Racism and streotype
I dropped this drama as it is promote racism and streotype. The drama take good Korea by put a bad side of another countries. The story is a bit of delusional.I don't need racism entertainment. In the earlier episodes, the writer did not say bad about New Zealand team and focus on their game. But, when it comes to Indonesia, they talked bad and not about the game. I don't think that this drama is about badminton but more to discrimination and racism toward other nation. It is not worth to watch it.

Disrespectful and irrational.
Initially it has a good story and very interesting to watch how the team work hard. But I decided that I'm not going to watch after what happened in eps 5. The story became so cheesy with cliche scenes such as being cheated so bad by the home country. Mind you the home country is known with their reputable world class badminton team, so it become so irrational to make such exagerated plot. Off course it's a fictional drama, but it's so exagerated that it feels insulting and disrespectful. They could've just create a fictional country if they want to insult like that. Was this review helpful to you?

Study the field before making the drama
Was happy to see a drama about badminton. However, was disappointed after watched it. There were lack of input from the coach to players and mostly after I watched the episode 5, it made my heart boil. Indonesia is famous for Badminton, it may have passed its peak, but Indonesia has many achievement in badminton. The drama should not trash other country, specially if the country has such a prominent record in the Badminton field. To say that Indonesia had often cheated and gave bad treatment to other countries athletes are really unacceptable. Was this review helpful to you?
DROP THIS DRAMA AND MOVE ON TO ANOTHER
this drama starting with good vibes, but recently (eps 5) SBS or production team make something stupid, they dare to do negative depiction of Indonesian. This so dumb, SBS can do better than throwing some gas to chroal for gaining audience. The production team of SBS's TV series "Racket Boys" should apologize to the audience who took offense and remake the eps 5 as gratitude.
If you keep support this Drama than its the same you support Racism, and i belive korean people stand againts racism.

RACISM IS INTOLERABLE
This drama was so good up to 5th episode. The 5th episode made me drop this drama, as it contains disrespectful remarks towards Indonesians. The screenwriters may have not done proper research about the condition, and decided to portray other people's country so badly. Also, SBS may have not considered this issue important as no official apology statement was released. It is my deepest regret to tell that I am boycotting this drama until an official apology is issued. I know Koreans love their country so much, so does Indonesians. Even though a lot of Indonesians love Korean culture, no Indonesians would stand still when Indonesia is portrayed like this. Hope SBS would start to learn better and be careful for this issue. I would have given 8 if the 5th episode controversial dialogue did not happen. Was this review helpful to you?
Poromoting racism toward another country
this is one of the worst drama i ever seen. how they promote racism toward indonesia make me sick! why dont they make drama about how bad korean umpire in 2000 to indonesian player that make they walkout from game and make BWF step in to investigate how bad korean in badminton?! DO NOT start a mess with indonesian with untrue and racism story if you still want to have viewer and fans from here. we demand an official apologize in all indonesian national TV NOW!#ShameOnYouKorea

A decent kdrama with interesting sideplots to go with it.
I understand there might be some ifs and buts in the series since its 16 episode series and things start to get a little borring after episode 12 or so. BUT TRUST ME, the themes of friendship, teamwork, sportsmanship, family, kindness can be seen this show which you will absolutely adore. This being a sports drama also has badminton content and they do show many matches between the characters. and also I actually skipped some of the village and their scenes , their story was good but sometimes lil annoying.overall a feel-good kdrama.

Racism and Worst Drama
Racket Boys is the worst drama in the world. It consists of racism and untrue Indonesian cultures story. How the Production Team made that trash drama before doing a real observation about Indonesia. Come to Indonesia before you speak up.
The dialogues in the episode 5 showed inappropriates. Indonesians are friendly. The dialogues are unrealistics. The words were just on the writer-nim's opinions and his own points of view NOT based on the realities.
You see who has no manners?
You have to learn to accept other countries' strengths. In this case, Indonesia is the best in badminton.
So, just take down this trash drama Racket Boys.
The trash drama is NOT highly recommended to watch.

Warm and Comforting
So I literally thought that I was writing reviews for so long, but it turns out, I was writing them in the notes section (i don't know how i didn't notice). So this will be my first actual review on here, I suppose.
I heard about Racket Boys around one and a half years ago? I knew about the show, and I had heard great things, but honestly I didn't have the time to watch it. And technically, for me, this is actually the worst time for me to watch it. But I still decided some time last week to start watching it, and less than a week later, I am almost done.
There is something very charming about Racket Boys that can't really be found in other dramas, and I think that it primarily relies on the characters. They are people who you can't help but just root for: you want to see them succeed and you want more for them (2521 reference!). Hyun Jong is a perfect character in terms of how wholesome he is, and Yeong-Ja balances that perfectly with her strength and grace in a way. The five boys on the team and of course, Han-sol and Se-yoon are absolutely amazing as well: need I say more? The way that they grew together and shared each other's losses and victories, and their chemistry together was absolutely insane. I genuinely felt like they were a group of brothers, and in some way, soulmates. (Also, I can't believe that a bunch of people younger than me has a more romantic life than me TT. But it's okay, because the romance is so cute).
There was also so much care put into every single story, whether it was the main characters or the villagers or the coaches: every single character had a story to share. One of the ones that I personally liked the most was the city couple's: finding out why they moved was shocking (:O) , but seeing them grow and find more love around them made me so happy.
And of course, the music was amazing as well! It made me so giddy every time I heard the main theme when the kids were playing matches. The matches were already perfectly captured, but they became more enthralling with the music.
Overall, it's amazing!! A definite watch. I wish I had watched it when it aired, because apparently season 2 of Hospital Playlist was also airing this same time, and I think I would have genuinely found the secret to true happiness if I had watched these shows simultaneously.

Controversial Drama
At first I was happy to know that there were films about badminton like Racket Boys. However, now I hate Racket Boys for being a lousy film, bragging about themselves, and demeaning others. It is better to stop showing this film immediately than to cause further problems. The crux of the problem is that this film did not use good research beforehand which resulted in an irrelevant and controversial film. There is no good intention on the part of the filmmakers to confirm the mistakes that occurred. Insolent film. Was this review helpful to you?
The drama lead bad opinion about other country
The drama lead bad opinion about other coutry. They can be good without belittle other country. But it seem not a big deal for production crew or even korean. No proper apologize. So drop it.It seem the writer not a big fan of sport or shallow minded person.

Drama Racket Boy insulting other countries
In Episode 5 it was very disappointing because it harassed the country when, there were a lot of fans from that country. The scene was made carelessly without considering the good relations between the two countries. The market share of Korean dramas in Indonesia is large, but this drama is actually embarrassing for Indonesia. This drama is fictitious but the depiction is really outrageous, As a viewer, I don't respect the drama maker because it's considered embarrassing. SBS as making the drama didn't even apologize sincerely, and truthfully. so that makes the audience disappointedWas this review helpful to you?
