A Must Watch! One of the best Fantasy dramas I have ever watched!
Just finished watching it! It was the best Wuxia and fantasy drama I have ever watched. I love all of the team members. I lived for the comedy moments, they could even make me laugh through my tears due to sad events. Even though the ending was sad, it was so well done and epic that I would watch this whole drama many times. The extra episode picked up where the drama left off and made me happy. It's one of the dramas that will stay in my heart forever! I highly recommend it 👌Was this review helpful to you?

Don't watch it for the story
I was really excited for the drama but it was a little dissapointing story wiseBut the casting is good
Also world building is nice and the vfx stuff is also good
And the best part is the song
Like I love how they have used the concept of each genreation of the greatest demon and the goddess are actually lovers but when it comes to our leads they have shown very less romantic scenes like I get that romance is not the main prt but still
Also I was expecting the zhu yan to be really storng but like overall he was a lil bit dissapointing to me
I mean the drama is good to watch but it wasn't that creative like they have done a nice work in world building and all that wilderness and baize goddess stuff but it could have been better

A MASTERPIECE OF SUSPENSE, BONDS, AND RESILIENCEThis drama is more than just a supernatural tale it’s a beautifully crafted story that draws you in with its perfect blend of suspense, action, and humor. From the very first episode, the intriguing plot and seamless balance between intense moments and heartfelt character interactions keep you captivated.
One of the drama’s biggest strengths is its cast. Every actor delivered stellar performances, bringing their characters to life in a way that felt authentic and deeply moving. The group’s chemistry was undeniable, and their evolving relationships made the story all the more compelling. You could feel their struggles, triumphs, and unwavering loyalty as they joined forces to face otherworldly threats.
The humor was another standout element. The comedic moments didn’t just provide relief from the tension they also revealed the humanity of the characters and strengthened their bonds, making the emotional scenes hit even harder.
The OST (original soundtrack) was absolutely stunning. Each track perfectly complemented the mood, enhancing every scene, whether it was a high-stakes confrontation or a quiet, emotional moment. The music stayed with me long after the final episode, elevating the drama’s overall impact.
In the end, this drama wasn’t just about battling demons it was about resilience, friendship, and finding hope even in the darkest times. A thrilling, emotional, and unforgettable journey, this is a masterpiece that deserves to be experienced.

A Spellbinding Masterpiece: Fangs of Fortune Delivers Unforgettable Performances
As a fan of fantasy, suspense, and adventure, Fangs of Fortune delivers everything I love and more. It's easily the best drama to grace our screens this year, capturing all the elements that make for an unforgettable experience. The cast, both male and female, are delivering exceptional performances, bringing their characters to life in such a spectacular and flawless manner. The chemistry among the cast is palpable, with their interactions making each moment engaging. The villains are brilliantly portrayed, cunning and powerful, heightening the stakes and adding layers of complexity to the challenges the main characters face. The beauty and talent of the actors and actresses only enhance the drama's allure, making it even more captivating.
The romance between Wen and ZYZ is beautifully complicated yet utterly heartwarming, while the friendship between ZYC and ZYZ evolves from enemies to true brothers, warming my heart every time. Their progression is a testament to the writing and acting. The dynamic between LiLun and ZYZ is another highlight, full of mystery and intrigue, unfolding slowly but surely. The backstories of all the characters are fascinating, keeping you invested in learning more about their pasts, their choices, and their emotions. The bromance and sismance moments are equally delightful adorable, bittersweet, funny, and full of excitement.
What truly impressed me, however, was the performance of Tian Jia Rui, particularly his portrayal of Zhuo Yi Chen and his dual role as Fake Zhuo Yi Chen. His acting skills are truly remarkable, and I was absolutely captivated by his portrayal of Zhuo Yi Chen. Every scene felt so authentic, with his expressions and body language bringing the character to life in an incredible way. Tian mastered both the subtle moments and the intense ones, adding so many layers to Zhuo Yi Chen that I found myself drawn into the story. His ability to convey complex emotions made every scene memorable, and it’s clear he put so much heart into the role. Watching him perform was a genuine pleasure, and I’m already excited to see his future projects.
In addition, his portrayal of Fake Zhuo Yi Chen was equally impressive. This character demanded a different kind of energy deceptive, manipulative, and often darker. Tian's ability to seamlessly transition between these two roles, with Fake Zhuo Yi Chen embodying the opposite qualities of the true character, showcased his impressive range as an actor. The contrasts were stark, yet both roles felt equally compelling, and Tian made each one distinct from the other.
