He Lian Xi brings back the sacred tree amber from Yongzhao, believed to cure all illnesses. Xi Jiu suddenly shows up and seizes it, saying he would stay and protect Feng Yuan. It turns out that he has found out about the palace coup of Yongzhao three years ago. There may be an irreconcilable enmity between Yongzhao and Linchuan. He worries that when Feng Yuan regains her memory, He Lian Xi will kill her once he gets what he wants. Feng Yuan, on the other hand, realizes that He Lian Xi is a soft-hearted man.
