Love Next Door

엄마 친구 아들 ‧ Drama ‧ 2024
"Meet Again". Here We Meet Again and Love Next Door is similar because in both dramas FL and ML met again after years of separation. In Here We Meet Again, Xu Yan Shi and Xiang Yuan used to be high school friends back in the days, they eventually got separated and met again after years. I think it's similar to Love Next Door's. After all, two friends did meet again in both dramas after becoming full fledge adults.

Similar type of fluff. ML like FL since forever, FL likes someone else but then likes ML after something happens. Similar bickering. FL family in both work in some restaurant.

Similar feel to drama but different plotlines.

Though there’s an age gap in Hidden love, the premise is still of 2 people who’ve spent their early lives in a friendly borderline sibling relationship uncovering/developing feelings for each other in their adulthood. Watching the shift in their dynamics gives a similar heartwarming feeling in both. The ost, color palette and lowkey slice of life vibe are well done in both

Both have leads that knew each other in childhood/youth and and meet again as adults in a romance.
In both the FL returns to her hometown, where she meets the ML again.

Good casting in both too!

30 years of friendship to lovers stories
Writing full of wit
Great relationship between the leads and evident chemistry...

Hoping for LND to be as good as 9E2O to recommend in more detail...

- Both dramas include a love story revolving around childhood sweethearts.
- The parents of the leads are neighbors/ friends in both dramas.
- The leads are very competitive and bicker with each other in both dramas.

If you like one, you'll most definitely like the other.

Similarities:
- Main leads are childhood best friends
- ML has liked the FL for a long time but is too scared to admit it
- FL has trouble in her career, so the ML helps her
- Close proximity helps develop their relationship
- Love triangle (2 guys, 1 girl)

Differences:
- LND focuses a lot more on family relationships as well as romantic ones and has a more full plot with side characters that have their own story (like the main character's parents, the other bsf, and her brother) because it has 16 episodes whereas S#1 only has 4
- Soundtrack is more of a fluffy romance without much drama, but LND has a lot more plot twists and other factors to their relationships that cause a lot of delay

I personally loved both of them, but I will say that if you like shorter plots that get to the point faster and don't run you through a mix of emotions, then you should watch Soundtrack. But if you like seeing a secondary couple and also seeing the main lead's family and friends and seeing a more realistic approach to romance, then LND is your best fit. Hope this helps!

when I watched love next door it reminded me of family by choice immediately. they both have similar plot and dynamics
- meet one other after a long time (FL and ML)
- quite second lead scenes
- childhood friends
- FL and ML having a love-hate relationship
so if you liked family by choice definitely watch love next door

“Love Next Door” and “Run On” share several similarities, particularly in how they both explore relationships that develop gradually and focus on personal growth alongside romance. Both dramas feature characters who initially seem mismatched but slowly find common ground through meaningful conversations and shared experiences.

Additionally, the protagonists in both dramas are navigating their own struggles with career and identity, adding depth to their romantic journeys. Both series emphasize strong character development, with side characters playing significant roles in the protagonists’ lives.

What makes them particularly similar is their cosy, feel-good atmosphere, portraying modern love in a realistic and heartwarming way, while avoiding overly dramatic tropes.

Definitely recommend both! ??
