The Loyal Pin Episode 10 Reactions
After a cute scene upon their return to the palace and about driving lessons (shouldn’t Pin know how to drive?), we get right to the fallout from last episode. Kuekiat of course noticed the ring on her right hand, and he’s on the right track about Pin being taken, he talks about her first with Prince Anon and then with Princess Patt – who hadn’t noticed the ring till then – Pin admits that it was a gift from Anin (I didn’t think she would come up with any lie that sounds credible), but Patt wants her to take if off her right finger, as that would signify she’s taken.
We do not see, however, how this conversation ends – because we get into a flashback of Patt’s past, who had a Princess of her own called Arbhanumas. She was her personal attendant, and much more – she even got a beautiful ring from her. But she was apparently sick, and died suddenly in her sleep, leaving behind a heartbroken Patt (who then never married herself). So, she should know exactly what is going on with Lady Pin and Princess Anin.
We get back to Pin, who is with Anin, and the ring. She tells her that Pitt is (rightfully) suspicious. She allows her to take off the ring or put it an her other hand, but Pin plain out refuses, as she gave it to her – she will never take it off. Well, the pilot for the show would suggest differently … Anin promises to find a solution.
Then, Patt talks to Kuekiat again, who at least has noticed that Lady Pin doesn’t like him all that much – I think that’s an understatement, bit I’ll take it. Patt says she wouldn’t force Pin, but will do everything to entice him to her. Argl…
Prik gets a ring from Anin – a noticeable one; she sends her off to implement her plan. Patt notices her ring, of course, and Prik tell her that it’s a gift from Anin who wants to mark her as taken for other people so that she doesn’t run off and get married. A clever ruse, but it only works because Prince Anan defuses the situation excusing this as one of her sister’s quirks.
This in turn raises Anin’s suspicions. She goes and talks to her brother asking him right away about him knowing about Pin and her. He plays dumb only for a second, before admitting that he knows, but chose to remain silent – because he could never stop her anyway, as it’s love. ❤ But he cautions her that not everyone will share his opinion on the matter. She should start preparing for her master’s degree now and spend lees time with Pin, so that Patt will not get suspicious again. Patt should be ally #1 for Pin and Anin, but I somehow doubt that will happen.
At night, Pin gets a paper plane through her window; it’s from Anin and it tells her to wait for the Princess as she will make herself scarce due to her studies. We get a few funny bits of rather obvious pantomime from the two (doesn’t anyone ever walk outside at night?).
Then, again my least favourite caption “Many days later”...
A lonely Pin bring supper to the Princess who hasn’t returned yet (the – untranslated – caption says “dumplings”, according to Google Translate). She tells Prik to go ahead and it the dish, and vents her frustration about not have seen Anin for many weeks now. Prik goes to town on the food Pin brought to the Pine palace, as Anin gets home and is annoyed that Prik is eating the food that was made for her by Pin, and not for the first time apparently, as she has gone to bed hungry quite often. Prik promises to do everything for her in return – and she sends her as an envoy to Pin with a note, but the text “I am home. I haven’t seen you for many days.” doesn’t do the trick, as Pin just sends a note back reading “It’s good that you are back. But does it have anything to do with me?” Prik is sent back to Pin with a reply “Of course it does. I miss you so much that my heart aches”. Okay, Anin has got the better game in this passive-aggressive text ping-pong – but Pin (though moved by this note) chooses to leave this one unanswered. Anin is at first worried that Prik did not bring a reply this time – but then she smiles her devious smile, and suddenly, I am worried – and Prik is too. Soon thereafter, Pin appears at the Pine Palace, furious. She’s really mad at Anin, but not because she hasn’t seen her for weeks, but because she sent Prik over – to kiss Pin on the cheek! She even suggests Prik kiss Anin to make it even – she really must have a death wish. Anin kisses Pin – now that’s she’s three – to make up for it, but Pin suggests there might be a way to get her to forgive her faster. Cue the sexy time again!
Pin spends this night with Anin. The next day Lady Aon visits her, reiterating her feelings for Anin which a reignited after almost downing in Hua Hin. Anin claims once again that such a relationship is impossible – but Aon her seen her and Pin kissing, and thus knows that this is quite possible. She blackmails Anin: either break up with Pin, or she will spill the secret in a newsletter or something.😉
Well, apart from that final scene, that was a surprisingly drama-free episode. My favourite bit was the – way too short – flashback, followed by the silly note-sending, and I also must commend Prince Anon for keeping the secret. But Aon will be tougher to handle; of course, Anin won’t break up with Pin, but I’m interested to see where this is going.
I find Pia still largely unnecessary – she eats not as much as Prik 😉, but so far, she serves no purpose that Prik couldn’t cover herself.
