You Are Desire is one of those rare youth dramas that feels both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Zhuang Dafei’s performance is absolutely outstanding – natural, sincere, and full of emotion. She perfectly captures the struggles, dreams, and tenderness of youth, making her character deeply relatable.

The chemistry between the leads feels genuine and pulls you into their world. The storyline isn’t just about love, but also about friendship, growth, and the bittersweet reality of life. What makes it special is its simplicity – no over-the-top drama, just pure emotions that touch the heart.

The ending may feel incomplete, but that only shows how much viewers got invested in the story. It leaves you wishing for more – a Season 2 to continue their journey

What was the point?

So this one episode was 24 minutes long and I wasn’t expecting much and it truly delivered on that.

We got a little bit of resolution from a couple of the couples and the other side characters who are all planning to do their best and work hard, et cetera, et cetera.

However…………

FL still hasn’t bothered to tell the ML that she’s got a job in her hometown and is utterly burying her head in the sand when he’s given her ample opportunity to tell him herself.

When she eventually does, we get this weird, poetic monologue from both of them that doesn’t make any sense and they’re standing at the top of the Lighthouse watching the sea as the credits role.

What a waste of time.