Tian Jia Rui also looked absolutely ethereal as Lord Bing Yi, embodying a regal and stoic presence that instantly captured the attention of the audience. His portrayal of Lord Bing Yi was a masterstroke, bringing a sense of majesty, wisdom, and inner turmoil to the character. His calm, commanding demeanor radiated authority, yet there was a subtle vulnerability that Tian conveyed with such precision, making Lord Bing Yi both captivating and deeply human. The actor's ability to balance these two extremes of his character, graceful yet burdened, was a testament to his talent and made his portrayal of Lord Bing Yi unforgettable.
The storytelling is captivating, with each twist and turn of the plot adding new layers to the mystery. The way past events are revealed, tying into the current storylines, is brilliant and keeps the suspense high. The gorgeous costumes, stunning cinematography, beautiful fight choreography, and impressive sound and visual effects only enhance the drama’s immersive experience. The OSTs are equally moving, adding an emotional depth to the entire show.
Overall, I am completely in love with this drama and wish it would never end. I am savoring every moment of this thrilling, satisfying experience. The pace is just right neither too slow nor too fast and every episode leaves me eagerly anticipating the next. I truly hope viewers give this drama a fair chance and watch it all the way through to the end. It’s a masterpiece that should not be missed.

Where demons bleed love, and mortals ache with truth.
This drama is a storm of everything—funny, serious, tragic, healing. Every moment carved itself into my heart. The OSTs, the acting, the gorgeous visuals, the blazing VFX, the fierce action, the jaw-dropping costumes—chef’s kiss. But what really hooked me? The emotions. The friendships. The soul-deep sorrow wrapped in loyalty and second chances.I loved how this story painted pain without shame, and love without limits. Everyone carried scars. Everyone had sins. But still—they learned to see the good in each other, to forgive, to trust, to choose love over fate.
Zhao Yuanzhou, my broken-hearted, misunderstood demon… The Great White Ape with a soul softer than starlight. Everyone teased him, yet no one saw how much he was crumbling inside. He was always there to protect, to endure, to not hurt anyone… yet in return, he was cast out, blamed, left alone in pain. Watching him break down, saying he wanted to die, punishing himself with lightning, all because of guilt that wasn’t even his fault—I just wanted to reach into the screen and hold him. When everyone hugged… and left him out after Ying Lei’s grandfather died?
That one moment wrecked me. He didn’t need much—just someone to stay. Just one person to say “you’re not a monster.”
And Zhuo Yichen—his soulmate. Even though Yuanzhou killed his brother and father, Yichen stayed. That’s not forgiveness, that’s faith. Yichen’s stupidity? Iconic. His righteousness? Admirable. His loyalty? Unshakeable. Their bond—demon and human-turned-demon—was peak bromance. The way Yuanzhou flirts, the way Yichen cares for Bai Jiu, the way he stands tall even when the world throws dirt on his name… pure poetry. The pain of being hated by the city he protected? His ancestor Bingyi’s shadow trailing behind him? That cut deep.
And Bai Jiu—demon, god, and human in one messy, lovable form. He made me laugh, then betray me, then cry for him. His clingy sweetness. His heartbreak. His guilt. His mother’s story still hurts. And when he teased Zhu Yan and admired Yichen? Adorable.
Li Lun, the lonely Pagoda Tree… A being who loved demons and wilderness with all his heart. He carried pain like petals in the wind—soft, silent, ever-present. His friendship with Zhu Yan… their mutual care masked by "enemy" labels? Too precious. They never let go of each other, not truly. They held onto the gifts—the umbrella and the rattle drum—even when they pretended to be foes.
And when Wen Xiao destroyed the drum, and Li Lun’s eyes lost their light? I sobbed. All he wanted was for the umbrella to come from Zhu Yan, not Ao Yin. That one small hope crushed me.
And Ying Lei—the mischievous mountain god-demon. The way everyone picked on him affectionately? Hilarious. But when his grandfather died? The grief in his eyes hit like thunder. Still, he stood strong. He believed in Yichen when it mattered most.
Li Lun’s return was bittersweet—he came back, but then clashed with Yichen. When Yichen’s Cloud Light Sword shattered? That sound echoed like a scream through the clouds. But hearing Yichen say “I understand you now” to Yuanzhou? Tears.
