capítulo 6 que todo el juego da problemas no me he enterado muy bien de la historia y tu te preguntarás ¿por que pones entonces buena nota? yo te lo respondo , creo que este el mejor BL coreano de los que me he visto, ambos protagonistas son dos bollitos que quiero proteger, sobretodo el actor que hace de Cha Yeo Woon (Cha Joo Wan ) que se marca un papelazo. Ha hecho un gran personaje que me ha hecho amarlo.Ahora bien respecto de la historia, no entiendo quien era el Sunbae de Tae Myung Ha (es decir, el pavo que le escribe toda la historia, ¿quién es?). No entiendo porque le da problemas el sistema.
Quiero entender que lo que hace Cha Yeo Woon cuando coge la pluma es cambiar el propósito del juego para volver a Tae Myung Ha.
Si bien puedo entender que se suicida porque su madre le rechaza y abandona rehaciendo de nuevo su vida, me parece que se queda un poco cojo por la parte Cha Yeo Woon que no se sabe bien lo que pasa.
No ha sido una mala historia me hubieran gustado mas momentos juntos, el mejor momento de la serie es cuando va a verle a la carrera y la comida posterior.
Odio que la escena final sea un viaje de todos a la playa, la tipica escena de playa mojandose todos. ¿Por qué no me han podido dar otra escena como la cita?

More like Drama for Drama’s Sake
Made myself watch it after a few comments mentioned it as the the best KBL of 2024. Expectations were quite high considering the existence of Love In The Big City, so of course they weren’t met in the end. I LOVED the slice of life side of the story BUT weren’t quite on board with the game simulator idea, though the whole reason behind using it as a plot device was actually convincing. I’m not that impressed with its execution, but the thought of someone/something/some entity giving Tae Myung-Ha a second chance at life for him to learn how to properly love someone (and especially HIMSELF) is what saves this project for me. That was lovely, so definitely worth the watch.Fun fact: the whole time I was kinda rooting for Cha Yeo-Woon and Chun Sang-Won to get together, so hopefully there’s a Thai remake of this without all the sci-fi drama where they do that 😁

Best Korean BL I've seen yet
I binged Love for Love's Sake and was blown away by how good it was! The actor who plays Tae Myung did an incredible job - I loved the way he pulls the viewer into the story and brings you along for the journey through his eyes. I couldn't help but be wooed by his charm and eyes. His chemistry with the other lead was believable and sweet. You could feel his care and affection for him, and when it's returned, I just melted. I could definitely watch more of the two of them.Overall I was impressed with the story, acting and production - it's the best Korean BL I've seen to date and may be one of my favourite BLs so far! I will definitely rewatch this again.
