Where the Mask Ends Episode 3 Reactions
Wow... Lu Zhuo is handsome! I wish he wasn't being manipulated. A Chou is so strong! She broke her own arm?!?! I was shocked. And the plot thickens, I knew that Wu maid was poisoning A Chou, she deserved to die for that. Poor Bitao has been beaten so many times😖. I'm exited to see more, the contract marriage has started!

Our girl saves his little brother, and the male lead still thinks she’s putting on an act. Then the imperial doctor confirms her injuries, and suddenly his assumptions aren’t looking quite so clever. I enjoyed that.🎭She remains my favourite because she keeps thinking on her feet. She’s trying to survive a marriage she’s been pushed into while everyone judges her for things the other woman did. It must be exhausting inheriting somebody else’s reputation.🎭The governess is horrible to the maids, and then we have the attempted poisoning. Thankfully, a caring maid helps our girl spot it, and the food gets switched. But the governess attacking her and then dropping dead? That escalated quickly.🎭Naturally, the male lead arrives at the door at exactly the wrong moment. Because finding a dead body is apparently easier than giving this girl a peaceful afternoon.🎭8/10 — another episode of quick thinking, unfair accusations and a very inconvenient corpse.

Episode 3 finally gives us something to latch onto. AChou refuses to leave and makes a "painful sacrifice" to win Lu Zhuo's trust and it's the first real sign of affection between them, even if it's wrapped in guilt and obligation . Meanwhile, a calculated plot starts brewing in the background, raising the stakes beyond just her secret identity . It's still not the most gripping watch, but the emotional shift is a welcome change from Episode 2's exposition dump. The tension between them feels less one-note now, and that makes the whole premise more believable.
