Unnecessary drama as is common in BL shows but still tolerable(?)

This particular episode's plot is when you can tell author tried to sneak in their fantasies about wanting to create conflict, while building relationship and also dress up characters in silly outfits.
But to be honest, while OG!Apo may be an art major, our fake!Apo is not. So throwing an event at him and expecting him to organize it is as the fact that someone can literally read your thoughts. Ik he has worked many jobs, but a 100 year anniversary party is actually a huge deal, and even he admits he has never organised anything like this.
To add on top of this: he decides to please his mother-in-law so much that he is okay with ditching his actual fiance.
The side-couple was doin their thing, but the chemistry is not as good as the main couple, feels rather forced at times.
None the less, the kissing and almost bed scene where one person is literally wearing a tomato costume is pretty funny if nothing else.

My lord

I am a sucker for slow dancing scenes and I’m low-key so obsessed with this show. I just have been locked in today so I hadn’t had the time to watch it. But I like this connecting moment with the fact he works at like the mart in the real world and in this world, he’s the son of the CEO of the mart. and they mentioned that a while ago, but I really like that full circle moment in the show. Oh my mama, we done outdid ourselves again I’ll be double doggy style motherfucking damn where we learn how to kiss like this huh? Tongue all down his motherfucking throat. Oh God, crazy shout out chain gang. 9.5/10 I will be holding my balls waiting for the next episode. Okay bye!

The essence of the plot: would you want to be seen as someone else?

This episode had me screeching, crying and sweating (in this order).

Poor Popthorn has to apologize to - what feels like - everyone. Apo was a very self-centered being so he made a lot of people angry. Unfortunately our sweet soul Popthorn is not so self-centered and not very confident.

The whole Plot of “Me and Who” or how it’s called in Thai “The Fake Po” (don’t come at me, it is close to this) boils down to the question:
If you have to live another persons life - how long could you endure it?
If no one sees you for who you really are, what does it to you?
And if the person you are stepping in for is so different than you are - does it break you or can you cope with it?

Popthorn puts in the work: he plans, organizes, comes up with amazing and/or cute ideas for the company event. Yet, in the end, no one seems to acknowledge him for who he is. They all had put him in the nice little “Apo”-Box where is kept safe and sound and most important, hidden, because he has changed and no one can see this as he is hidden in this (metaphorical) box.

Not only is this extremely frustrating for him but for all of us who have changed ourselves to the better and have not been seen or acknowledged by the people around us. I can relate so much with him, still having the phrases of friends or family in my ears “that is just a phase”, “you really think you can keep this up” or similar things.

I am not spoiling the end of this episode but I am extremely happy that it is close to the book as this is something we all deserve and many people are yearning for.

I hope there is someone in your life that sees you for who you really are. 🥺

Yea, well… 10/10 for this episode, despite the cringy massage-scene because Park even delivered that scene.
Not to mention the ending that made me give some extra points…