And when he said he’d regret killing Yuanzhou? When he refused to repair the sword, because he didn’t want him to die? I was done.
"From wanting revenge… to pleading with trembling hands, just to save someone he once hated—It wasn’t hatred anymore. It was fear. Fear of loss. Fear of living with guilt. Fear of being alone again.”
And Yuanzhou—always ready to take the pain. To sacrifice everything, even his life, just to save Yichen from being frozen. Wen Xiao didn’t matter. Only Yichen did.
It hurt to hope, and it hurt even more to remember—but they came back. Yichen and Yuanzhou. Alive, breathing, together. But the past never truly lets go, does it? History repeated itself like a cruel echo—just as Bingyi and Ying Long were torn apart by fate, so too were Zhao Yuanzhou and Zhuo Yichen bound to the same tragedy. Zhu Yan became Ying Long—sacrificing himself for the world. Yichen became Bingyi—forced to lift his own hand against the person he loved most.
Bingyi and Ying Long’s story? Divine and devastating. A friendship so profound, it glowed brighter than any deity. Ying Long, forging the Cloud Light Sword from his own dragon bones and horns… Bingyi, refusing to kill ying long, and ying long killing himself with the cloud light sword so that bingyi doesn't have to bear the guilt of killing his bestfriend...heartbreaking. They were ethereal, celestial, doomed.
And Wen Xiao... watching everyone she loved disappear—“My master (Zhao Wan’er), my best friend (Zhou Yichen), my beloved (Zhao Yuanzhou).” Her grief was like moonlight—quiet, cold, and cutting. The way she hit Yuanzhou for leaving her? That hurt more than any blade.
Even the comic relief twisted the knife in a soft way.
Yichen patting his stomach: “I think I have it now,” and everyone thought he was pregnant 🤣—but nope, just got his inner core back.
Then the fake betrayal… Ying Lei and Pei Sijing saying Bai Jiu was more important than Yuanzhou, just to push Yichen… And Yichen, bless him, defending Yuanzhou like a knight: "If you want his inner core, fight me first." He was fooled, but we weren’t—his loyalty was too real. Yuanzhou losing all his demonic power to repair the Cloud Light Sword? That loss was unspoken… but thunderous.
Li Lun... oh, Li Lun 😭 So lonely. So pitiful. So beautiful in his brokenness. All he had was Ao Yin, and she sacrificed herself for him. Yuanzhou begged Yichen not to kill him. Instead, he helped Li Lun's inner core return to his pagoda tree—so he might live again, 100 years from now, as a human. A second chance…One last hope for a boy born from tragedy.
Ying Lei’s death shattered Yichen. Watching him cry, trying to hold on—too late.
And that dream sequence, after they were poisoned? A fantasy of warmth, of family, of everyone gathered together… only to turn into a nightmare where Yichen is left utterly alone.
Li Lun pausing his own cultivation to save them... giving half his demonic power to Yichen, half to Zhu Yan. That moment where their powers merged on Zhu Yan’s body? Glorious. Terrifying. Beautiful.
And then... Bai Jiu burned away. Just like that. Gone.
Yichen stabbing Yuanzhou himself—“I’ll carry the guilt. I’ll carry the pain. Just don’t make me live in regret like Bingyi.” Yuanzhou didn’t resist. He just looked into Yichen’s eyes… until his last breath. Then he was gone. But not really. He said he’d return as rain. And he did. The rain fell gently. And there was Yichen—standing in it,
drenched, silent, waiting for the only person who could never return.
A goodbye I wasn’t ready for.
The final battle tore my heart to shreds. Ying Lei, Heng, Bai Jiu, Li Lun, and Zhao Yuanzhou… all gone, like fading stars after the storm. The Demon Hunting Bureau now stands quieter—with only Zhou Yichen, Wen Xiao, and Pei Sijing left to carry the legacy. But the memory of Zhu Yan’s sacrifice still echoes through Tiandu like a song everyone remembers but no one dares to hum out loud.
That final sword technique—Cloud Leading—was everything. Just a small fragment of Yuanzhou’s soul, a flicker of hope, and Yichen searched every inch of the mortal realm and wilderness for it. And in the end… that soul found its way home.

