Our girl escaping another corner through sheer quick thinking had me impressed again. She keeps surviving by the skin of her teeth, and I’m enjoying watching her work out how to turn a situation around.🎭But my favourite scene? Her whacking that villain on the head after winning. Extremely satisfying. I had no complaints about that particular decision.🎭The things being said about her background make me wonder how much the male lead has worked out. He must have questions by now, surely? I’m watching his reactions, but I’m not treating suspicion as confirmation.🎭Of course, the villain brings the emperor’s brother into the situation, so now we have palace trouble. Our girl can’t resolve one problem without somebody finding a more powerful person to make the next one worse.🎭With the original’s mother also part of that world, I’m very interested in what happens when they meet.🎭9/10 — clever escapes, escalating danger and one thoroughly appreciated whack.

It's a classic "挫折回" (setback episode) that's supposed to raise the stakes, but the execution is so rushed that the emotional beats barely land .What saves it from being a total mess is the sheer audacity of the rescue. The show leans hard into its trashy, web-novel roots here, and while some viewers found the twist genuinely unhinged ("那很神经了"), others felt the episode stuffed too many tropes and counter-tropes into its runtime, leaving it feeling bloated rather than thrilling . It's the kind of episode that makes you roll your eyes and keep watching anyway.
