Fangs of Fortune Episode 17 Reactions
This episode was remarkable and truly heartbreaking, and it made me question so many things…What makes someone evil? Is evil something that already exists inside a person, or is it something shaped by circumstances, choices, and the struggles they go through? And then I kept thinking about Zhao Yuanzhou. During the Blood Moon, he absorbs all the hatred, anger, and negative emotions of the demons. All of that darkness overwhelms him until he completely loses control of himself. He isn't consciously choosing to hurt people. He isn't even fully aware of what he's doing. And when the Blood Moon ends and he comes back to himself, he's horrified by what happened. He knows people died because of him, so he punishes himself and carries that guilt. But then I kept asking myself: how can we ask him to regret something he didn't consciously choose to do?To regret something morally, don't we first have to be aware of what we're doing? To know that it's wrong, choose to do it anyway, and then feel remorse afterward? So what does guilt mean when someone wasn't conscious and had no control over their own actions? That's what made this episode so heartbreaking for me. The consequences are real, and the people who lost someone have every right to be hurt and angry. But at the same time, Zhao Yuanzhou wasn't consciously choosing those actions. And that's what left me with the biggest question: if someone loses their consciousness and free will, where does their moral responsibility begin and end?

as Zhu Yan wakes up from the blood moon malicious energy spell only to find he's once again committed a very bad thing. Some really good conversations. Ms. Pei and her dead brother are kind of the perfect people to console Wei Xiao since they were faced with similar difficult emotional conflict. And Zhou really stepped up from his usual lummox brain self to prod the massively depressed Zhu Yan with the challenge to stop giving up and wanting to die but instead to proactively make amends. Like others, I'm still frustrated with how useless the show has made Wei Xiao's character so far. And where the heck did Bai Jiu pick plums when they are up on a snowy mountain?

Mountain God stepped up. Baize Goddess sat and watched everyone fight and she just cried. I hope it gets better. So far it’s ok. I am watching for Hou Minghao only.

The unraveling of Zhao Yuan Zhou's dark path had been an extremely painful journey. It made my heart break for him during this episode. Sadness clouded all over him, the last scene when he smiled very sadly from a distant watching them hugged one another while he is left alone. Neo's portrayal of sadness and dilemma in this revelation of the truth had me burst in buckets of tears.