One Word Spell: WATCH
This drama is no ordinary drama. Not one that you can just watch on the side. It's hard to put into words what the drama really is. So many times it just seems out of this world. Every scene is masterfully realised and the cinematography is breathtaking. Every frame emphasises the tone of the scene or creates a very special atmosphere. The drama takes the viewer on a journey, if they allow themselves to. We experience the joy of friendship, the deep bond between siblings, the pain of remorse and guilt, the anger of betrayal, the danger in passion, the heavy burden of loneliness, the faint spark of hope for a different and better future, the struggle against one's own nature and the overcoming of prejudice. We feel the sweet bitterness of love. Not only romantic love, but also the pure, untainted love between soul mates. And we have to endure the sad power of sacrifice.Every character in this drama is complex and multi-layered and there is no real good or evil. Every character has their skeletons in the closet and that makes them tangible. For me, the drama plays a lot with the theme of what good or evil means. If the goal is good, if you do it for the greater good, does that really give you the right to use any means, even if they are cruel? It questions morality many times and makes you think. Each of the antagonists has understandable reasons for their actions and I often asked myself how I would have reacted if I had been in their shoes.
Everyone's acting performance was absolutely impressive. If you look at the performance of Lester Lin, who later played two such contrasting characters, Bai Jiu and Li Liun, at just 13 years old - wow. Just wow.
Everyone, really everyone, embodied their role so well that every emotion was not only visible but palpable. Something that not everyone manages to do.
I think it will take a few more days before I have digested the emotional ending, but in my heart I will never forget this drama. It will always have that special place.

A JOURNEY OF REDEMPTION AND HEARTFELT CONNECTIONSThis drama weaves a captivating tale of love, redemption, and personal growth, centering on the lives of its flawed yet endearing characters. What I truly admired was how the story focused on their journey and the pivotal choices they made. Some decisions, driven by their inability to let go of the past, caused pain—even to those they cherished most. Yet, the beauty of this narrative lies in how these characters grew, changed, and sought to right their wrongs once they understood the weight of their mistakes.
The chemistry between the main couples was undeniable, bringing a raw authenticity to their scenes. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the drama subtly leaned into a queer narrative, which added layers of depth and nuance to the relationships. Every actor brought their A-game; their performances were not just convincing but deeply resonant. I found myself unable to choose a favorite character each one, from the leads to the supporting cast, brought something unique to the story.
Chen Duling’s portrayal of Wenxiao was mesmerizing her emotive range reminded me why I’ve admired her since TTEOM. Neo Hou's performance as Zhu Yan was equally remarkable, exuding depth and emotional vulnerability. Even young Lester Lin’s transformation from the cold and menacing Li Lun to a character with an evolving arc was a testament to his talent.
Fangs of Fortune left a profound impact on me. Its exploration of family, teamwork, and the consequences of our choices felt deeply meaningful. The slower pacing allowed the narrative to breathe, and the emotionally charged dialogues brought an added layer of richness to the story. The heartbreaking ending was a fitting culmination to this beautifully crafted journey, leaving me in awe of the storytelling and the incredible cast.

A devastatingly beautiful story of two soulmates that happened to be MLs
This story...either purposefully or accidently, ended up being a completely different story than it orignally appears to be. What I thought would be a supernatural romance turned out to be a heartbreaking supernatural bromance. Brotherhood. Soulmates. Whatever you call it, the two male leads' bond surpassed all others intended for this story. But let's start with why the average rating...
If this was a visual arts competition, it would surely win first place. The visuals of this series are GORGEOUS. I don't think I have seen a single cringe visual effect. I thought I've seen gorgeous (Love Between Fairy and Devil) but this story took the crown by FAR.
The music in the series also really grew on me and I now have several OST in my playlist. It has some very powerful tracks for fighting scenes and also hauntingly beautiful BGM for sad scenes.
The cast was beautiful. Each character (and even each character's different counterpart) had a very specific and gorgeously styled outfit, hairdo and makeup. The costume team really outdid themselves here.
But as far as acting goes, I feel like more times than not, the aestethics helped them look a certain way rather than their own range of acting skills. Not saying their acting is lacking, but with how much artificial help they got to enchance a certain "mood" I can't properly distinguish between the effects and their acting skills.
For example, in what seems every episode, the characters would cry that one beautiful bead of crystal tear that rolls down their cheek in a close-up camera work. When done in moderation, that thing is beautiful, but when it's overdone (and in this story every character basically) it really starts to lose its impact. They looked gorgeous in their miserable state though...
