I started reading the book, but not from the beginning, because I didn't want it to affect my view of Luan Nian. I started when they were about 2 years into their relationship. I do not find Luan Nian toxic in the book or in the drama. I like him. The comments made is seem as if was toxic in the book. I have the book to read between episodes.

Try reading the novel at around the part she got a puppy or a little before that. I keep laughing at the things Nuan Lian says and I swoon at the sweet things he does.

It has a long bonus about the ML parents getting married and having him. It also has the leads after marriage story. It is well written. I could see everything visually. I am going to look for more by that author.
