JBLs centered around gay characters with past traumas, who have given up on the idea of seriously loving anyone. Then they meet carefree classmates their age who helps them heal and grow. Both are short mini-series focused on gay romance set against the seaside. Visually arresting cinematography, impactful acting, and strong soundtracks/osts.

Storylines are sweet and light, they don't have much drama going on. Both, Diew and Amane have had an unpleasant experience from their past they reflect on. Bonus points for height difference.

Ootani and Tachibana have been inseparable since high school. Now that they're in college, they live together, they're happy and everything seems perfect. But their little world is disrupted when they meet an old high school friend, Yuki, who seems to have a crush on Tachibana, making Ootani feel jealous and insecure. In both of these series a high schoolboy comes to live on an island and falls in love with a local boy. The main character in both has some kind of painful past or insecurities to work through while opening up to a new romance. The island setting and mood of these series feel similar.

Very similar vibes, gentle stories about innocent and pure love affection. Pace and conclusion are similar, with open endings, positive in both cases. For me jbls are top, the time of fever being kbl is outshining the majority of korean bls

I think they are similar cause both have that "summer/spring" vibe, both have a school setting even through IIWY is set in high school and IHS is set in uni and they are both are lgbtq+.
