Love between Lines Episode 26 Reactions
This was such a wonderfully written and acted episode.
The episode that everything(?) came to light. The first scene already had me in tears with the FL breaking down to her family because she can't let go of the ML. This couple really did their number on me. I absolutely love how the FL stayed on his side even after she had broken up with him amd wasn't in contact she still defended him (previous episode). Then to see the ML so broken by what happened at the Pei house and hiding himself away but of course our girl was the one to find him. And thennnn after they had their coming together our FL got kidnapped?! Like gosh cam they get a break?!
The SL, I have a special place in my heart for him and I doubt it'll happen with 2 episodes left but I need him to come around. His emotions when he found out his dad had kidnapped and endangered the FL and then him realizing that he might be very similar to his dad in that regard (given that his actions led to her dad getting hurt again). Only for them to shock us with his back filled with bruises (I HATE his dad)!! I need him to get redemption.
That final reveal at the end though. Amazing actor from the dad, I was absolutely disgusted. The way he twisted everything to push the blame from himself when it was literally HIS fault everything happened. It showed that even though 20 years had passed he was still the same man. Jaded and evil.
To add, I dislike the mother. She hasn't done good by her son the entire show. So quick to throw him under the bus and then play sad about it. Bad mom, quite useless.

This episode was love tested by fire — literally and emotionally. Xiu standing in front of her parents and admitting she cannot let go of the man she loves, no matter how hard she tries, was heartbreaking and beautiful. Yu and Xiu choose each other openly, even as investigations, accusations, and danger close in around them. Their refusal to hide when innocent felt brave and deeply earned.Yu’s love is steady and selfless. He puts her safety above his career, his reputation, even himself, and proves it again and again. The warehouse rescue was terrifying, but also a perfect reflection of who they are together — unwavering, determined, and stronger side by side. Watching them uncover the truth piece by piece felt cathartic after so much injustice. What lingered most was the contrast between chosen family and failed family. Yu never wavered in protecting Xiu, yet the people who should have protected him never truly did. This episode wasn’t just about exposing lies — it was about love that endures everything, even.

Episode 26 is where everything cracks open. The FL finally breaks down and apologises to her father — she can’t forget the ML, and she can’t live without him. Sobbing in her mother’s arms, it feels like this is the first time it truly sinks in for her father just how much pressure he’s been putting on her shoulders to ease his own guilt.
The ML, meanwhile, is left completely adrift after his conversation with his mother. He’s heartbroken and lost, and his only real solace is the snow scene in the game — it’s the one place he still feels close to his father. When the FL finds him there and tells him she can’t be without him either, it feels like the emotional reset they both desperately needed.
After a night of finally choosing each other, they part ways — she heads back to her parents, and he goes to the company — and then the drama hits hard. The FL is kidnapped and trapped in a burning building. The ML is in a deadlock with the RL’s father, but in the blink of an eye he breaks down the door and rescues the FL. Even while coughing and spluttering, she jokes that it’s just like the game — which is both funny and heartbreakingly on brand for her.
It’s also because of the FL that they’re able to find the memory card, and suddenly all the cards are in the ML’s hands. And then we get the verbal slap-down we’ve been waiting for: the RL’s father cut corners and shifted the blame onto the ML’s father. The shock on the RL and the ML’s mother’s faces says everything — their worlds have just changed forever.
I’ll be honest: they both come across a little clueless considering what’s been happening under their noses. And weirdly, I do feel for the RL. He’s battered and bruised in a way that screams “home life,” but no one seems to acknowledge it — and it’s hard not to think his father is the source of that damage too.
The truth is finally out, but it doesn’t feel like the end — it feels like the moment the real consequences begin.

This couple is so beautifully written.❤️ Xiu weeps bitterly with her parents apologizing from the depth of her soul that she cannot forget or leave the one she loves no matter how hard she tries. That she knows to look for him in the game.❤️ Their commitment to see it through in spite of everything. Pei has cast blame putting their design studio under investigation. They both agree that when innocent no need to hide. They are bravely stepping forward to claim their rightful places with each other and the world at large. He loves her more than himself and career and proves that repeatedly. A lesson his mom never learned.😝 He has taken care of the contractor’s debts except for Pei’s and he goes there in person to settle the score between them. He is blackmailed because Pei has Xiu locked in a warehouse minutes away from combusting. Xiu is quite brave but is overcome with smoke. Yu bursts in and carries her out as the flames billow around them. Together they are unstoppable. She tells him about the handwritten restock note and they uncover the needed memory card. I loved Yu’s triumph coming in right after his ‘brother’ left instructions for a bigger smear campaign. His aide/daddy spy revealed that his father had done something to Xiu. Pei is going in to corner him but hears proof she is ok. Yu starts point by point revealing the truth to include the faked text at the end. He gladly informed Pei that his dad only referred to him as Yi. Elder Pei’s ice exterior has melted and he’s folding in the sides of his sweater to protect himself. We now know that Qin was going to expose his fraud and refused to take blame. Pei Zhen is an engineer and the numbers alone tell him the definitive decrease in strength between the two grades in spite of same appearance. He is shocked at the news but not quite as much as would be expected. He has been noting how his father has been doing business. I know they are probably going to forgive the mom bla bla bla….but that she didn’t note the name used in the text or understand just how upright her husband was in life and business….that’s just a sad sorry version of who she could have been. She is lower in my books than Zhen will ever be because she should have known and recognized her real family and she didn’t. I want that reflection to stick with her. Yu never once wavered in his love and protection of her. And she never recognized her own son’s fielty.😝 Even if you remove Yu out of the equation to try to understand her, she has lived with a man for two decades that physically and verbally abused his son. She was of no help to Zhen either. To me, she utterly failed both brothers and herself. I truly have no use for her.