Overall, from the cast Neo Hou, Tian Jia Rui, Yan An and (coming out as a surprise) Lester Lin were the best part. Their characters had the most impact, diversity and growth (in my personal opinion). It's very hard to judge Chen Du Ling's performance in this because there was something very lacking with her character that seemed too one-dimensional and a damsel in distress.
The plot....it's drowning in misery. The storyline, the idea of it, initially, was very good and rather compelling. There are demons, gods and humans. There are sacred artifacts and rules for their worlds. The visuals of the supernatural powers are vast and gorgeous, so at first glance the story seemed to have a lot of potential. But the execution of it was much to be desired... Starting from the beginning, the scenes were all over the place - people would cry, laugh, be comedic and serious all in a span of few minutes and it'd keep going. I couldn't tell what "mood" the story wanted to set. Somewhere mid-way the impending doom for one character or another seemed to be not only the main but the ONLY driving story point. Death and self-sacrifice, when used right, can be a powerful way of telling a story, but here it was passed around like a dodge ball, losing its intended impact.
The romance. Or lack of. Unfortunately til the end I found it hard to root for the main couple. It felt like we were TOLD that they love each other through certain plot aspects, but there was not much substance. Zhao Yuan Zhou (the ML)'s character is lonely and craves closeness, so if anything, the romance with FL feelt like a dream for normalicy rather than true bond. His other bonds (mostly brotherhood) run that much deeper. The ML had incredibly more chemistry with the SML, not to mention their storyline had SO MUCH MORE substance. It had growth, natural banter, warmth and heartbreak. THEIR STORY is the one that brought me to tears. Ultimately, they were the power couple of the series.
Part of me would have loved to see FL be a young kid that the two ML's unoficially adopted. I feel like her presence in the series wouldn't have changed much, and the ML's protectiveness would come out more naturally.
Overall, this story has aspects of it that are worth watching. The stunning visuals, music and the heartbreaking connection between the two MLs. But I would not recommend it for FL x ML romance. And not if you're not into a slow-paced melancholy mood storyline.

A beautiful cinematography but lacks essence
Visually, it’s a gorgeous drama but there was just something missing. Like I started watching because of the premise; a great demon wanting to die but meet people who might convince him to live. It started that way but turned into a crying fest along the way. It’s like every episode someone has to cry. And maybe that’s the direction the directors wanted to go with the drama. Maybe they just wanted to tug at our heartstrings. From episode 29 even with tears in my eyes, the only thing I could do was laugh.Firstly, Ying lei is supposed to be a mountain god; part demon and part god. How the hell did he die from those wounds? Like how!!! And please don’t say that li Lun roots went through his heart or something…. And then everyone just stood there watching. I mean fine, the poison acted on wen xiao so she couldn’t do anything. Why was pei sijing just there holding her instead of helping ying lei?? And xiao zhou was the next one…. I thought he’s good at fighting or holding his own…. He saw the roots coming towards him and just waited for ying lei to push him out of the way….. So you’re telling me that he hit the ground so hard that it took him so long to get back up?? Plus they had a sword and a knife and just stood there watching the roots coming towards them?? My gosh!!! And I’m sorry to say but I really had to laugh that whole scene of ying lei dying……
Secondly, it’s like going from a good fighting scene where the drama picks up back to a crying fest. At first I didn’t like li Lun because of his actions but his sacrifice redeemed himself in my eyes. I actually cried with his and bai jiu’s deaths. Like I can understand why Bai Jiu died and the circumstances under which he died but I still cannot understand how ying lei died. And why do people just disappear from each scene….. like pei sijing and bai jiu were both together but when bai jiu was dying, where was pei sijing?
FOF is beautifully made but that alone isn’t good enough. Some persons might enjoy it but I would have like things to make sense; at least to some degree. Like the last set of episodes had scenes that weren’t connecting. Like during the fighting scenes, zhou yi Chen had his sword pointing towards the doctor guy and in the next second, this sword isn’t being pointed at the guy. And this happened in multiple scenes.
I wasn’t expecting a happy ending but I continued to watch until the end although I had to fast forward sometimes.
But what I did like was the ost. Lui yuning once again delivered and it shows why he sings most of the ost for various dramas. I also liked that ZYC finally understand what ZYZ was going through and saw that he didn’t have a choice of what happens when he gets controlled by the malicious energy. But I would have liked to see the others apologize to ZYZ since they easily forgave Bai Jiu for his deception.
It’s been a rollercoaster and now I’m onto my next journey.
