There was a discussion group to trash this discussion group for bringing up the controversy over Tencent possibly inflating the viewership numbers for PoJ. In that group, a person admitted that fans were organizing to drive up the MDL viewership rating to 9.2. But then they deleted the thread so no one can see what they did anymore.
When I tell people that the drama's Douban rating is only 6.8 they tell me antis are driving down the rating, but the same is happening here in the other direction.
The show is legit a hit even with the controversy and fan wars so it's pretty silly to fight about it.

When looking at data: CVB, CSM report and financial revenue is what matters most and considered reliable, in order to refute or correlate any heat indexes of any dramas airing on any OTT platforms (IQiyi, Youku, Tencent, Mango), otherwise easy to be misled by inflated data which has been an issue for years. Blockbusters should be lauded, not inflated and hence "created".
According to CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Association) on 28 April after rejecting Yunhe's patent attempt for the core system they use to "measure metrics" and explaining why Yunhe fails their legal and technical standards:

In the eyes of the government, Yunhe has zero credibility and zero technical authority. That is why Migu (state-owned sports channel-dominated platform) also rejected Yunhe's attempts in 2025 to obtain their data.
Yunhe cannot "de-water" or be "unbiased" to data because Yunhe's methods for data calculation pertaining to combing social media metrics and being unable to filter out bots are... Not what people in the know would use. Popularity simulation values are not actual statistical figures.
